Absolutely horrendous. The only edible part of our dinner were the egg rolls, and those were mediocre at best. Everything was bland. No spice. No flavor. A pack of Ramen Noodles has more going for it that Kin’s.

As a Jersey girl, I grew up loving these types of casual take out restaurants. Leaving the tri-state, I’ve often found these fast«Chinese» food places are just even more greasy versions of the food I keep as a guilty pleasure. That’s why I was just so happy to come across Kin’s Wok. I would come here again, because it’s the closest to the quality from back home. It wasn’t a surprise to see the owner started his career there. The prices are a touch higher than it’s competitors. The quality difference is apparent however. My go-to place when I’ve got the itch for take out.

The quality has gone down in the past year. The broccoli now has a yellowish tint to it and the chicken is quite a bit more soggy as they douse it in sauce. I’d say go to Ya-Ya for your general tsao chicken.

Great Chinese food of good quality too. I love the fried rice and the sweet and sour chicken. They definitely serve some of the best Chinese food in the Ghent area. The food just has a better quality than some of the other Chinese restaurants do.

This was my first time at Kin’s Wok. When entering the restaurant, I had to swat a few flies out of my face. Hmmmm… why didn’t I take that as a hint and leave?! (`ー´) I ordered their vegetable lomein from the lunch special. Before placing my order, I asked if they could switch the lomein noodles out for the rice noodes. I was told no. That wasn’t surprising. I requested fried rice with my lomein. Now, I’m not sure how many orders were ahead of mine, but there was only one person waiting on his order in the restaurant. I’m guessing they had multiple delivery orders ahead of mine because I waited longer than 20 minutes for my food. I’ve heard they take online orders. So that may be the reason why I had to wait longer than expected. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ While waiting, my daughter pointed out the flies flying around in the area where we were waiting. I tried to think of something positive to say and I told her that it was a hot day and the flies probably found their way in from the front door to cool off… hmmmmm.(゚ヮ゚) When I received my meal and after swatting a few flies away, I immediately noticed that it looked bland. The noodles and vegetables didn’t appear to have much seasoning on them. I tasted it and it indeed was very bland. I decided I’d add some of their soy sauce and duck sauce. That didn’t improve the taste at all. I was not pleased. I have absolutely no desire to return here.

This is the closest we have found(so far) to MA style Chinese food. Haven’t tried everything on the menu but we always base how we like a Chinese fast food restaurant on how they prepare and make their boneless spare ribs.(Up north they’re sweet and savory; soft yet crunchy on the edges and a a good ratio of meat vs fat) Haven’t found a place that is 100% as good as up north but this one is so far the best. I will say everything else like their Lo Mein or General Chicken is basically the same just has a better taste than others we’ve had(mainly Chesapeake area) I think it’s worth a try but I’m not done looking for the best!

In our house, it’s almost mandatory that we have Chinese about once a month. General tso’s combination with white rice. Always. Sometimes when I want to change things up, I’ll order a subgum wonton, which is a semi difficult dish to find, but with my taste(I like a little of everything!), it the perfect meal.

Not too many places serve chow fun, and I have to say it is the best I’ve ever had. I always get the pork chow fun and they give you lots of big slices of char siu. Most Chinese places just give you tiny bits. The ingredients used are always fresh and never too greasy. Today I tried the small shrimp with lobster sauce and the shrimp was HUGE! So delicious and fresh. I love Kin’s Wok!

I own DJH Fine Home Furnishings in Ghent! I eat at this restaurant 4 – 6 times per week both lunch and dinner! The kitchen is always clean and the food exceptional. I have never been sicken by the food and am sorry to see such a harsh review below! Social media is a wonderful tool, we will never all agree but glad to compliment a JOBWELLDONE! KIN’s WOK in Ghent is the best!

It’s very odd because I could have sworn I wrote a review for this place awhile back. Maybe I was too negative then and they paid Unilocal to delete it. Who knows? Anyway– this is one of many local«New York Style Chinese» places that dot/blot each and every strip mall in Hampton Roads. The food is generally ok. I prefer a few places in VB but this place works in a pinch. However, recently prices went up and the food quality did not. Fast casual pricing and lower than McDonald’s quality don’t exactly add up. Ordered there last night and both the hubby and I ended up running for the bathroom first thing this morning if you catch my drift. The only meal we ate together was dinner and we both have been«running» back to the RR all day long so I don’t think I’m going to be eating there again in the near future. One positive note, they do take credit now but not sure how high the order minimum threshold is. Might be $ 20 but maybe $ 10.

Good portions and highly respectable Gen. Tao’s chicken(not too sweet or overbreaded). Have tried China Ocean and Yummy Wok(which overcharged me and made me ill) and out of the three, Kin’s is the knockout winner.

Reasonably priced. Good portion Fresh ingredient Whenever I order a dish there, I ask for to go container even though I dine in because I know that I can’t finish my dish since it’s huge portion. Not only the size of the dish is generous, but also it tastes good Can’t ask for more.

This place is fantastic. AND it takes credit cards now, so don’t be discouraged. Lunch special General Tso’s Chicken with white rice is my weakness.

I’m really not sure why Ken’s is number 1. It’s descent Chinese food, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve had better in Norfolk. Middle of the road Chinese at Ken’s.

I having been going to this joint since they opened! I was working at Bank of America which was«Nationsbank» at the time! I will not eat at any other chinese joints in the USA! I have had awful chinese food in NYC twice! I don’t need to strike out 3 times! Although I eat alot cleaner these days, when I want to «cheat», I will do so here at this joint! I love the shrimp egg foo young, shrimp fried rice and the pancit(mei fun). They have southern iced tea with lemon that is good too!

Started going here when I began college at ODU in 2001. Since I no longer live in the Hampton Roads area, I only get to go once a year or so, but it never disappoints. We used to go here frequently in college. Many friends who didn’t have cars ordered from Kin’s because they delivered. If you are an ODU student, check it out.

We order so much from here that I have no idea why we haven’t rated this place. Kin’s Wok literally is as close to New York Chinese as can be. I would like to thank Kin’s for making NY to VA a smooth transition. I may not have the same accessibility to go anywhere but at least I have Kin’s. Any who back to the food. I personally haven’t ate in so I don’t know how cleanly their staff is but they are friendly. They do quick deliveries and we’ve never had a problem or order mixup. Only reason why it’s four and not five star is because we haven’t been getting our fortune cookies! We need fortune cookies! Kin’s Wok: quick delivery, authentic NY Chinese style, yum! Yum!

I came here based on the reviews of friends and family that used to love eating at Kins years ago. So many people raved about the difference in taste between this chinese restaurant and every other one with a stock name. Unfortunately I was HIGHLY disappointed. The cash only aspect is a bit annoying. The only reason they are getting two stars is because the girl allowed me to run to the bank down the street while cooking my food so it would be ready by the time I got back. I ordered the lunch special(generals chicken) with white rice. The lunch special did not come with an egg roll or side of soup, which was a bit confusing because a lot of other chinese places offer that for a cheaper price than Kin’s. The Generals chicken was a soggy. I was really unimpressed by the flavor, the sauce was very gooey and had no spice to it. If there is one thing a chinese place can’t afford to mess up it is the general’s chicken. And they failed miserably. The rice was dry and crunchy. I didn’t finish my lunch«special». For the price and for all the hype it was NOT worth it and I don’t plan on coming back. There was nothing special about this place except the girl taking my order was friendly and spoke perfect English.
