When I first started my journey in having my wedding reception at McMenamy’s I was dealing with Jean, Jean has since retired, once that happened the customer service went down hill! I live 6 hours away and I am originally from the area, so decided to get married back at home. I was very excited to have my reception there due to the many great experiences I had, had there in the past. Before I go on to tell you all my issues with this venue let me start off by giving the good! Good: 1. Chris the decorator is amazing she went way out of her to make everything amazing and even took care of things that were not her responsibility. She decorated the entire venue and packed everything up for us to take home. 2. The food was amazing, my guest all told me how great the food was. 3. Location was convenient to highways, and our hotel. 4. Locations was very clean, could use some general updating but very nice! Now let’s start with the bad! 1. There are too many hands in the kitchen and no one relays messages to anyone. After Jean retired I was dealing with Michelle, I assume due to her less than stellar customer service she is no longer there. This lady was suppose to meet me at 11:00 on July 3rd, I confirmed this appointment days before due to the next day being the holiday. I showed up she did not! When I was finally able to reach someone days later I was told by her that it was a miscommunication and she was given the day off and didn’t think that I would show anyways(reminder I live 6 hours away) when asked why she didn’t call she just kept telling me it was a miscommunication and she wasn’t driving 45 min to work. Then when I asked to speak to the manager/owner I was hung up on. 2. The owner Bob seems very nice but don’t cross him or he will be completely rude and refuse to talk to you. Bob did call me back at 12:25 that day left a message saying he was leaving on vacation, and would be leaving at 12:30 I called back at 12:27 he was gone but I heard him in the back ground. 3. They don’t return calls! In August when I was coming home I called 16 times and started freaking our bc I had heard rumors they closed! 4. They will charge you a 3.5% surcharge for using a credit/debit card. I called the Tuesday before my wedding to ask if there was a discount if I paid in cash at the request of my now husband I was told no, no big deal, I said ok I’ll be there Thursday to pay in full with a card because I didn’t feel comfortable traveling with all that cash anyways. At no point was I told that if I used a card I would be charged more. When Bob was called by an employee to get the fee waived he was yelling at the poor girl on the phone and said that I didn’t have the money to pay and that is why I was trying to use a card! No Bob I had the money on my savings account and wanted to pay by card bc We worked my butt off and saved so I could have the wedding of my dreams! She was then told to not leave me leave till it was paid in full which resulted in call to family members to borrow till my fiancé came into town with the cash. 5. The new girl did not order my pasta selection and then told another employee I wasn’t getting it because I already was getting a discount from a special pricing that was offered when I booked. I got my pasta and it was good! Also I was told that they did not charge me for champagne mean while it was included in with my contract, I got that too! 6. Hidden charges are added. I had to pay for a bartender that was not originally only contract, fine I needed him but the bar was not filled with mixes that all other bars have my brother in law drove down to the store to get pineapple juice just so I could have a drink I wanted. He was also very rude to my guest and had a resting bitch face the entire time! If you do choose to go with this venue please make sure you follow up on everything and check in regularly. There are just too many hands in the kitchen with no communication and customer service. The only person who helped with anything is Chris she was amazing!

This dining experience was a poor experience. The food was horrible did not taste fresh. The service was okay. The food was so poor that I will never go back.
