Thank you Coos Head for being here. Where else would all the organic food for such a reasonable price in one place? Thank you for serving our need in this community.

Great selection, but this place is too dang expensive. I really think more people would shop here if the prices were lower.

Really knowledgeable staff! I love the co-op. It’s a little pricey — which I think is necessary to survive in a small town — but a good little vegetarian with a bunch of dietary restrictions can seriously get anything she needs there. I’m reviewing because it should be added that the staff at this place knows their stuff. If you have questions about the actual sugar content of various sweeteners, which grains have gluten or protein, which teas are better for what kind of cold…they know. Great bulk section, coconut date rolls to die for, and they even have natural products for your dog. I mean, please. :) It’s always worth asking if they carry something — it’s so crowded, things are hard to find. But if you ask, usually it’s there somewhere. Oh — Parking; there is curbside right next to the store, but there’s a whole public lot that’s mostly empty right across the street. People ignore it because you have to go around the block to access it by car, but it’s perfectly placed if you’re going to walk around downtown North Bend.

Great organic food store – for the small store in a small town they did amazing job. I’m very glad this store was there for me when I was visiting town. I was buying most delicious local home-grown apples htere – never ate apples that good before, Maskal teff, and stuff like buffalo liver, all very reasonably priced. They have extensive dry food section(I’d wish they started to refrigerate raw dry bulk goods, though, such as seeds and nuts). The staff was very helpful and courteous.

It seems that 150 a pop is a rather high fee for a CO-OP. Buts they have us by the —- so I belong. The selection here is good and prices are usual for a health food store mentality. One thing that irritates the heck out of me is the Dog food«Solid Gold» we buy here in huge vaccum sealed bags. Every time we go to buy it, the bags have been«un-vaccumed» so you can see the air is now in the bag. And every time we ask for a bag that has not been affected we get this long cockamainey story about how it makes no difference and the food is still good. Well for gods sake why the freak do you think the manufacturer makes a point of vaccum sealing these bags? Just for fun? Makes me wonder about the IQ level of the manager and the employees. Oh and the lack of safe parking sucks too. No fault of the store.

To become a member you must pay $ 150! Then once quarterly you get 10% off?!! How does that make sense? I have worked at two co-ops. One in Arcata, CA and one in Colorado and have never heard of such out and out stealing from the local community. People… look up what Mountain People’s Co-op in Nederland CO gives you as a member and that place is about the same size as this one! You get 10% off everyday and if you volunteer you get 12% off! The only thing I can say for this place is the produce is not too overpriced and they have a good bulk section so I decided two extra stars are worthy.

Weve been shopping here ever since we moved from California in 1980. We are sure happy to know that we can support a local organic store that provides so much for the community. Ask about joining as a member. Coos Head buys its produce locally and supports the organic farmers in this area.

Coos Head Food Store is the only Co-op like spot in Coos/North Bend. It is a really good place to get fresh, organic produce outside of the twice weekly farmer’s markets, as well other harder-to-find spices, etc. I like the selection overall very much. I do however, wish the store wasn’t so cramped. It is set on a main city street in North Bend, between pawn shops and antique stores, with no actual parking lot nearby. That makes it kind of a hassle if you are planning to buy a large amount of items. Would so like to see this place in a larger location, with wider aisles and a parking lot.

This place has a small but high quality fresh produce section, some nice locally baked breads, and a great bulk food section. Best price on quinoa in the area :)

This store isn’t really that big, but has it all you need to survive on the coast. Organic wines, organic body care, homepathic products, teas, bulk, fresh produce, grocery, dry goods, frozen good and more. Friendly staff, but the check out can take some time.

This was a butcher’s store many decades ago. Today it is crammed full of the best organic and health food in town. You can buy bulk products, local products and quality brand name products here. The organic meats offered here are locally raised including the beef. You can eat what you buy here safely and isn’t that a nice thing these days! Service is good and sometimes you can get samples. The selection of goods for such a small store is outstanding. Just be careful about parking in downtown North Bend as 101 can be busy and have fast cars on it. Otherwise throw caution to the winds when you’re in the Coos Head Food Store as you buy-n-try after browsing the aisles!
