Plaster Fun Time

I took my 5 year-​old child to a party there recently. The place is nice enough, and the kids had a fun with their friends. The staff is awful though. There were only two people there to help other customers and to manage the party. They seem to have no experience with kids or relating well to customers. Alyssa, one of the staff members, was particularly rude. With project in hand, my son and I took a seat on the corner of a bench, waiting to be picked up. Alyssa marched over and ordered us to clear the table. I asked if there was anywhere where we could sit, but she chose to respond in the rudest tone that we needed to stand if we wanted to remain there. There were many empty seats in this large venue, but clearly this staff member has not had training in customer service. I will not take my business there in the future.

Great place for a small group birthday celebration. Great selections of plaster and color. Very useful staff.

This place is great! You can never go wrong spending an hour or two at Plaster Fun Time. The staff is friendly, attentive and eager to help you out. They have lots of plaster to choose from which makes coming back so much fun too!

We love Plaster Fun Time! It’s the perfect activity for keeping all of my kids busy and happy at the same time. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and even remember my kid’s names when we visit (which is pretty frequently!). We had a birthday party for my 6 year kid last year, and we’re planning another for my soon-​to-​be 9 year old as well. Aside from the awesome party hosts, the best thing about the parties is that every guest gets to take their artwork home that day. Love it!

I recently came in with my brother and had a great time. The prices are very reasonable and it’s a great way to kill an afternoon and not spend a fortune. The place looked well kept and the staff was very helpful and super nice. We definitely be coming back!

This place rules!

We recently held our 4 year old’s birthday party there. The price is right and the selection of plaster molds is absolutely wonderful. The children did have fun. I also appreciated that you do not have to give a head count ahead of time and in our case, we had 5 no shows… But that is where the fun ends.
When we reserved our party, we were told we would have a helper for set up and the activity and we would do cake on our own. Sounded like a plan! Our helper set up everything well, but when the guests came she was MIA. She briefly explained what the kids should do and then our helper kept on leaving the party to ring customers in the front. She did not seem to have a lot of experience with preschoolers. I have been to similar parties elsewhere which went flawlessly. The studio was packed and there were only 2 staff members in the building. I kept on having to ask our staff member to help our guests. In the end, several parents had to finish their kids’ art works, because they received no guidance from a sweet but overworked staff member. One guest was told that there was no time for her kid to finish.
The same overworked staff member gave 4 year olds wet art work to carry and did not explain to them that it could break and to be careful… The real kicker was when each child was given back their art work, under was a brochure which prominently featured the price of the party. In reality, we were telling all of our guests the price of the party… slightly tasteless and made us look less then smooth.
We also ordered a cake for the party and checked if it could be accommodated in their freezer. They said it would fit. It did not. We were lucky that it was slightly below freezing and our JP licks ice cream cake stayed well in the car. On another note, the bathroom was disgusting an inadequate with the amount of children at the studio.
The final straw was when I called to complain mostly about the cake, lack of service, and our friends being given a brochure with the price of the party, I was told that the tape of my party would be reviewed. When I called back to discuss and was told that I would not be getting any refund. I said that’s fine, I would write an online review. The owner accused me of ‘shaking him’ down. Oh, well, you pay for what you get and for $ 10.95 per kid, you get a cheap party. It does not have to be cheap, Plasterfuntime majorly cuts corners and is not concerned with customer service.

My friends asked the employees if we were their oldest customers, and they said «last week we had a birthday party full of elderly people.» That’s so cute. It was really peaceful painting my little plaster thing, and just having some quality time with the girls. I’m definitely going back to make more art!
