Passport Pilates

This is a review for Passpost Pilates’ Fit Barre classes. I have not tried their pilates classes.
Meh.
Just purchased a Groupon for an 18-​class Fit Barre punch card for $ 95, and I wish I didn’t.
This class was horribly boring. The music is inappropriate and at whisper volume (they were playing that depressing Adele song while we were supposed to be doing difficult ab moves, then «Sitting on the dock of the Bay» when we were at the barre doing «cardio»… not exactly a motivator), and the instructor, while in great shape, and a seemingly lovely person (hence the two stars, instead of one), really shouldn’t be teaching group classes. She didn’t seem to have any rhythm, and she had a hard time explaining the moves to the class. Half the time, she didn’t do them with us, either. Too many breaks, too much over-​explaining… not enough action, I guess.
I can actually see how she would be an excellent pilates instructor, but Barre is supposed to be more «high octane». If you want to go to a really excellent Barre class, try Barre N9ne in Andover Center, and see Tanya. I won’t make the mistake of going anywhere else again.

I signed up for a Fit Barre class online and there was a «Free class» option when I went to check out. I went to the class a few days later and it was decent. The facility is extremely small and the room where the Fit Barre was located had a slippery floor and was like an elementary school classroom. The teacher Marybeth was nice, but I got a call 3 days later telling me I owe them $ 16 for the class I took. I said that I booked online and that it’s not my fault that option came up. The office manager was extremely rude, asking if the only reason I signed up was because it was free. I find that extremely offensive since EVERY gym, studio, personal trainer that I know offers a free session to see if you like it. I told her she can send me a bill and I’ll gladly pay, but she will not be making anymore money off of me. I currently do Pilates 4 days a week at another place that is just too far from my house, so I was looking for some place closer. I also had a friend with me who will also NOT be returning. This is bad business and they should take responsibility for their website and online scheduler misinforming people. Good luck staying in business with practices like this. There are much cleaner and nicer facilities with NICE staff than this place.

i LOVE passport pilates. i have no idea what i did before i found it. Kathy is incredible, and always beyond awesome with her customers. the classes always send me home sore and my body has never looked so good!
