Our favorite Chinese delivery! Food is always fresh, hot and delicious! They are always super nice and helpful on the phone as well when I’m ordering. And all the delivery people have always been particularly friendly. It’s our go-to place.

This place is what it is. A small carry out joint for Americanized Chinese food. It’s not bad and it’s not amazing. It’s just a turd maker. In all honesty, the food is ok. Portions are large and cheap. Just don’t expect 5 star food and you’ll be fine. Their crab rangoons are pretty good though.

I have been enjoying China star since 2002. The price is right and the food is top notch. I usually stick with the lunch menu which has a big portion.

I’ve tried many asian places around town, and they are by far the best. You have to try their crab rangoons.

Ive been a customer here since they first opened. Their crab Rangoon and pot stickers are homemade and are a must-try. As far as entrees are concerned, the orange chicken and mongolian beef are excellent. On top of it all, the price was less than 10 dollars for delivery for telheir lunch specials. It came super fast too. Five stars for speed, price and tastiness of food.

We ordered food for delivery tonight. The lady said it would take 40 minutes. After two hours and no delivery. We called China Star and the owner said next time order from a place thats closer to you. The owner was rude and unprofessional. She could of said we are busy and sorry for taking so long. Really bad customer service.

Decent food, fast and very polite. Their lunch specials are the best, they give you tons of good food for around six dollars !! I really like their hot and sour soup when I am sick. Always makes me feel better. Thanks for being so nice guys !

There’s a cockroach in my dish, I called them and they told me to bring the dish back and return my money without saying sorry! I need to puke…

Best Chinese takeout/delivery in the area. Chicken and beef portions are very large and can’t beat the price for the portions. White rice or fried rice of your choice is included as well. The lo mein is pretty damn good as well. Definitely the typical Friday night go-to delivery place. Orange chicken is very good, so is the sesame.

Just so-so food IMO. I happen to live just off of the alley that their delivery drivers use and these guys are maniacs on the road. I’ve witnessed them driving very quickly in and out of the alley. I watched some clown toss trash out his drivers side window onto my lawn one day while in my garage. And this morning my wife witnessed one of them driving on the SIDEWALK along Keeney Street just outside of Dickerson Engineering. One of these days someone is going to get hurt by one of these nimrods.

YUCK, ive ordered from this place a few times because of people at work, but no longer. this place is filthy and unwelcoming. the people are not friendly. the food has msgs up the wazoo and is definitely not quality products. the last draw was when we ordered like $ 50 worth of food and it came with a roach on it. we were completely disgusted and immediately called them to take the food back. I personally have boycotted the place and will never return. you can go at your own accord, but not recommended.

LOVE China Star! Aside from going to Chinatown, this is the best carry out Chinese food I’ve had! I usually get the same things off the extensive menu. Try the General Tso’s chicken, veggie egg foo young, hunan chicken, chicken or veggie fried rice, and the egg rolls! Yum! If you get the lunch/dinner specials… the portions are huge!

I don’t usually like chinese food because i eat it at home all the time but I love this place’s crab rangoon and orange chicken. Apparently the manager/head chef has a special sauce he makes every day for the orange chicken. He won’t tell me the secret! The lady, called May? Mei? whatever her name is, is very nice! She always tries to talk to you, «How was your day?» such and such. Always giving me a smile when I walk in. She is also very reasonable. If i don’t like mushrooms and want more carrots instead, she says it’s perfectly fine. Their lunch specials are only 4.95 and the portions are pretty big. They do not have a dining area but they have an area where there is a table, leather couches, and a TV for your enjoyment. It’s like eating out, but in your own living room… A nice family vibe they have going on in there.

Although I can’t recommend this place very highly, I have to give it credit for this. Best crab rangoons I’ve had(aside from Lulu’s crab and shrimp wontons in Evanston. But those aren’t called rangoons. So ha.) Crab rangoons from here are creamy through and through. Completely delicious. When i used to work in the area, These would suffice as a meal for me. Tip: Mix sweet and sour sauce with a little bit of hot sauce. Otherwise, this place is mediocre. I’ve tried various things on the menu. Either too salty or too bland. Overpriced for the healthier items too. It’s definitely not a place I’d necessarily go out of my way for. Not a place for eat-in. Definitely carry out only. Again. My one and only recommendation for this place is the crab rangoons. If you’re a fan of em, gotta try them here. Not small and stingy. Great size, and great amount of filling. You can even taste a hint of celery.

This has to be the WORST Chinese food it’s ever been my misfortune to encounter! The egg drop soup looked and tasted like colored water with stuff floating in it. The chicken wings smelled foul(no pun intended), the eggroll was tasteless, and after biting into a baby corn it crumbled like stale bread in my mouth. Their«Happy Family» dish should be called«Dysfunctional Family» as it was a mixture of things that would go well if all were fresh and properly cooked, but the combination of undercooked and overcooked items, with some being fresh, and others way past their shelf life was a complete disaster. I took two bites and threw the rest away, feeling quite queasy. I had to take some maalox to settle my stomach. This place has been here for years, but I suspect the earlier years were better ones. This was the first time I’d ordered from here, and DEFINITELYTHELAST! I’ve had better Chinese food that sat out all day on a buffet. There are plenty of other places in the area for Chinese food. Do yourself a favor and seek them out.

Once again we ordered this place for lunch at work: Chop Suey(or Poo-ey) — was rated poor 1 star, everything else 3 stars(average) Make sure you have napkins and something underneath as its really messy. They load up the sauce and make it very difficult to work and eat at same time. 2 of 5 this time due to the chop suey… but you know what youre going to get from this place.

We like this place for carry out. I guess you could eat there at one of the 3 – 4 window seats, but that would just be weird. Like inviting yourself in to someone’s living room to eat, while watching their TV. Yes it does have that family room vibe to it. Which is actually cool. The spicier sweet dishes seem to be their forte. Mongolian Beef, General Tso, Orange Chicken. The lo miens, fried rice and regular brown sauce fare, not so much. But then again why would you want to eat that bland stuff anyway? Live a little!
