Sunbuggy & ATV Fun Rentals

Great times! I researched the many options to rent ATVs along the coast, and based on all the reviews and information I gathered decided to go with Sunbuggy. My girlfriend and I were visiting Oregon from California and had never ridden ATVs before. We had a blast! Syd was super cool and helpful in getting us set up, choosing which type would be good for us based on the sand conditions and our (lack of) experience, and showing us how to shift and operate the quads. They provide you with helmets, goggles, and a quick safety/​instructional video before you embark on your adventure. It’s about a mile of sand dune riding to get to the coast, the sand is soft and you most likely will get stuck at least once. Luckily there are handles on the front and back end which make it easier to drag the quad out of the sand (the back end is lighter and easier to lift) so you should be riding again in no time. Once you get to the beach it’s amazing! Miles of wide open packed sand that you can seriously haul ass on (4^th gear is a rush!) and if you go on a weekday you pretty much have the beach to yourself. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done in my life. Highly recommend!

We stopped at Sun Buggy 9 – 15 during a road trip to Sequim Wa. It was just starting to sprinkle a little, but decided to go ahead. After getting the safety Meeting and Video about safety out of the way, we were fitted for helmets and googles. There are several nice looking buggies in the garage and outside but the rental they put us in was a beater. When you get in and put the seat belts on they tell you that you cant use the reverse gear ! What? this rental is forward only ! Ok, we have paid and are strapped in so lets go. You have to push down very hard on the gas to make this one go. Steering is all over the place. We follow the trail to the beach, but its flat and not much fun. Heading back to the dune section, we head for the side of the first big dune where all the tire tracks are. I floored it and barley made the top.
After riding around the sides of the dunes because this buggy wont climb anything, we head back and turn it in on time. They charge you and hour for every 15 minutes that you are late.
I would rent a razor from one of the other outfits in the area.
Would not recommend to a friend.

The staff at sunbuggy & ATV fun rentals in houser, Oregon is unbelievably helpful and friendly. The customer service alone was 6 out of 5 stars! They truly care about rider safety. My sister, friend and I were on a road trip up the west coast, it was our first time renting ATVs and Tom, Sid, and Jodie took the time to carefully go over all of the safety precautions and how to operate the vehicle. They even made sure we had eaten and brought waters before going out for our 2 hour ride! They went above and beyond on customer service, and the ride was absolutely beautiful! There is an option to stay in the dune area or go on the beach. My group decided to check out the beach first and it was unbelievably gorgeous! About 20+ miles of private beach, perfect flat surface for beginner riders. After we got the hang of operating the ATV, we decided to go check out the dune area too! It was such an amazing time and I will definitely be recommending this to my friends and family!

Awesome, Awesome place to rent dune buggies! GREAT customer service, Sid & Jodie were exceptional!!!

We came around 9:00 AM Jenny and Brent gave us some paper work to fill while they played a movie about the ATV’s.
After that, they helped us put on helmets and goggles and walked us to the ATV’s to explain how to use them. They gave us a map and directions.
If you are a beginner, I recommend renting a fully automatic ATV, so you don’t waste time figuring out how to use it and just use your time having fun.
We paid for one hour, but they nicely gave us 15 extra minutes to enjoy a little bit more (next time I’ll rent the ATV for at least 4 hours to get to see the dunes and beach!)
We got to the dunes and it was incredibly pretty!!! We got stuck in the sand a couple of times, but we became experts getting ourselves out at the end!
We came back and Jenny and Brent took pictures of us and then wave good bye.
It was our first time riding ATV’s and it was fantastic!!! We had an amazing time!
I totally recommend this place for a day of fun!

Stopped by and got great info about renting 4×4’s. Our son is too small to safely ride one this year but we’ll be back next year. Good people here. Thanks to Brent for all his advice.

The staff at Sun Buggy are accommodating towards new and experienced quad riders. They genuinely care about your experience and want you to have a good time, rather than exploit you for their gain. One of our quads acted up and they stopped our time and gave us an upgraded quad for no charge. When we got lost Sid stopped our time, found us, and guided us to the beach. We will definitely be renting from them again based on such wonderful costumer service. Thanks again Sun Buggy!

Just got back from a great two hours on the dunes at Winchester Bay. The staff was fantastic, and Tom was super helpful showing us the ropes. We rode for an hour and a half before we got stuck. We stopped on a mellow uphill and sunk into the dry sand. I was a little surprised that the buggy didn’t have enough power to get us out, but Tom did tell us to not stop on an uphill, so I claim full responsibility. Fortunately, there was a group of guys that helped dig us out, and a little more muscle was all we needed to do the trick. The main reason I tell this story is because I was afraid that we were gonna get charged for an extra hour when we got back a few minutes late. Tom was more concerned that we got stuck because he genuinely wanted us to have a good experience. He didn’t mind us being a little late. Great service, and I would recommend highly.

We had a great time out in the dunes thanks to Brent and the group at sun buggy. We had originally reserved two 4 seaters and a 2 seater for our group of 15. They wanted to make sure we had the best time possible so they recommended that we rent a couple more Buggies and I can’t thank them enough.
If they wouldn’t have recommended that, not everyone would have been able to go out all together and we would have lost a lot of time driving back and forth between the beach and the rental location switching out. We did have a small issue with one of our buggies but they quickly came and swapped it out with something different and gave our whole group and extra half hour of rental due to the Inconvenience. It was an absolute blast and we would come back. Highly recommend Brent at Sun buggy in Northbend he will make sure you have the time of your life

Went out towards the beach. Got lost. Tom came out and got us sorted. Go for the 4 hour rental and have fun. 2 hours will not be enough.
We bought rain coats, just in case but they have rain ponchos available for a buck a piece. They are a great place. WE HAD A BLAST!!!

Had a great time with my friends, renting 4 atvs from Sunbuggy. Tom and Brent were very friendly and flexible. I accidentally booked my reservation online for the wrong date and they called to reconfirm with me. They also changed the reservation time for free since we were running late. The dunes were a lot of fun and there was a great view with a lake. It took a little bit of time for me to learn how to ride the atv properly because I chose a manual one but once I did, it was really a blast.
Would definitely recommend Sunbuggy for anyone looking to ride the dunes.

Great service from Jenny and Brent! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My son and I were one of their first customers of the season; even with everyone still learning a new system and getting the bugs worked out on day two, they made it happen. Thanks y’all.

Had a great experience at sunbuggy. They were very nice and Jordan and Brent were very helpful. We rented the 4 seater explorer xp. I felt it was a little underpowered but we didn’t rent it for that. We wanted something that I could take the whole family into the dunes on and it worked perfectly. We will definitely rent again when we are in the area

Our experience at Sunbuggy-​Oregon was great. The customer service, safety review, all inclusive gear (helmets, goggles, gas) was top notch.
We had two adults and two children under 10 and rented a 4 seater dune buggy. The vehicle itself seemed a little under powered. We had trouble getting up some not excessively steep dunes. If we do this again, we may choose another type of vehicle.
However our «chaparone», Steven, was awesome! Sunbuggy sends out someone with you to assist if you get stuck and to ensure you don’t get lost. He gave us our space, but was there to help when needed. Thank you Steven! You helped make our experience a great one!

A real fun time. Steve and Brent worked hard to make thIs a great experience for us. Once we finished our lawyer required orientation video, we were sent out on our own to play in the dunes and beach at our own pace. 2 hours was the right length for us to cover beach and dunes. We would definitely go again.
