Doesn’t deserve not even an a star. Went there after work for dinner with my family and after waiting a while to get a menu. We were handed the menu and the women left us to go to the kitchen and I clocked her 11 mins when my husband decided to leave he has enough. We were the only ppl there and 1 waiting in the pick up area. Why the long wait if there were no customers ??? That’s a shame left and we are happy we did. We ended up going to a better place our new place was clean and attentive unlike this dirty crappy place with high prices. I much rather give my money to Chef Ping that are similar in prices then this rat hole.

First visit, food tasty and ample portions. Fried rice different than most, not loaded with rice and scraps of protein. This was loaded with large bite size pieces of meat and a lot of scrambled egg; also chopped carrots and peas. Entrees had good portions and were tasty. Not overwhelming with atmosphere. Appears to be the literal mom & pop business with their kids. I will be back to try other menu items. The biggest surprise I had; it’s the first Chinese Restuarant in my life that charged for hot tea(?).

Had carry out only and the food was darn good. Since we were watching our little grandson Mrs. K. and I seemed to have been eating inside the house for the 4 day visit. I had their 3 meat lo mein. Which was beef, chicken and shrimp. The small order was more than enough even for a large appetite like mine. The egg rolls and the crab Rangoon was not what I was used to. Their crab Rangoon had more crab than cream cheese now there is a novel idea.

By far, the best hot and sour soup in the area. I’ve been going here since I was a 10 and they have great customer service, with Chinese food that is tasty and large size portions. If you are craving Chinese food that is actually decent, go here!

We ate there one Sunday and here’s what I gonna say. Failed! Starting with the server, it seems that she doesn’t care at all. Then we ordered the 8 treasure duck. Omg! It smells and taste so fishy. I told the owner or the manager about it and she doesn’t care. I promised myself not to go back there again but on Tuesday(03÷10÷15) my daughter wants to order food nearby and We end up ordering there again. Like giving them a second chance. We ordered a combination lomein which is salty, too much soy sauce, but that ok, we can pass on that. We also ordered mango smoothie with tapioca and guess what? There’s a lot of hair in it. I called them to complaint and here’s what the lady told me. Come back here and I’ll give you another one. I can’t believe she said that! It’s their fault and they want me to use my gas to go back there?! I told them in their adds it’s say they deliver, but whent I told them to deliver it they say they don’t have their driver. Wtf? So, to those who wants to try their hair, go ahead! Eat/order at your own risk!

Sooo fever of 103.5 just saw doc want some hot soup, lady at front desk recommends this place. K granted I didn’t look my best but I was sick and with the restaurant being right next to the hospital, its not uncommon to see a sick person come in to a hole in the wall Chinese shop for some soup! The lady looks me up and down stares at my walgreens bag(holding my MK wallet I may add) and my meds and rudely asks me if she can help me… um yeah seat me I want soup… k Chinese hole in the walls aren’t known for hospitality so I continue on… she slams water down and walks away… white lady walks in(I’m Indian) and she sweetly welcomes her and asks her to let her know what she can do for her. What? Seriously… racist maybe? I walked out… and drove away in my beamer… do not treat me like a hobo just bc of the color of my skin… and so what if I was a hobo… I’m paying to eat at your establishment… treat me with respect… these are the kind of people that will probably spit in your food(unless your a non hobo caucasion).

Love this place. The staff is great! Been coming here for 10 years+ they seem to deliver everywhere. The Veggie Delight and crab rangoons are my favorite and the homemade sweet and sour sauce is excellent!

Love this place! My mother and I are regulars there for multiple reasons. 1) They serve authentic Chinese food. The orange chicken actually has a citrus orange tang to it and the lo mein is very light and fresh. None of their food seems to have that heavy, fatty feel to it that panda express and other fast food Chinese places do. The ingredients are fresh and the flavors are authentic. 2) The food is delicious! The hot and sour soup is to die for. I have tried this soup at multiple locations and none compare to how good it is here. If you purchase a lunch special, you get it as an appetizer(or egg drop) as well as wonton chips with a side of sweet(plum)? sauce and the amazing hot mustard. You have to try this mustard if you go! It is spicy but is so much better than the crap in a packet. It goes so well with the egg rolls and even on the fried rice, which are also both delicious. My favorite dishes are the governor’s chicken and the egg foo young. Amazing! 3) The staff is very friendly and always takes the time to have a conversation with us. The restaurant is owned by one family and they are such great people. 4) The prices are very affordable. I am not sure if this is just because we get the lunch special, but our bill is never more than 14 dollars for two people, if we order water. 5) The portions are large for the price. With the soup and wonton chips, I never end up finishing my meal unless I purchase something lighter, like the lo mein, which does not come with rice or an egg roll on the side. 6) It is very convenient. My mom and I love this place because it makes for a great lunch before or after we go grocery shopping at Tony’s, which is right next door. It is never crowded, so we are always in and out. 7) If you are a fan of fruit smoothies, they have a large variety of great smoothies, also, and they can come with tapioca pearls, if you want. They have a separate to go stand at the front with its own door, so you definitely do not need to sit down to get food from here. I definitely recommend this place if you want authentic Chinese food and are in the area!

Ordered take out from here, and was not impressed. Like, at all. Let’s start with the egg drop soup. It was neon orange, had corn kernels in, and tasted like nothing. No flavor whatsoever. Not even salt. The egg rolls were okay, but really greasy. There was grease pouring out of the other side when I took a bite. I was hungover so I was actually kind of happy about that extra grease. This is the only reason for the extra star! The orange chicken was not good. HUGE hunks of chicken, and not in a good way. Also is it possible for orange chicken to be too orange-y? It smelled artificial and a bit like orange furniture polish. Shudder. I also asked them if I could get fried rice instead of steamed rice, and they yelled at me and said that everything is a la carte. That should have been my queue to rethink ordering from them. All of this for $ 16 — which is overpriced in my opinion. I’m seriously regretting my decision now… One last thing, why do they not include napkins with the take out orders? It’s such a small thing, but it kind of annoys me.

Probably one of the best Chinese joints you’ll ever find outside of the city… 168 never lets you down on their customer service or their quality and taste of their food. Very attentive and friendly servers 100% of the time. Some of my all-time favs from 168 include: Mongolian Beef Sweet & Sour Chicken Egg Rolls Pot Stickers It’s just outside of the Chicago and worth the trip if you’re looking for some authentic tasty Chinese!

I have been coming here for a little over a year now. It’s the best Chinese place around. The tastes are authentic. The prices and portions are fair and good. Service is quick and correct. I can’t really say too much more good things about 168! Dish recommendations: szechwan string beans, salt & pepper shrimp, orange beef, sesame chicken, crispy duck, hung shew chicken, cantonese noodles with bbq pork, singapore noodles. For the owners: I hope you can update the interior so it looks more modern or contemporary. The ceiling tiles are kind of scary. But, I come for the food not the décor.

Walked in at 11:35am … Restaurant was empty except for two policemen having their lunch. One would think the owners would be happy to see another customer, however, she did not seemed happy at all. She had a look of annoyance. I should have just left but I had this craving for Chinese noodle. I ordered the Pork LO Mei for $ 8.50 The food, however, was good. The noodle came out crispy, just the way I like it. The owner(husband) came out of the kitchen and took my empty plates. Now, he was a nice guy! He should work out front and keep his wife in the back. I would come back again but only for take out unless they keep her in the back.

For Chinese there is no other choice in the area. My favorite is the Singapore Noodles that is one of the best I have ever had. For anything better you need to try Joy Yee in Evanston.

Very friendly, heavy on fresh veggies! We had the vegetarian bbq«pork» with vegetables and vegetarian«chicken» curry. I have to say I liked the first item better, but both were good. We also got banana and strawberry smoothies, which were really tasty. I don’t know if they were vegan, though. They were pretty creamy. The vegetables were fresh and cooked very nicely. They were kind to my 5 year old son, but no crayons or anything like that, so bring your own if you’ve got kids. Dining room seemed clean enough, but the bathroom left a bit to be desired in cleanliness. Overall, I highly recommend, especially if you are vegetarian or vegan… you can get some unique veg items that are scarce in the northern suburbs. We’ll be back!

This place is gross!!! I went in with my boss because he said the place was amazing. When I walked in it smelled like a dirty fish bowl. Then I saw the only waitress changing a babies diaper right on one of the tables that patrons would eat on. The bathroom was filthy dirty and it there was a mop and bucket filled with dirty water that looked like it has never been changed. I cant believe this place is still open for business. Im sure this place violates many health codes. If you value your health, I would avoid this dump.

First of all, they have Singapore noodles… enough said. The pork fried rice has big chunks of pork in it. I’ve only done carry out and the two times I’ve been in, I haven’t seen anyone actually dining in the restaurant so if you don’t like that empty restaurant feel, this place might not be for you. I subtracted one star because they were out of the two flavors I wanted for bubble tea slushie the day I went. =)
