I had the blue cheese burger with fries. The burger was small and a little burnt. The bun also didn’t survive the entire meal. Needed a fork to finish the burger. Started with the Ambrosia wings which were really good. I also had Wild Turkey 81 with no ice. Great pour but I felt it was watered down. I still haven’t tried the Indian food. Maybe next time I go.

3 stars for the great waitress our party of 20 had. Those who ordered meals from the Indian options seemed very satisfied. However, 4 of us ordered steaks(2 prime rib, 1 top sirloin, 1 sirloin tips). My advice, do NOT order steak here. Neither of us were happy with the way they were all over cooked. $ 22 prime ribs that were cooked horribly and ruined. I ordered the tips, which are labeled«house speciality» and it did not live up to that at all. It was $ 18 for my meal and the tips were cooked well done, hard and chewy. I ordered them medium! They were also tiny bite size pieces of tips, I’ve never seen sirloin tips served this small of a size before at any restaurant. Most likely why they were so over cooked! Considering our party was really large, none of us bothered asking the waitress to have them re-do our orders. Such a disappointment. The atmosphere is overall welcoming. The décor varies from fancy to very tacky-paper maché bouquets of flowers hanging from the ceiling. Plenty of parking. Stick to the Indian options on the menu.(Although no one ordered from the pasta dishes, but I wouldn’t chance it.)

I’ve come to really like this place. Why? Because they give you options! Your first option happens when you walk in the door. If you are in a «bar/lounge» mood you go left. If you want more of restaurant experience you sit on the right side of the restarting. The second choice is the menu. I think the primary focus of the kitchen is Indian food. And it is good. I usually get your standard Tika masala, vindaloo, or chili chicken. What’s great about the menu is they have an «American» side. So if you bring someone that doesn’t like Indian food, they have plenty of options. My wife usually gets the chicken parm and she really likes it. I’ve also come with friends and sat the bar and they get burgers, chicken wings etc.

We have eaten here 3 times over 18 months. The first 2 were good. Good service, food, and atmosphere. We ate here last night(11÷28÷15) and it was awful. The waitress– She asked if we would like water, 10 minutes later it came out and we were ready to order. It was just rookie hour, we had to ask for sweetener for iced tea twice, no refills when we were empty for the majority of the meal. She was always hard to track down and quite rude when we did see her. Our nearby neighbors had water brought out initially and then had drink orders taken. They had food drinks, and were settled into their meal before we even had our appetizer; no big deal except they were seated 5 minutes after us and had a different waitress. The food– I ordered a top sirloin and they were out. It was 5pm on a Saturday evening. Of course they had the NY strip for a few bucks more, no big deal, just odd that a decent restaurant would be out of a steak so early on a weekend. No offer to upgrade for the same price since they were out, but he ordered the NY without complaint. My wife ordered the fish and chips. Appetizer done, meal out. Nothing crazy. The food is pretty good. We ask for some steak sauce and she comes over 5 minutes later with an empty bottle of A1 and says they are out. I ask if this is the last bottle in the whole place. Seems odd for a place that serves good steak,($ 16 – 22 based on the cut) not to have some steak sauce. Our waitress asks for a minute. She disappears behind the bar and my wife sees her grab a bottle of Worcestershire sauce. She comes back moments later and its a tad fuller than before. I hesitantly dump some on my plate and it is straight WS. At this point we are ready to leave. My wife took the bottle with her and we spoke with the manager. The waitress claims to not have added anything to the bottle but the evidence was hard to beat. The manager did give us a discount and was very apologetic, which was nice. In the restaurant’s defense, the previous 2 trips were quite opposite. The wait staff was very friendly and no issues with refills or food. However, it’s hard to remember the good and our bad experience last night, may be our last trip there.

I recently attended a baby shower here. It’s a cozy and intimate space, well lit and decorated. Would recommend for small events.

My entire family went here for a birthday event. While we were excited something new took over this building we were almost immediately disappointed. My sister asked for her combo plate to not have any of the lamb. When it finally came out it looked like just large unappetizing hunks of meat and there was indeed lamb. When we brought that up to our server they simply said oh, you never told me no lamb. My dish was a rice dish. That I had asked if they could change the level of spiciness of. I was told yes that’s fine, so I asked for it to be very mild for my dietary restrictions. No more than 6 bites in I couldn’t eat anymore it was burning my mouth. The rice was also very dry and tasted like it was reheated. I asked my family to try it since maybe it was just me but no, they all agreed it was very spicy. My father and brother in law got the steak tips. His is what they always check against other restaurants. My dad said they were okay, but my brother in law barely ate 2 and said they were dry, had no flavor and were overall terrible. I ordered an alcoholic drink(grape something) that ended up tasting like cough syrup. When asked if I wanted another I said no, just a water please. The waitress brought us another alcoholic beverage and refused to take it off the bill!!! Overall: bad server, bad food, not appetizing, my fork was dirty and the table cloth had stains. Only reason for 2 stars is it had some semi nice décor and my mother thought hers was«alright»

Been here twice. The experience couldn’t have been more opposite each time. First time I was there the service was absolutely atrocious. We had made reservations but the hostess never recorded them. Note that this was Mother’s Day so reservations are important. We were seated in the pub area because they wouldn’t serve the regular menu in the dining room. They never assigned us a waitress so I had to go looking for menus, flatware, water. Took 20 minutes before someone came over to take our order. Had to go looking for someone to bring us some drinks. An hour later the food arrived and it was VERY good. Nobody ever checked on us, though, nor did they come to see if we wanted any soda/water refills. I had to go looking for someone to pay our check. The whole time the tables around us were receiving good service. It was like being stuck in a punishment table or something. My wife really enjoyed the food, though, so we gave the place a second chance. Second time was a typical weeknight and in the dining room. Service this time was quite good and the food was very good. Still, I’m hesitant to go back a third time, that first one was so bad and totally messed up my Mother’s Day plan. FWIW, food really is very good, portions are generous, and the prices are good value. The building interior is wonderful. I just wish they hadn’t treated us so badly the first time in.

I chose this restaurant for a small shower before my sister’s wedding. I chose it because my sister had recently been to the restaurant a couple of times and it had quickly become her local favorite. The staff made the planning process ridiculously simple. They took care of everything. I showed up a half hour before the guests with a few decorations and a cake. From that moment on, the staff went out if their way to make us feel like their honored guests. Always there if you needed them but in an unobtrusive way. The restaurant adds an 18% gratuity for large parties and I asked them to add more of a gratuity because the service was that good! The food was amazing and the bread and humus to die for. They gave us left over in to go containers that I can’t wait to dig into. One guest called the bread«magic bread»! The drinks were fabulous too and clean up was easy. I can’t say enough about how Ambrosia Tavern added to a beautiful memorable day for my sister. Thank you so much!
