I hadn’t been to this place in 10 years… I am super glad I revisited! They moved into the space next door and now boast a new, open, modern interior complete will a full bar. It looks great! Waitstaff is still awesome, and breakfast is still amazing! This place always makes me think if iHop and your grandmas house combined, this is what you’d get. They also have lunch on the backside of the menu. Maybe next time. All the breakfast food I’ve ever seen come out of their kitchen looks perfect. We had a large group: chicken and waffles, pancakes, French toast, bacon, eggs, and the like. Yum!

Yum yummy. I had the southwestern omelet. The avocado and onions were so fresh tasty full flavor. The spicy chili sauce was a little heat but it went great with the avocado sour cream and cheese. My mate had the sweet potato pancakes and turkey sausage. The best sweet potato pancakes I’ve ever had. The staff was great and they got a full bar. Really happy I stopped here.

Today was our first time and we really loved this place. The décor is wonderful. The updates and remodeling was worth every penny. The food is what you expect in with the name pancake house. I had an omlet that came with three pancakes. The husband had a basic breakfast that consisted of eggs, sausage, home fries, and toast. All of it was just perfect. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is the service was kinda slow. Hubby does not like waiting after we have eaten for the check or the return of his card. Both took a little longer than it should. With that being said we still think this could be our place for breakfast in the future.

Really good food at a decent price. There’s a military discount and now they’ve expanded their menu!

My personal favorite brunch place in Norfolk. Very friendly staff and great service. Family-friendly, nice casual atmosphere. The food is always great as well! They are now a full-service restaurant, so now it is also a great spot to have a couple drinks or to go out for dinner. They do 15% military discount

I don’t even like pancakes, ha. But the apple ones were delicious! The Grecian omelette was great too. Fresh, hot and tasty. In general, there was an amazing variety of choices — more so than the usual breakfast joint. It’s beautiful inside. Once you walk in the door, you forget you’re in a strip mall. Long-ish wait at 10:30AM on Sunday. That’s why I don’t give it 5 stars. But the pancakes were so worth it.

Let’s start of with the wait time. On a Sunday, right after church lets out, it gets hectic. I was told 20 minutes before we were seated. It was closer to 45. Now that I have the negative out of the way… The French toast was delicious. They have scrapple, so that’s automatically a plus. They also have a brunch mimosa special. While I am in no rush to go back there, I will likely not turn down a repeat visit if friends ask.

I have been coming here for about 6 years now. I like the new décor and the food is great! They added in wheat pancakes! They were fluffy and big. couldn’t finish them but all in all still a great place for breakfast

Best breakfast food in town! And I love the redo. We have been enjoying the pancake house for decades. It only gets better every time we go!

Great food, great service… the restaurant biz is hard and challenging. Great to see a local Mom and Pop expand and succeed. Bravo

Pancakes too cakey– bacon dripping in grease. Wife had eggs and she said they were ok but could’ve been better if the weren’t from a container. Coffee was weak.

Extremely slow and unorganized. Clean and small but slow. Food –ok– cheap for what you get if you don’t mind waiting.

Dear Pancake House & Grill, Please go back to the delicious diner that you used to be. My husband and I LOVED the old Pancake House. was great. Food WAS(key word, was) great. What happened? We arrived this morning around 10:30, and was told there would be a 15 – 20 minute wait. Totally fine, as I thought I would be experiencing the the same level of deliciousness I have previously encountered. The server initially told us that the kitchen was backed up, and our food would take a while. Fine again– not upset by this at all. When our food did finally come, everything was cold. I mean everything. I’m not sure about you, but I don’t like cold, over easy eggs. Just not my thing. The server dropped our food off so fast and left, that my husband wasn’t able to ask for butter and syrup for his pancakes. So I got up, and went to their bar area and got someone to get it for me. As this happened, our server came out and handed it to me. All in all, our experience was not what we expected. Not sure if we will go back when there are so many other amazing breakfast options in the area.

Good food, but the service left something to be desired. Went there today with a group of 8 people. First we called ahead and were told it would be a 15 minute wait for a table. We got there and it turned into a 45 minute wait. When we were finally seated, our waitress was very nice and attentive. However she took our order and the kitchen took over 45 minutes to get our food out. There was nothing too intense to make. We’re talking eggs, bacon, waffles, and pancakes. No reason to wait this long to make food. I’m pretty sure every table in the place had turned over by the time our food got to us. It’ll be a long time before I go back. Too bad because I did enjoy my breakfast.

This place was amazing we were seated quickly and the food was ONPOINT. I was skeptical when we showed up but was assured the food was good and it was. The waitress and hostess were both sweet as can be and most definitely had great attitudes about taking care of our needs. Also they give a discount for active duty military being that close to base most places don’t or don’t openly advertise that they do. Both the waitress and hostess asked to make sure we saved a few bucks if we were. We will definitely be going back again soon!

I stopped in here for breakfast last Tuesday morning after a doctors appointment. It was about 10:30am and the breakfast crowd had pretty much cleared leaving us a healthy selection of tables to choose from. We grabbed a 4 top about half way into the dining room and immediately were provided with water and menus. I ended up ordering a breakfast combo called ‘The Rise-N-Shine’ which is a breakfast platter with corned beef hash, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, 3 scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese over home fries and my friend had a pancake breakfast. As always the service was fast and friendly and the food was in front of us less than 10 minutes after ordering. You can’t complain about that. Our drinks were topped off regularly as well and the little butter cups were the perfect temperature, not so cold you can’t spread it. Last but not least they have started a breakfast card. By 6 entrée’s and get the 7th free(up to $ 8.00), which is good deal as well. I’m looking forward to my next visit already.

This is just a cute average breakfast spot. I could tell upon entering that this place had been around for a while, as evidenced by the multitude of photographs adorning the walls. The omelettes are huge and freshly cooked, and the pancakes are not bad. Our service was great as well, and they were quick to accept alterations to the menu. Luckily our coffee was so hot and fresh, and they offer real half and half instead of creamer. I do recommend the American omelette(I switched the American cheese for cheddar though). The southwest omelette is loaded with salsa, so be warned. i did enjoy the price as well(less than $ 20). The only reason I did not rate this establishment higher is because it was nothing spectacular, but just right for brunch. I’d visit again if I’m ever in the area.

FAILREVIEW!!! I am going to rate this place as per my visit and experience. I don’t know where to begin but I am feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. Yes, its a tiny place and run by family. It’s also a neighborhood diner were the owner knows most of their guests. Don’t know about hype regarding the awesome pancakes or excellent breakfast… I say BOOOOO!!! I don’t usually do this but I strongly believe that people should do fair judgement not because the know the owner or someone work this place. I also believe in quality service despite of busy scenario. People should know especially who work in hospitality industry that they have to ensure that their guest have the best experience. The pancake is ok, its thin, soft and nothing fancy at all. The American omelet is probably the highlight of my visit. Somehow, I don’t always end of my judgement till I try them again. Yes, I will come back here again and try something new. Hopefully not brunch.
