The Carroll Center for the Blind is a wonderful rehabilitation center that has changed so many visually impaired people’s lives. It serves adults and children from all over the country and sometimes outside the country. The programs focus on skills to assist people in living independently.

Their optician, Terri, provides great service and my glasses were half of what u would have paid at another eye place. They also have magnifiers!

Inspiring is the word. Having spent a lot of time around hospitals, doctors, nurses, rehab specialists, physical therapists and occupational therapists over the last few years while helping aging family members, I know a fair amount about both vision loss and the medical world. So I can say without a doubt that the Carroll Center’s programs and staff are really wonderful, and I want to take this opportunity to let others know that. I am so impressed by the thoughtfulness, expertise and genuine kindness I have seen at the Center!”

Whether newly blind, or for many years, or with low vision, this is an underserved population in our state and country. It is moving when you hear clients speak of what they have accomplished at the end of their stay at The Carroll Center for the Blind, the self confidence gained, the newer outlook on life that essential skills to get by in life mean to them, and of the warm feelings they have for the caring exhibited by the teachers and counselors. I support them and if everyone just could give something, no matter how small to this cause, what a difference you could make in someone’s life.

The Carroll Center has helped thousands of blind individuals for over 80 years. From very young children to the elderly, people come from all over the world to receive services at the center. The Carroll Center has a four star rating (The highest possible) on Charity Navigator. You can be confident that your donations are being used to help blind individuals RIGHT NOW. A special place. :)

Think twice before contributing!
I donated here and have had a devil of a time getting any acknowledgment for the IRS… only a «thank you» in an email when I wrote asking again after two months which doesn’t quite satisfy the IRS requirements. Never donating here again!

The Carroll Center for the blind is a great school that supports and helps blind people in a lot of different ways.
Volunteers are always welcome.
I will recommend you to come for a visit !!
