I heard about Diva from the Boston Globe Magazine, and being a sucker for anything vintage I of course had to try it out. The selection was pretty excellent, and I walked away with a few very nice pieces. The only trouble was, shopping here you have the feeling of being watched – very carefully. The salespeople were very knowledgeable and helpful, but every time you picked up a piece, they’d say«do you want to see more by this designer?» and then pull out a more expensive ring or necklace. Kind of pushy. I get that it’s a tough market, but it’s still a little cloying. Overall though, definitely worth the trek. I picked up a very nice little vintage pin that’ll make a great pendant, and a few cheaply priced but well-made necklaces. Prices range from super-expensive(upwards of $ 2000 but a better deal than you’ll get elsewhere for the same piece) to very reasonable($ 10 for a nice pair of contemporary earrings).
