This place is BYOB. They cannot serve alcohol because of their proximity to the school. Their menu is pretty standard pizza place fare: a variety of toppings for pizzas, grinders, wings etc. It is a fairly small place. We were the only ones there on a Sunday night at 7:30. We were starving after an indoor soccer game and stopped in. The service was ok and the food hit the spot. Everything was fairly priced and we all left happy and full.

My lovely wife, Charlotte Mansfield and I needed to get something quick and good to eat. We hit a package store to get some Vino (wine) then, we hit Abate’s and the Pizza was great and the service was awsome. The price can’t be beat we were in and out for $ 20.00 with tip. Highly recomended.

It’s great to have a taste of New Haven over in North Branford. The Abate’s (pronounced Uhh-​bah-​taze) in New Haven is well known and usually busy, where as the North Branford spot is busy, but not well known. It’s really nice to have a place to get hot, fresh, authentic Italian cuisine right smack in the middle of a farming area. The employees are friendly and will help you get your order taken care of.
