Beer and wine. nothing special here. just your average liquor store. The place is a bit small. There not very wheelchair friendly. it tight to move around. And no power door. So if your in a wheelchair you will need to bring someone to help you.

Nothing special. The joint on Walnut just down the street is much better. Beer selection is average.

«Sir could you hold that from the bottom…» «Sir…Sir» The guy at the checkout had stopped what he was doing with a line about 4 customers deep to make sure I wasn’t holding my coors light 30-pack by the designated handle it comes with. I finally adhered to his request when I realized he was actually talking to me. He proceeded to explain that«sometimes the bottoms can break» and that«he would be the one to clean it up». Thanks bro, just let me buy my beer in peace. As if I hadn’t carried two of these across campuses every Thursday for 4 years. Anyways, this place is fine, prices are average for the area, and it’s next to the CVS that everyone in the neighborhood frequents.

It’s clean inside. OK I said something nice. I’m not sure why it’s called«discount». You can get better prices elsewhere. And watch the price tickets: the«each @ 2 for 1» price is prominently displayed on a lot of bottles, but you have to search carefully for the single bottle price. Service is indifferent at best.

Open until 11 pm, which is later than just about anywhere else in the area. Mr. K’s has a great selection of wine and beer. The staff are extremely helpful and won’t hesitate to spend a lot of time with you making a selection.

Who Cares, they sell booze and beers. What else do you need to know.

I just stopped by Mr. K’s last night for the first time. It’s so convenient for those of us who spend so many hours stuck on route 9, and while it may be smallish, the staff was so friendly and helpful. It may not look like much from the outside, but I was so impressed with the knowledgable staff and will definitely be going back!

The lady at the counter bantered too long so the line got unnecessarily long. When I called to tell them the $ 7 bottle of cider I just bought from them was sour, the guy told me he could replace it with Woodchuck. Go to Newton Highlands Wine & Spirits on Walnut Street or Urban Grape next to Starmarket.

I have to give it to this place, it may be small, but it carries all the essentials of a good liquor store, including a fairly decent beer and wine selection. The staff is friendly and the prices are a bit high but it is as convenient as you can get especially if you are coming down Route 9/Boylston and there are no other Liquor Stores in the vicinity. Plus it is next store to a new CVS and that makes it even more convenient. I give it extra kudos for having late hours and braving the many snow storms by staying open.

First off the guy who own’s the place, I assume he’s Mr. K. looks just like Sid Ceasar, does it get better that that? He has the greatest staffand a fairly good selection. This is as townie as Newton gets. The guy is a jewel. «Ya know what wrong with this fuckin’ town? Too many millionaires, that’s what wrong with it» Worth the drive!

Since my ex-boyfriend’s fake ID is posted on this place’s Wall of Shame, I used to have the pleasure of spending many a friday and saturday evening running into Mr. K’s to buy him and his friends alcohol while he/they sneakily waited inconspicuously in the strategically parked minivan outside the Chinese restaurant. Open decently late and carrying the essentials(your basic beers, cheap wine, and the standard hard alcohol), Mr. K’s is an okay option. Prices are kind of high, though. And a creepy dude who I went to high school with worked there, but he’s gone now. And I think they may carry YuengLing… or is that Fannon’s?( )
