Came here for the all you can eat lunch, which is only $ 13.95 per person… But BECAREFUL, they also give you the dinner menu, which if you get anything off of that… it automatically bumps your price to $ 18.95 and they won’t tell you. Garbage ass people.

Nigiri was good and specialty sushi was good. Customer service was ok or kind of ok, but the delivery of your selection was quick. I would come back again very decent selection with the taste of good sushi.

The sushi was alright, the customer service was alright. I got pretty full, and they serve beer. All in all I would say I like this place.

We tried several different rolls, miso soup, and spicy seafood soup. Everything was very fresh and delicious.

The food was decent, not as fresh as I would like it to be, but really no complaints on the sushi. However the service was absolutely terrible. We walked in and the waitress pointed at a table and shouted from across the restaurant to «sit there». Throughout the entire meal no one, besides a man in blue shirt tried to show us any sort of kindness or hospitality. We would thank them for bringing us our next plate and the would just walk away with a angry look on our face. Then they actually cut us off when we were still eating by taking our menus and not coming back to our table for 10 more minutes. Do yourself a favor, and make the trip to sushi king instead. Better service, fresher food.

Originally, I was going to give this place 2 stars. 3 would be pushing it. I demoted this place to 1 star for a reason but let me tell you first what was ok about the place. I come from California where there are many really good sushi spots. I know the best spots specially for ayce sushi. I KNOW good sushi. This place serves OK sushi at best. Some of the things we got were horrendous but we ate it because we didn’t want to pay for the extra charge. The appetizers are the only reason my husband liked this place. He gave some tofu teriyaki to our daughter and she seemed to like it and so did we. The service was ok. The workers clearly don’t communicate about the customers. We were seated and 3 different workers came at different times asking us what we would like to order when we ordered from the guy who seated us. Every couple of minutes someone would come up and ask if we want anything else. Now, the reason I dropped the stars was because I KNOW how much tip I put but when the charge came through, it says I paid more. Our bill was $ 43 and some change so I gave a $ 6 and some change as tip to make it an even $ 50. My card was charged $ 55. To some, you might say they duped you for an extra $ 5 no big deal. We are not rich and every little bit counts for my family. Now you might ask well why don’t you say something? –__– Unfortunately, I didn’t keep my copy of the receipt so I have no proof. I’m an accountant so my memory is really good when it comes to numbers. I KNOW what I wrote and it was NOT an 11 dollar tip. I was going to come back to this place because it is the closest sushi spot but after being cheated for my money, i’m never going back. I’d rather take the extra 15 – 20 min drive to downtown Norfolk.

The décor was a little to dark for my lighting, a bit more light would be great. The staff is great and keeps your drink full and the customer happy. I had the gyoza, which was awesome; I had two spicy California rolls, which were probably the best I’ve ever had; I also ordered the teriyaki chicken, which seemed like a cheap thin one from the grocery store that was grilled with a little sauce one top of it.

Food Is great, AYCE lunch is reasonably priced for the options they have, I’ve been here multiple times and never had a problem with this place. Great location close to Naval Station Norfolk. And not even a mile from my house.

Came for their all-you-can-eat lunch(13.95). They have a large selection of soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, nigiri and sushi rolls that are made to order. I had the clear soup, shrimp tempura, shrimp nigiri and a sweet potato roll. Everything was fresh and delicious. I also ordered the cucumber salad, but I did not like that at all as it seemed to have been made a few days earlier. My husband ordered a few of their specialty rolls as part of his lunch and they were large and looked very fresh and high quality. That being said, I didn’t eat them, so I really can’t comment on their taste. I thought for the price that it was an excellent deal and it was a much nicer concept than some of the buffets in the area since everything(for the most part) seemed to be made to order. The place does not look like much from the outside, and the décor is lacking inside, but the food and value more than made up for that.

Location is a little weird which is probably why this place doesn’t get as many customers as they should. It’s only $ 14 for lunch and $ 22 for the dinner menu selection, and they’ll let you pick dinner even if it’s lunch. It’s all you can eat, made to order sashimi pieces, nigiri, and full sized specialty sushi rolls. It’s an incredible deal for the price and the quality is not bad. Not bad, as in it’s not like a buffet, but not as amazing as your favorite sushi restaurant. But good. I’d recommend if you like sashimi, it’s a steal !

Will NOT be going back at all! Absolutely the worst restaurant experience I ever had! I should of known because the lights were so dim when we entered. It seemed more of a club than a restaurant. It wasn’t even romantic or anything, I want to believe that when restaurants have dim light that they’re hiding something. Our table had dirt under it and the glass cups weren’t even clean. When asked if I wanted a refill I declined automatically. My glass had a sticky residue on the rim and a lot of hard water streaks on it. So the Drinks alone even intensified my displeasure with the establishment. I’m sure the sushi was great however I had the gyoza for an appetizer and the beef yakiniku as the entrée. I believe the gyoza were probably market bought from the Asian store because it tasted EXACTLY like the stuff from the store. The beef yakiniku wasn’t special at all. It seemed like it was stir-fry with green onions and regular onions with kikoman soy sauce… and the beef seemed like it was old. No flavor at all in the dish. It was overall the worst dining experience I had. To top it all off, the amount they charged was so absurd! The pricing for each dish did not match the quality of food they had. I would of been better off going to a regular market store and buy sushi to go. My wife definitely knew I was displeased with the restaurant however if she enjoyed the food then it’s okay with me. Personally, worst and pricy restaurant that I will not go to again! Wouldn’t even refer my friends there. If anything, I will tell them what places NOT to go for Japanese style food. And that place will be the first to be mentioned.

Went in for a late lunch around 2pm. The restaurant was uncomfortably dark for my liking. The waitress was a little rude but the waiters were friendly. The lunch plate is reasonable for the price but I wish it has description in the rolls. The salad was like 4 pieces of old lettuce a slice of soggy tomato and one slice of dry cucumber, it had a fair amount of dressing. I got an avocado roll and salmon roll. They were very plain, avocado roll was only avocado wrapped in rice. So like I said not bad for $ 10 but had I known I would have skipped the lunch plate and ordered full rolls. I’ll definitely go back and try them out.

So, I use to love this place until my recent experience. Their management is becoming horrible and rude. Therefore, I will not go to this location again and If I do get dragged here with friends; believe me, they will not like my attitude. We did the all you can eat, and I had rice and ONE sushi piece left on the plate me and my family shared. The server came out and kept yelling at us to finish, and I told her it’s just rice, we ate the inside and we are full. She said then they are going to have to charge us, so you know what I did? I threw it away in a napkin, either way find ways to get rid of it. Wasteful or not, they need some better management and customer service training. You will not get respected as a business when you think that much food is «wasteful,» if that is the case, give options on how many slices we would want and not bring out entire rolls!

I don’t have complaints about this place. I came in out of curiosity, but definitely don’t regret it. You must have the dinner all you can eat sushi. They definitely don’t hold back on this. Sushi is done on the spot. The service is very friendly, they have no problems making you feel at home. You gotta try the soups as well. The deserts are just a work of art, they are so delicious. Definitely come hungry on this one, you won’t regret it.

This is a cute little place that I never would have found on my own. It’s a decent place for a quick meal option. My boyfriend goes here with coworkers for the all-you-can-eat sushi. It’s pretty cheap and conveniently located for them, so it’s a good option for them. I’m not generally a fan of places with all-you-can-eat sushi as the quality isn’t generally the greatest. We came here for lunch because it was close by. I wasn’t really hungry at that particular moment, so we decided to just share one of the lunch specials. The tuna roll and the salmon roll were pretty good – I wouldn’t have minded eating more of those. But we also got the Boston roll, which neither of us particularly enjoyed. I think it wouldn’t have tasted so bad if it wasn’t for the lettuce inside. Just the combination of that with the the rest of the roll made it taste a little strange. Other than that, I thought the place itself was very cute. The servers were very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. I don’t know that I would say I’m definitely coming back, but the place was decent for a cheap and easy lunch.

Sushi seems like a really easy thing to make. But, if youve never made it you dont know how hard it really is. Ive made it probably a total of 3 times in my life. Which is why when i go to a sushi place and the sushi looks amazing AND tastes great its really something special. This all you can eat dinner sushi menu, while $ 21 dollars may be pricey to you think of it this way(which is also what I did): off the top of my head 3 of the special rolls on their dinner menu are the Dragon Roll, Butterfly Roll, and McArthur. The dragon roll is $ 11, the Butterfly is $ 13, and the McArthur is $ 12. Now, im no scientist but if you add those together thats $ 36. Plus i got a salad for $ 2. So $ 38(roughly) is what i WOULD have paid for 3 amazing rolls and a salad. But it only cost $ 21. It was really a steal. And really yummy! I will be going back!

Yuuuuum! My honey and I enjoy eating here! They have an amazing lunch menu … The only thing that im not big on is should you order the«all you can eat sushi» for $ 13 and you don’t eat every single piece you order… They threaten to charge you extra for being wasteful

Yuck, yuck, yuck!!! How is this even okay? To dry fish outside in the heat, near trash cans? Are you people crazy! Update: the owner was upset I put news link here and contacted me which led me to his also fake reviews on his own restaurant. Winning? It’s a shame that Unilocal’s algorithm isn’t more sophisticated to catch all the fake tips and reviews under businesses. It has several now that their food practices were in the news. Now it’s a bunch of pictures with 1 person reviewers and tips. Real classy. We will never eat there again! You can’t dry fish in the heat outside over trash cans and feed this to your customers no matter what country you’re in. This is not okay!

I’ve eaten lunch here several times with co-workers during the workday. I usually order either two sushi rolls at lunch or do the all-you-can eat lunch special for $ 12.95. I understand why they make you eat everything on your plate — because otherwise people would order 10 sushi rolls and eat a bite or two from each — they are trying to keep costs down and ensure people don’t take advantage of their system. It works for me — I only order 2 – 3 sushi rolls each time and rice or edamame. Service has typically been pretty prompt though on my last visit, while the food was out rather quickly, we did wait a very long time to get the check. The sushi is decent and fresh. Well-priced and tastes fine to me.(I only order avocado rolls, spicy california and volcano rolls though…) I was also charged the incorrect amount on my last trip. I almost never keep lunch/dinner receipts but I’m glad I found this in the bottom of my purse because when it cleared my account it seemed really high unless I left a $ 10 tip. I should’ve been charged $ 12.50 and instead when it cleared over the weekend and Monday holiday on the following Tuesday I had been charged $ 21.50. I’m guessing it was a slip-up of the numbers — either way I called and they offered to fix it but I’ll need to go down in person because I didn’t want to give my debit card info over the phone. As long as they clear it up and don’t argue or give me problems I’ll still be a happy customer — if not — I’ll update my review.
