Wow! My new breakfast spot when I’m n the area. Everyone is so nice. All food is made fresh in house.

YUM! Stopped here based off previous Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed! I got their Acai Berry Green Tea unsweetened (doing the Whole 30 *no dairy, sugar, bread, etc.!) & it was AH-​MAZING! Cannot wait until I’m off the W30 and can get their Almond Joy coffee! The place is really cute & small and the employees are super sweet, which is always so important to me! Wish I lived closer but will return whenever I’m in the area!

Literally has the best bacon egg and cheese on a bagel I have ever eaten, very friendly and helpful wait staff, and amazing drinks as well

Delicious flavored coffee this Monday with a toffee flavor. Loved the taste and the cup. Perfect size to drink while chatting with a friend.

I love this place! Staff is really friendly here and they serve excellent sandwiches. I especially like the Philly Roast Beef, it’s outstanding. Coffees, espresso drinks and pastries are great too. I had a chocolate macaroon for dessert and it was so good! In addition to what’s on the lunch menu they have some interesting specials too; next time I’m planning to try one. You’ve gotta stop in.

This afternoon I ordered the Hail Caesar Chicken Wrap and after the friendly employee informed me that the chicken had run out. Oops, short term memory. He responded kindly with another protein option and I was off to finish my journey East. Quick save and thank you.

I had a leprechaun mocha concoction. It was delicious!
Good people, good drinks, good chalk boards! Holy smokes the chalk boards are plentiful and magnificent.
Prices sizes even drink concepts similar to Starbucks.

This is such a neat buisiness. They have bagels from Brooklyn, local eggs, and coffee ground in Branford. Their meats are roasted in house and the breads are also made in house. The care and thought that is put in here is evident. I had an iced coffee and the chicken salad wrap. Delicious!

The coffee was very good and the person who was working was very friendly… I highly recommend trying this place out.

Been here a hand full of times now and it’s always a pleasure. The cabinet was especially stocked today, picked up a homemade chocolate chip granola bar, a latte and an awesome croissant.

The people here are super nice and welcoming. The coffee is better than Starbucks! Love coming here.

I love this place. Not only do they have great coffee, their baked goods, pastries and sandwiches and salads are the absolute best in the area. They make everything on premise.

Cute little place with a good variety of coffee and chocolate libations, and some quirky desserts.
It is very nice inside and the staff was friendly and eager for us to try their products.
We tried a dessert and it was delicious, with a certain subtlety to its sweetness that spoke well of the hands that crafted it. The coffee and chocolate drinks we tried were good enough, but not as outstanding as their names suggested.
It is not exactly cheap, but I would say that it is fairly priced for the type of establishment it is and how it looks.
It deserves a better view though, as it just overlooks some sort of convenience store and unkempt forested area. Shame, because it just draws you to sit down and sip your merry minutes away.

Great little bakery/​café. Staff knowledgable and very friendly. The owners were in evidence and very nice to talk to. Wonderful latte made with real skill and a bright clean ambiance. Selection is a bit limited and on a cold day you get a gust of cool air each time someone opens the door, but still definitely worth a visit!

Very nice and friendly staff, the coffee is amazing and the food is like always very tasty. I like the fact that they have a lot of choices. You will always find something you will love.

What a great little find I stumbled upon! The iced coffee and macaroons were perfection! I would give 5 stars but the bread on our chicken salad seemed a little stale. But even that being said I was really happy and enjoyed! Def will be back!!!

Amazing place. Soups are so GOOD that they taste great on a hot day.
Sandwiches are fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
There are no bad days there. Everyday is good. Lovely, kind staff.

Well, I’m lucky to say that the only salon I trust in Connecticut is in Newtown! After asking my favorite worker there about good nearby cafes, she recommended Café Xpresso! And boy, I’d have to say that it was one of the best places I’ve been in quite a while. The food was PHENOMENAL (though I must admit, a bit salty for my taste) as well as FILLING! My espresso was poured perfectly (a problem many other cafes tend to have) and the staff was lovely. Not only that, but it only cost $ 15 for two sandwiches and two drinks. Where I’m from, that’s the price for one person. It was awesome to get such a good deal with still high quality food. I’m definitely going to keep this place in mind whenever I need a good pick-​me-​up and I’m around.
A text I sent to a friend a few minutes after finishing my food: «Not sure if it was the good dose of caffeine or the epic sandwich I just had, but that place put me in an awesome mood!»

I’ll update my review once I try some of the delicious sounding items off the menu, but as far as their espresso goes — this place is top notch. I was nervous that the flavored lattes would be too sweet, but both the nutella latte & almond joy latte were decadent without being overly sugary.
They have a variety of breakfast sandwiches, salads, soups, etc that are made in house with fresh, local ingredients. Milk comes from Arethusa Farms. The flavored syrups are much higher quality than Monin or Starbucks syrups.
The inside is bright with a few tables and chairs, and the patio has tables & umbrellas for the warmer days. Service is quick & friendly. Quality better than Village Perk!

The staff here is so very nice! Everyone I spoke with was super friendly and very welcoming. That was definitely my favorite part of coming here.
I got the toffee crunch coffee, as per the enthusiastic recommendation of the barista. It was very good, if not a bit expensive, but they get a pass on the prices since this is a small local business and not Starbucks. I’d much rather go here any day! I was also thrilled to see their gorgeous display of macaroons, and happily sampled the Nutella and salted caramel flavors. I fully intend on trying the other flavors, like honey lavender and pistachio!
I agree with the review that mentioned the seating area is unfortunately small. The décor is lovely; very modern and elegant, but I can imagine it’s not very comfortable if there’s a full house.
I also kind of worry whenever a new business opens in this spot because it seems to be a dead zone. I feel like most people drive down route 25 just to get from point A to point B and aren’t interested in stopping in between. I think Café Xpresso would really thrive in a downtown area (of which we’re severely lacking around here in suburbia), but I still wish them the best. I’ll be back for sure!
