Went here for a bachelorette party to see the dueling piano show. I’ll start by saying that as big as their personalities were, the musicians were a bit lackluster, and I think the audience sang more than they did. The bar is cash-only, which is a huge knock in my book; yet the entire time, attendees were encouraged to buy drinks, buy songs, buy roasts, buy toasts on the board… buy, buy, buy, buy. By the end of the show, when the DJ started cranking the usual 30-second tunes, most of the crowd was too drunk to stand, leading to several accidents, and the bouncers are not much help. I’ve definitely seen better dueling piano shows elsewhere — and better clubs for that matter. Not a bad spot for a bachelor or bachelorette party if you have enough cash to «make it rain,» and there is a spectacular view over Thames Street and out to the harbor.

this place was alright. Music was pretty solid and definitely catered to the bachelorette crowds. I do have to wonder if it is the same set list every night. As other posters have stated, there is a catwalk/balcony thing which they lets groups take turns parading and dancing on so the bachelorette parties feel like they are getting special attention — all eyes on the bride and her ladies! We received a free cover card while walking up to this place which was nice because we needed to save our cash for the bar. No credit cards accepted here, so be forewarned. There is an ATM inside though for easier access to the greenbacks. Drink prices were reasonable but we do have a feeling that the alcohol was watered down, or at least the Jameson was. Beer selection was standard — there was nothing worth noting there. Several of the girls in our group were enamored with the bartender, Devin. He wasinteresting to talk with all night while also being attentive to the other patrons. We’d come back to see Devin, but I’m sure there are other bars in Newport that are just as fun too!

Came here for a bachelorette night out and can’t complain. The promo girl outside handed us free entry passes. One of the girls in our party worked out a little back area for us by the dance floor so we could have out own space. We drank and danced all night. The music was good! Big thanks to bouncer Norm for watching over our section and putting up with our antics. Only minus I can remember is the bar is cash only. Its 2015 I should be able to open up a tab with my card but it seemed to be typical of most bars in Newport.

Worst place ever for black people especially men they single you out if they have 10 white guys and 1 black guy with hat on they will go to the black guy and tell him to take his hat off but not the white guys it’s awful

We went here for my sister’s bachelorette party this summer, and it was so much fun! We rented a VIP booth, which was totally worth the money. All of the staff made us feel totally taken care of(the bouncer, the woman who hosted us, the bartenders). The music was awesome, the crowd was fun, and we just generally had an amazing time! Would definitely recommend Studio 3 to anyone looking to have a fun night out.

My sister’s bachelorette party was this past weekend and we had the best time at Studio 3. Everthing was super organized and professional from Liz who helped coordinate the VIP reservation, to the handsome guy at the door that walked us to our booth to the kicka$$ bouncer we had at our VIP area. We were treated with A plus service and the night was perfect beyond words. Thank you so much for making a very memorable night so perfect, you guys and gals rock!

My girl friends and I spent a weekend in Newport for a bachelorette party… Studio 3 was an awesome place with great music and a place to let loose and dance. The staff was extremely accommodating for our large group of girls and ensured we had a wonderful night! Chris Kilroy thank you for a fun night!!! We will be back!

Dirty, sticky floor, smelly, bad music, manager was rude and dishonest. They overcharged me on the cover because I was part of a bridal party(I had been to this club before and paid less last time). I tried to ask the manager about it and he was downright rude. I will absolutely never go back here again. What a nightmare.

Wishing I could give this 0 stars instead of 1. The promo girl told us there was no cover for girls and 5 dollars for guys… Then we get to the door and there’s a cover for EVERYONE. It takes us 20 minutes to straighten this scam out. Then we finally head up to the bar, oh fun fact it’s CASHONLY and the bartender argues with us extensively and without any sort of apology about it. And then the shots were watered down. By the way this review is by someone who bartended for several years just for reference. And waited tables. And was in the service industry for years.

Would have loved to try this place out for a bachelorette I was hosting, and willing to rent VIP space but they are not open on Friday nights during the«off» season. Not sure when the«off season» starts but I have to say not being open in mid October on a Friday night is pretty lame.

This place is so. much. fun. Seriously danced the night away while at a bachelorette party. The music was amazing and the DJ would play about anything you wanted! It is a cash only bar so be prepared for that. So much fun and a great place to go if you are with a big group of friends.

I was expecting to pay some sort of cover here, fortunately there wasn’t one :) Sooo much fun here. The music is great, drinks are decent, and everyone is good looking and dancing their butts off. There is a balcony area for the females if you feel like shakin’ what your mama gave you minus the boys trying to dance with you. Highly recommended if you want to party it up in Newport.

Place is definitely happening, big dance floor. This place always gets the youngest and hottest crowd in the area. Not open everyday.

Eh… hahahaha… this place is so fun. I don’t fit in at all. But I really love to dance when Dj Nook is on the decks(whoooo doesn’t?!? I was there before he got all Rhody famous, yeahhhh schelpping record crates and breaking up fights in Beantown) but… this isn’t about ME now, is it? You’ll expect bouncers at the door who won’t let your male friends in unless they’ve got popped collars and hair gel(no joke!) a $ 10 cover on Saturday nights after 10 or something like that, and NYC priced cocktails(relatively). It’s cool because there’s a view of the Newport bridge and downtown Thames St, good for people watching on multiple levels. Really a place to go rock out and dance, and it gets crowded. There’s the area for the hot chicas to writhe sexily all gesticulating their anorexic asses up above the dance floor — I like to compete with them by shaking my cellulite in their faces! Kidding. Kidding? Kinda… Anyways it’s not a small dark chill danky bar, its a shiny large dance-y club place where you pop your collars and order $ 9 vodka sodas and wait in line for a toilet! Actually, that last part is a lie. I’m not really sure how much the drinks cost(us cellulite shaking bitches don’t have to pay for our own libations — that’s right, line em up! Men) and the bathrooms don’t usually have a wait, which is kinda amazing considering the amount of people who roll through here on the weekends. This is a weekend review, only. OBVY! I don’t know what it’s like on nights sans Nook. Definitely Classy/Trendy/Upscale/Touristy.

Studio 3 is a little known club above 1 Pelham East on the main strip in Newport, RI. It’s a place that is hard to find in RI; an upscale club with good music. Hip hop music, a decent sized dance floor, and a separate chamber with couches and tables to spin down on highlight this club; Two separate bars keep you from having too long to wait for a drink. Doesn’t currently get so packed that you can’t move. Also, the night I was here, the meathead frat boy quotient seemed reasonable for a place like this.(No fights breaking out, generally polite crowd) Check this place out to shake your ass on a Saturday night.(In the summer they also open it on Fridays)

This place is one of the few places where you can go shake your ass and not be packed in like sardines. Its 3 flights up, but its worth it. It has a great layout, and VIEW of the whole harbor of Newport. Also, Thursday nights are now a gay night which is super fun and great cause I dont think there is anywhere else in Newport that does that! The staff is always awesome, the music is great, and its a great way to get your exercise!!!
