Forced to stay here for a course. Room is nice with good amenities for a long stay. Internet still doesn’t work after a week, and i have complained twice a day, put on hold and hung up on every time; people who happen to have a working connections say its terrible. Its 2016 and there are existing still, only for the sake of the government using a lowest bidder, internet services worse than in 1995. Have to do work for a course but no internet connection at all. Sorry to put it at a zero rating, but don’t go cheap on a standard service.

Update: Went back again to see if there was any availability. A different girl was at the counter and she was actually very kind and went through the reservations. Still didn’t get what I was after but I can’t complain about her customer service. Went to see if they had availability for my family while my wife was here. They young lady at the counter looked barely awake and also talked to me with her hands covering her face so I could barely understand her. What I could understand was that there was absolutely no housing and she wasn’t going to bother to check. They had been telling us for a while that they had no room for us but they had the room to move another family that we talked to who had a sewage back up. It’s strange that they had the availability to move someone but had been telling us for over a month that they couldn’t help us.

This review is for suite 1147. I just finished staying there for the past 10 weeks. Here is my review. Building is old. I stayed on second floor. Floor creaks and if you live on the first floor you will hear all of it. Walls are paper thin. You can hear neighbors through walls. Tv/wifi worked great. Only a few short outages when I was there. Bed was a little soft for my liking. Bathroom worked just fine and shower was nice and hot. A must. Room has flat screen tv, plenty of storage, walk in closet, microwave, desk, coffee table, sofa chair and kureig coffee machine. Room service was pretty good. Out of ten weeks they only missed my room once. Snow days gets really scary due to ice build up along the walkways. Very slippery. Thermostat is in the entryway for all three rooms. The key is to keep all windows downstairs closed. If they are opened, the thermostat takes its reading from downstairs and will pump out heat. The upstairs is 4 – 5 degrees warmer than downstairs. So 68 downstairs is perfect upstairs. Kitchen is fully equipped with working appliances. Washer dryer were new and worked great. For $ 58 a day this was a great deal and very convenient as it is only a 5 min walk to the school house.

Most places will go out of their way to allow families to check in early. Not this place. I usually am patient and understanding but with a 2 year old it’s hard to kill Time. I kindly asked to be called when we can check in and have yet to get a call 6 hrs later. I know check in isn’t until 3 but doesn’t seem like the front desk didn’t care to even check with the room service to see if they were done. Not like we booked 10 rooms. One room. Just has to be cleaned. It’s just always nice when a business has people that go above and beyond for their guests

This location is inside the Joint Forces Command Base in Norfolk. I stayed in a three room suite which was basically three different people sharing a kitchen. You have your own room and bath but the kitchen is for everyone. First, it’s cheap, of course, you have to have Navy or DODID to get on the post. Second, don’t stay downstairs, the upstairs floor creaks and squeaks everytime someone moves upstairs. The biggest gripe with this place is the entire building only has one thermostat and it’s in the entry way to the building. This means that if the entry way is cold, your room will be scorching or if someone upstairs is cold and turns the thermostat down to fire the heat, you may be cooking in your room. Even though it was 40 degrees outside, I had all the windows open since the heat never stopped and it was sweltering in my room. The entry way and kitchen was cold and every time I turned the heat down, someone came down and turned it right back up again. Not very efficient. Plenty of parking. There is a subway, a burrito factory, and a burger joint on base(Ingram road) and there are NEX stores scattered around. After 6 only the back gate is staffed so be advised. All the restaurants and shops close around 5. Decent enough place to stay though and it has a full kitchen. and did I mention it was cheap.
