Valvoline Instant Oil Change

As God is my judge, I will never, ever, ever return to this location. The staff here was the most condescending, patronizing, mean-​spirited people I have dealt with at any VIOC location in the past 3 decades.
The full synthetic oil change was problem free. When it came time to get a receipt, they said the printer was «broken» at mid-​day on Friday, August 20^th. They asked for my email address, wrote it down correctly and said they’d email the receipt to me later in the day. They never sent the receipt, by email or mail.
I called late that day and was given a run around by the «manager.» He said he could not email it, as the box wasn’t checked. Huh? I asked him to drop it in the mail and he responded by asking me to return to the location, as the printer was fixed. I said that it wasn’t convenient as we were headed out on vacation. He finally agreed to mail the receipt.
By the following Wednesday, still no receipt. I called again on Wednesday, and the ever-​belligerent «manager» said that he’d put it in the mail on Monday, and maybe the U.S. Postal Service was my problem… fast forward to the following Friday, still no receipt.
I finally called the 1 – 800 # and in short order, after speaking with a kind, sensitive woman (Melissa?) I had my receipt. Thank you, Melissa.
By-​the-​way, the U.S. Postal Service has still not delivered the receipt that was «mailed» from Newton Highlands VIOC.
What I know today, more than a week later, is what I knew that first Friday afternoon. That condescending, patronizing, mean-​spirited manager, was a lazy, lying piece of crap. So you saved on postage, what $ 0.49?
Oh, aren’t you the frugal rising star in VIOC management.

I’m a big fan of VIOC as the service is quick and friendly. I always like to ask a lot of questions about what I’m getting and people don’t seem to get annoyed.
Not the cheapest way to get your oil changed, but I’m happy that they top off fluids, check and maintain tire pressure, and other little things non-​car guys like myself might not think of.
I had my transmission and differential fluids changed here as well. I had purchased my car used and didn’t really know the service history. I may have overpaid, but I was happy to have peace of mind. It was painless to get this service done as I just had to sit in my car a little longer.

I was in and out so fast I’m not quite sure what happened. All I know is that I got the shortest oil change of my life (under 10 minutes), while I was still in the car (I’ve never heard of this). I’m never getting an oil change at a gas station again. I can’t believe it took me 15 years to discover Valvoline! Oh well, better late than never!

Really frustrated with the customer service, I took my car yesterday for the usual oil change service, but they couldn’t do it because the ran out of something and they said they waiting for the order to arrive, so I’ve been told I can bring my car this morning, I did so but again I’ve been told they could do it because the order hasn’t arrived yet, it was really waste of time and gas.

These guys are always really nice, fast, and efficient– everything you want in an oil change (which, honestly, isn’t much, but basically it’s feeling like they’re actually going to do the job with a good attitude and a smile). I have no complaints. Really like.

They could not have been nicer — or more efficient. I was overdue for oil change and needed the car looked over — drive a lot. Called them and was in and out in 20 mins with oil change, radiator fluid and check up on safety systems. Will go back.

Great spot. No wait, was in and out in under 15 minutes. Katherine (sp.?) walked me through everything. The whole process went smoothly and she explained the charges very well. Didn’t force any up-​selling on me, and was very polite and professional. Will definitely be back!

I found the people friendly and flexible. I needed an oil change and to put on my snow tires. I called the guys up and they said sure — they would exchange my snow tires with regular tires and change the oil. (Note: my snow tires were already on rims). They did the work fine and I’m all set for winter.

I’ve come here several times over the years to get my oil changed. It’s always fast, and they are always courteous. There is a fair amount of upselling, but when I say no they don’t push. I’d recommend going on the valvoline website before getting an oil change, they almost always have some sort of a discount/​coupon you can use.

In and out in under 20 minutes, no BS. Friendly staff that did not hassle us.

I’m a first timer here and from start to finish I had a great experience. I went on my lunch break and was in and out within 20 minutes. I needed a new air filter and my battery needs replacing. I opted only for the air filter and they were not pushy at all.
Not only that but they gave me a first timer discount as well as a discount card for $ 10.00 off next time.
Super reasonable (way cheaper than Jiffy Lube). Super nice and were happy to explain everything they did. As well as prompt.
Definitely recommend it and will be using them again.

Nice little Valvoline Instant Oil Change shop. They’ll change your oil and can also do some minor maintainance such as replacing brake/​signal lamps and changing air filters. Jose the manager is honest and will not try to upsell you on unneeded services. You can leave your car and head over to tedeschi’s next door for a slush puppy and some lotto tickets while you wait. Overall a good place for an oil change.

I’ve been here twice for a conventional oil change, and both times i’ve worked with Jose the assistant manager. He is beyond friendly and most of all he is knowledgeable.
He doesn’t push for extras, he informs you of what you might need and he basically talks to you like you’re a human being. This place is not like other chains that might push you to get things that you don’t need and pretty much try to scare you into getting the service or product installed.
He asks permission to do everything, he even asked permission to put the reminder sticker on my car for when my next oil change is due.
The service was fast, I had extra services done on my car but if you’re just going for an oil change you’re going to be leaving within 15 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Thank you Jose

Went here after purchasing a living social deal for an oil change and can not say more great things about this place. I was in and out in about 15 minutes and the 3 gentleman helping me were great. They did go through all the different oil changes I could upgrade too but there was no pressure to purchase like some places do. They also gave me a coupon for my next oil change. I would recommend in a heartbeat.

I went in at 8:10am, was out in 15 minutes. The guys working there are very nice, very professional, courteous and efficient. I stayed in my car while they changed the oil, and they told me some things I need to do but didn’t pressure me to do anything (like one of the Jiffy Lubes I have been to).

As odd as it may sound, I enjoy working on my own cars. It gives a certain primitive sense of satisfaction, combined with the fact that I generally don’t trust mechanics. However, the girlfriend was heading out of town the next day on a lengthy road trip, and needed the oil changed. Trust and satisfaction aside, sometimes it’s just easier to just have someone else do things for you, which brought us here.
Called up and they said to just drive in whenever we wanted Got to the shop (only customers there on a Saturday afternoon), pulled around back, and into a bay. Rolled down the window and gave them some basic information, including what options we wanted. They had no lounge so we were told to just wait in the car while they performed the work. After a few noises and about 5 – 10 minutes, we paid our dues, and went on our way.
People were friendly enough, and place seemed clean for a shop. Seemed a bit pricey ($ 80+), but compared to a dealership for someone who doesn’t have the means to do an oil change themselves, it was a huge savings, both in time and money. If you don’t mind putting in a touch more effort and time, I’d change the oil yourself, but for a quick and easy way, they did a good job.

The mechanics here were very helpful, friendly, and quick. They topped off all of my fluids and wrote some notes in the comment box of things I should look to consider the next time I come around. Very informative! I think that if I had to get any other maintenance fluids for my vehicle, I would go to them first, despite the minor price inflation. The service was well worth it.

A little more expensive than NTB or Speedy around the corner, but you can’t beat the friendly and quick service. No exaggeration from the time that I pulled my car into the bay to the time I pulled out 9 friggin’ minutes. If I didn’t see the oil leave the engine I wouldn’t have belived it were possible. They topped off all the fluids and didn’t try to up sell me on anything, very admirable.
