Pastrami sandwich was to die for. The bread was so fresh, soft and delicious and, oh my, the pastrami was heaven!

The best bagels on the planet. That’s the review. Nothing else really need be said here.

When I lived in Chicago, I would often go to the original NY Bagel & Bialy located on Dempster Street in Skokie. This was my first visit to this location. It’s a simple concept that’s perfectly executed, and these are the best bagels ever… crunchy on the outside and chewy within. I had the onion on my recent visit, and this is still my favorite, although they have lots of flavors to choose from. You can also get a deli sandwich and some rugelach or a cookie to go with your order. It’s all good!

Saturday mornings are now my favorite because of the Greenwood deli. The smell of walking into this place can just put you in a better mood. The greenwood deli is a staple of Glenview Illinois and a favorite of all locals. Fresh made bagels are your go to. With the addition of some home made veggie cream cheese and a coffee, you can’t find a better breakfast in the area. The deli sandwiches are amazing and are a must try if you’re in for lunch. I love the people there and can’t wait to go back.

We got bagels & cream cheese for Boss’s Day. Kim was very nice and helpful over the phone. And everything was ready when we went to pick it up. The bagels & cream cheese were fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this place. I want to go back and try the Matzo Ball soup and potato salad.

Everyone needs to come here! I have never been to New York but this is what I assume a bagel shop would look like! Very ordinary inside– no place to sit, but that’s ok! Both the bagels and bialys are mmmmmm good! The cream cheese? Delicious. THELOX spread… DIVINE!!! Just go you won’t be disappointed! And if you are, drop your bagel off at my house! Prices are fair!

Very, very, very good bagels. Are they somehow associated with the New York Bagel & Bialy on Touhy? Either way, I have to compare the two, since that Touhy shop makes the best bagel in Chicagoland. Greenwood Deli comes pretty damn close. I have absolutely no complaints about the quality of the food. My one complaint is that the cream cheese is a little runny on a toasted bagel, and becomes too messy to eat in the car. I don’t want to wait until I get to work! One other note about this place: They sell half-dozen bags of day-old bagels for only three dollars! That is a hell of a value. Just eat one the first day(or two… let’s be honest) and stick the rest in the freezer for toasting at home. I wish that they labelled the bags though, because recently I accidentally bought chocolate chip when I wanted cinnamon raisin.

I went here about a week ago to grab something to eat as it was 3 pm by the time I finished my tests @ Lutheran General. I was famished as I didn’t have breakfast of lunch. They have an excellent selection of New York bagels, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I ended up getting the everything bagel w/lox, cream cheese & chives, tomatoes & onions. It was delish. They also have a variety of meat sandwiches like corned beef, pastrami, also very good

As close to a traditional Jewish deli you can get! Potato salad with their pastrami is seriously worth living for. Bagels, baileys and house cream cheese are also a reason to pop in!

The turkey reuben was strangely smallish, but amazingly flavored. Great kraut. Perfect turkey pastrami. Wonderful bread. The plain bagel I got wasn’t great – not chewy enough. It may not have been boiled before baked. When I read a review for a bagel that praises its softness, I run. A bagel needs to fight you back. Damn you, Einstein, AND your brother!

Stopped here for lunch and has chicken salad on a bagel, with side of potato salad. Very fresh, bagel was nice and soft. Chicken salad was fresh, but nothing terrible special. Potato salad didn’t have much taste to it. Overall it tasted semi-healthy, which is way I chose them over portillos next door. I’d go back for the bagels though.

This place is a real gem! My boyfriend brought me here for the first time last week and here we are again because I am obsessed with their delicious bagels and pastries! The bagels are always fresh and soft on the inside! The gentlemen running the place are always kind and ready to help! We’ve tried a few different things from here and I can’t wait to try their sandwiches!

This kind of find is why Unilocal is so amazing. There is zero chance I would have ever found this place otherwise. «Hmmm I need coffee — WHEREISCOFFEE, Unilocal?!» And here I arrived to find astounding bagels, bialys, decent coffee, an array of deli meats(many roasted/cured in house) and even matzah ball soup! It’s a Jewish boy’s dream! The bagels are AWESOME. So soft and chewy inside with a thin, almost brittle crust outside. I bought one, tried it, and returned the next day to buy a dozen bagels and bialys. Despite how fantastic the bagels are, the bialys are actually even better — or maybe I just like bialys more. Regardless, they’re just like I remember them growing up: light with a chewy crust and a shock of roast garlic in the center. What could be better? Please visit and review, this place is awesome. It might as well be invisible it’s so hidden though. Next to the Hallmark store and Paradise Nails in the same strip as Home Depot and Portillo’s.

One of my last meals on earth will be a corned beef sandwich. And, if I had to have it from this stop(twist my arm) I’d be more than just fine with that. I was far from my hood and happened to discover this place along the way. There was no chance I was heading back home without some good deli food, so I ordered a corned beef sandwich, a large deli pickle cut up, coleslaw, matzo ball soup, and cinnamon honey dessert delights. The deli is located in a strip mall, so you either have to be from the neighborhood or have to use your trusty Unilocal App to discover it. What a nice find with parking spots that are reserved for their customers in the big lot, and I didn’t have to be pregnant to park there — major score! You know preggo signs I so appreciated in the parking lots back in the day. So…drum roll please… my sandwich was piled high on warm rye and holy moly delicious. I was so glad my hubby was driving, because I snarfed that sucker down in the car on the way to pick up my kids. Wow wow. Deli pickles with juice everywhere as I fed my hubby the pickles and saved the soup for my boys. Good thing I had some of my sandwich left, because, like Ericka A mentions, I’ve had better. I was a little bummed. My two hungry picky eaters followed in my footsteps with the corned beef sandwich and pickles… snarf snarf. They barely touched their soup :-( Extremely reasonable. My sandwich was under $ 8, which is a steal. Cute old place with almost a butcher shop feel inside. A tall counter with stools and a high boy with chairs, makes it possible to dine in. Bagels galore if you’re in the mood. Good thing they have a New York Bagel & Bialy closer to me, but the Greenwood Deli is a special stop when I’m far from home.

I sure miss their warm egg bagels, it’s damn hard walking by after giving up gluten for my allergies. Anyway, great authentic chewy bagels! !! Good price and creamy cream cheese~ go early! !

I finally got a chance to try New York Bagel & Bialy and, «Yay! I’m a fan!» Everything we had was really good. I got an everything bagel with plain cream cheese and split a raisin walnut with strawberry cream cheese. The everything bagel was pretty standard, but the strawberry cream cheese was unexpectedly delicious. I figured I’d enjoy it, but this made it like a party in my mouth! We also got some matzo ball soup, bagels to take home and a brownie. The matzo ball soup didn’t really stand out. I’ve had better, but it hit the spot. The brownie was great and the bagels have lasted a long time in the fridge without drying out. All of this was less than $ 20, which makes it a very economical stop for lunch.
