This place is amazing!!! The fish and chicken is top notch! People are very friendly and helpful! It’s the Uncle Buds I remember as a kid!

Great place. Will definitely be coming back. I had the Hurricane Chicken, which was like buffalo chicken. Very good.

I’m a big fan of Uncle Bud’s. If you’re looking for Catfish, this is the place to go. However, oddly enough — I think their best menu items is not their catfish! My personal favorite is some of their shrimp choices. The calabash shrimp has an excellent spice level, and delicious flavor. Paired with the creole sauce it makes a very delectable menu choice. I would also say this place has my favorite hush-puppies in the area.

Good fried catfish but the sides were a little off. I got the three piece dinner that filled me up quite well. The fish and fries were good along with the hush puppies. The beans that came out with this meal were were pretty salty. I don’t remember them being that salty in past visits so hopefully it was a fluke. Same thing with the coleslaw. The problem wasn’t that it was too salty it just didn’t taste good. Not sure what the problem was… but again, it has been good before so maybe this night was just a bad night. A good southern fired seafood joint with normally good food and a hardy«Howdy Y’all» when you enter

I just have one question: Why is the gumbo in Nolensville not nearly as good as the gumbo in Franklin? We’ve gone to both locations several times and each time the gumbo in Franklin is way better. Much more meaty and not as much rice. The gumbo in Nolensville is mostly rice with a few(small) chunks of sausage and chicken. We asked the manager @ Franklin and he said it should be the same recipe although he’s heard the same comments about the gumbo several times before. We’ve mentioned it to the folks @ Nolensville and they said they’d keep it in mind, but that’s all they’ve done, because again, today. mostly rice. Please Nolensville Peeps:. take a lesson from your cooks in Franklin! BTW, Franklin’s fried chicken is out of this world(Sunday Special). haven’t tried it in Nolensville but probably will soon. Very moist, even the white meat was juicy and delicious.

This place is great. The menu is concise — it’s easy to see what these folks do well, and want to do well — catfish and chicken, with the usual side items. I’ve had both(catfish and chicken) and they are really good — fried, but not greasy. You can’t fake good catfish, and this is good catfish. My kids love it, too. Very family friendly. And the folks who work there are very nice and very friendly.

I was so happy to rediscover Uncle Bud’s. I have fond, catfish-filled memories of their location in Franklin from when I was but a wee lad. The new incarnation is more a quick-serve place than a family-style restaurant; there’s no hostess, just a window. Order your food, they’ll hand you a number placard and then grab a table, they bring it out to you. Condiments and napkins are all on the table; you don’t have a waiter. If you need a refill, go back to the fountain. The manager and staff will circle the floor and check to make sure you’re enjoying everything, but they aren’t there to wait on you. The restaurant can get very busy for the dinner rush, especially on the weekends. Be prepared to wait for a table. If the wait is too bad, the wife and I will order our food to go and take it home. The catfish is every bit as good as I remembered; so flaky, fresh and flavorful. There’s something about the seasonings they use in their breading; it’s like crack. I think they put some crack in the hushpuppies as well, fried dough shouldn’t taste nearly that good. The white beans are my favorite side; but the slaw and pickles are just as good as they used to be. I have yet to try their fried chicken, but I’ve heard good things. In short, if you love fried catfish, this is some of the best I’ve had. If you’re in Nolensville and you don’t feel like getting BBQ across the street, come here.

Food: barely good. Ambience: i like the set up a lot. Temperature of the dining room: hotter than firecracker. Service: not good. Price: about 4 bucks above what it deserves This isn’t my mother’s Uncle Bud’s of Nashville/Franklin Fame twenty years ago… not even close. I know it’s connected to the historic UB’s…but falls short. Too bad. I’ll give it another whirl… just in case it was a bad day.

Finally hit up this Uncle Bud’s at Noon on a Sunday. Took a minute to get a table for 5, but sat down and looked over the menu. I’ve lived in Nashville for many years, and our family used to go to the old Uncle Bud’s a lot in Franklin as a kid. The shack here is a little small and you order from a window inside the joint. Menu is on the wall. Pay for your order, take a number and sit at your table. Easy enough. We had a lot of variety at our table… a seafood platter, catfish plate, oyster po boy, more catfish and shrimp and some fried chicken. The catfish was light and cooked perfectly. Louisiana hot sauce is sitting on the table already… waiting for you. The shrimp have a slightly more seasoned batter and no tails… awesome. The fried oysters were cooked just right. The clam strips were overcooked and a little dry. The homemade roumelade and cocktail sauce were both great. Hush puppies were made fresh and fantastic. The fried chicken was juicy and wonderful. Overall a great little place to grab some fried seafood, catfish or chicken. Thumbs up!

If you want some fried seafood, this is your place. I ordered the catfish/shrimp combo. The batter on the catfish was night and light and crispy and the remoulade that came with it was yummy as well. I also really enjoyed the fried shrimp, it had a different batter than the catfish but was equally light. This place obviously isn’t for the health conscious but I will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu.(They even have gator, frog legs, and fried chicken livers…) Staff was friendly and we didn’t wait very long for our food after we ordered. Solid place, definitely recommend if you are in the area!

The catfish was great. Batter was light and the fillets were not overcooked keeping the fish flaky and moist, but my favorite think are the chicken tenders! So GOOD!
