this is ridiculous. i been a loyal customer for 6 months and lost my wallet so i had to cancel my debit card i work 3pm-11pm and i run my errands in the morning i am very busy so i notified them on the 30th to give them my new card number to carry over the transaction they told me they had to be notified by the 25th to do that so they will charge me $ 25… WTF! then if i want to cancel my membership i have to give them a 30 day notice so they can get 1 last charge out of me… hidden fees EVERYWHERE! you guys lost a customer who always recommended you guys im going some where else…

Very hot inside, almost uncomfortable. The majority of members are men, and It’s usually so crowded along with machines being broken. Most likely I’m going to cancel my membership. Only perk is that it’s close to my home and the only gym in a few miles.

I write this revew as a warning to anyone who starts their membership with Snap Fitness. Their business practices are deplorable. Be aware you are required to give 30 day cancellation notice. If the following month starts within that 30 days you will have to pay for that month as well. When I worked in SLO and went to Kennedy I was able to cancel my membership quickly and easily. I think I even did it over the phone. Here they will not cancel the subscription until you come in during their work hours sign a form and pay your outstanding balance. Because I moved out of area and moved banks this did not get cancelled as quickly as it should. I stopped in 2 weeks after I had left the area to cancel my membership only to find out of a balance due much larger than my monthly membership dues. What? I could not pay then because of moving expenses and so I signed the form and left. They lost the form and so continued to bill me as if I was a member. Because I no longer had the bank account I had on file with them they were charging me insufficient fund fees on top of my monthly membership. I got a call from their office about the balance. I let the lady know about how I had left the area. How the form had been signed. She told me the balance would be waived and all I would need is to resign the form. I gave her my contact information to send me the form and I never received it. I figured they had found the old signed form. Until today when a different account rep called to collect. I explained again my situation. They then told me that I had accrued several hundred’s of dollars in fee’s but that all I would need to pay is 200 dollars. Like it was a favor to me. The gym was clean and cheap. The staff are nice. But the business practices to Snap Fitness are not okay. I don’t blame the people there for doing their job. It’s nice for Nipomo to have a Gym. But if they have to have these kind of practices to turn a profit I would much rather pay double and go to a gym that will treat me like a person and not an account.

If you live in Nipomo and looking for a gym which is in close proximity and has the bare essentials, this is the gym for you. If you are looking for classes, they charge extra. If you are looking for specialty equipment, this isn’t the gym for you. The equipment is not the best. I’ve tweaked my shoulder using their incline benches because there is a ton of play. There are also machines which are out of service for weeks, if not months at a time. There is no audio stream or outlets for the TVs. All of the elliptical and cardio machines have squeaks and are not need to be serviced. It could be a much better gym if management and owners showed a little more TLC.

I joined Snap Fitness a week ago and I love it! The Zumba class and the spin classes by Victoria are so much fun! I love that I can work out hard and have a blast at the same time.

This gym is great! It may seem tiny, but it gets the job done. They have a studio at the other end of the building with group exercise classes that are AMAZING! There is no Zumba class like Victoria’s, and Peter teaches an awesome Cardio Kickboxing class. It’s so convenient to have access 24 hours, as well as across the U.S. I highly recommend this gem of a gym!

I have really enjoyed working out here. They offer fitness classes early enough in the morning that I can take them before work, and the staff is always cheerful and willing to answer questions. Standard assortment of workout equipment clean machines.

I joined the gym towards the end of August… and didn’t even get a tour of the gym. When I asked about using the equipment the woman told me instructions were on the machine. I wasn’t even shown where the restrooms were. I have gone in and talked with the same woman, always getting the same answers. I asked about the personal trainer evaluation promised at the time of joining. She told me I would have to pay for it. I reminded her two sessions with a personal trainer were in the contract. She took my name and phone number and promised someone would call me that day… it has been two weeks with no call. I love that the gym is close to where I live and is open 24 hours a day but extremely disappointed I have been treated as a non person.

A great gym open 24 hours! All new equipment, very well maintained. They offer dance, aerobic, and classes designed to get you into shape. Call for a free tour and they’ll show you everything they have. Plus you get access to all SNAP fitness gyms across the nation, so if you’re traveling to the midwest or east coast, they may have a gym near your destination.
