Windy Brow is open seasonally and I cant wait for the season to begin. They carry fresh produce and apples. Including pick your own apples. What make Windy Brow stand out from other farm places is their ice cream and their Apple Butter. The Apple Butter has so much flavor. It reminds me of the Apple Butter we use to get as a kids. The canned and bottle products have limited runs and they do sell out. Great quality.

I have been getting my seasonal produce from Windy Brow for 26 years. The family atmosphere, amazing smells, and unbelievably delicious fruits and vegetables keep me coming back even though I now live in NYC. When I leave, I always have more fruit than I can carry, and love to share with friends when I bring my haul back to the city and the prices encourage me to buy even more)! Their apples have made me an apple snob, and I turn my nose at apples from anywhere else, and don’t get me started on the superiority of their peaches! In addition to the fruits and veggies, house made cider doughnuts, pies, drinking cider, and ice cream are all worthy of a taste! Love, love, love.

I gave one star because that’s the lowest possible rating you can give. I was going to give it 3 until I went into the store and the customer service was horrible and nasty. they made a laughing stock out of us when asked a genuine question and they ripped us off. drove two hours to get here. NEVERCOMINGBACKAGAIN!!! come here if you want to be laughed at and bad apples.

Great peaches and plums! Love the shop there, too! Such a great atmosphere with wonderful people working — feels like I’ve stepped back in time.

Love this small town orchard with tons of hidden deliciousness. Must Try: 1) Pies– Their pies are AMAZING. You really have to check them out, and then order a few for Thanksgiving to wow the extended family. 2) Apple Picking– Huge selection, wagon ride, pumpkins. Quintessential Fall in one stop. 3) Apple Cider Donuts– Melt in your mouth goodness. 4) Homemade Ice Cream– FANTASTIC. Modern flavors that are always changing. Fun toppings. Super rich and creamy, I actually recommend ordering down a size because it’s so rich that it makes you ill if you eat too much. 5) Peaches & Peach Festival in August. Atmosphere: Decidedly country & rustic. Service: Nice people. In addition to the items mentioned above, they also usually(but not always) have a variety of other things in their store including produce, cider, soap, local cheese, knick knacks, spice mixes, herbs, bread, honey, jams, etc.

Got ice cream(and honey and blueberry preserves) here yesterday. We had tried their ice cream before at Mohawk House and figured it would be worth stopping by. Ice cream is excellent and it was nice to find local honey. They don’t have a huge ice cream selection, which is fine since the quality is amazing. Can’t wait to try the blueberry preserves. Will be returning later in the summer!

This farm has been around for a long time and the current owners are very serious about what they do. Second generation is getting involved and has been down to the White House. If you like fruit pies, you won’t be disappointed. They have added ice cream, which I have not tryed. Worth a half hour drive out of your way. An old school farm, don’t look for anything fancy.

This orchard is not as polished as some but what it has is excellent. The pick your own orchard grows some of the less common apples that I look for. Under appreciated varieties like goldrush, pippin, greening, jonagold and several others. They also have the common apples you get in stores along with other local produce.

I have been going to Windy Brow with a group of friends for many of the last 12 years. We used to go together every fall and get a bunch of apples and then go home and slice them up to bake fresh apple pies. Soooo tasty. I went again last weekend with a different group of friends and we had a great time. The orchard is beautiful and you get to take a wagon ride down from the store(by the street) to the orchards. A couple things to note if you are going for apple picking: 1) call ahead and see if apples are in season and how picked over the orchards are. Last weekend it was hard to pick your own … all the fruit that was easy pickins’ was picked already. Luckily I found a picker(pole with basket) on the ground. Look for those if you need them, they are there. 2) the orchard is pretty dog friendly. You can’t bring your four legged friend into the store, but they will let him down to the orchards and as long as no one on the wagon objects they can ride down too. The store has a great variety of fresh local honey, apple butter, jams & preserves, ice cream and my favorite cider donuts(oh, and fresh cider too!!).

This is a great local orchard and farm stand. Fresh peaches, blueberries, plums, tomatoes, corn, etc. and pick your own apples in the fall. It’s not as crowded as some of the big places but they have a great assortment of apples to choose from. It’s a good time. Nice people. Oh. And don’t forget the homemade ice cream.
