Had lunch prior to taking the tour of the brewery. Place is pretty cool, waitress very helpful with her recommendations of food and beer. Got the 7 sampler option. Beer pretty good, they need a non-hoppy beer though. Food. Ordered two baskets of wings, hot and BBQ.(There was four of us), the scotch eggs a hamburger, a Ruben and the«Blue balls» meatballs. Wings were good(both flavors) as was the hamburger(or so I was told). The wife liked the Ruben. The scotch eggs were not very flavorful unless it doused in mustard. The«blue balls» meatballs(meatballs with blue cheese) were absolutely horrible. No seasoning what so ever. So let me break it down… Beer: Not bad Scotch eggs: Waste of $$ «Blue Balls» meatballs: AVOID! Wings: Good Burger: Good(you get a free frisbee with it too, served on it) Restaurant: Not bad. Restroom is all the way out of the restaurant, down stairs by the front door. Not convenient in a beer drinking place! NOWFORTHETOUR. Tour guide was a witch. Older lady, brown hair. Bad attitude ruined our tour. Started off in a room with a beer. She scolded a group of three for sitting at a table a bit farther away from the group(one was in a wheelchair). She said, «you need to sit with the group over there. I don’t want to have to come back and clean all the tables whe I am done with the tour». Really? I should have known by that, but nope… During the tour, I leaned over to sniff some mash mixture that was draining into a barrel and she yelled at me like I was a child in front of the rest of the group. I am 46 and don’t do stupid shit. I wouldn’t have gotten«splashed» by the mixture draining out. My face was no where near the inside of the barrel. I tolerated her for the remainder of the tour because we had already paid for it. She walked us over to their barrel room, about a couple blocks away. The group with the wheelchair could not go to a few of the areas, not ADA compliant. That should be a HUGE red flag, not my business though. She bragged how her«husband» does this and that, and gave her«opinion» on multiple items I thought were inappropriate. Her husband was actually a cool dude, very friendly and informative. Saved the remainder of the tour. Their spirits area was nice. With the tour they give you a cup and a half of beer, and ¼ of a shot of spirits of your choice. I expected way more from their whiskey, not for me. The hazelnut rum(the wife’s choice) was just straight up NASTY. It was an experience, one that I will not do again. They need to fix a lot before I would recommend it to anyone I know. I hope this helps. 2 stars salvaged for the waitress and the witches husband ONLY. P. S.- Check out Pelican Brewery. That place didn’t offer a tour but is WAY nicer. Food was on a whole other level as well.

Oh Rogue, what a great time! We had a party of three but didn’t make it in time for a tour. Turns out, the walk to the gift shop/pub is a tour in itself! The bartender Jay was absolutely the best part! He was so much fun and really on top of his stuff. He definitely made our Rogue experience a 10/10…THANKSJAY! Love, @summerroadtrip2016

Had lunch here today, what a great choice. We’d had a big breakfast but the 15 year old boy was hungry, typical. EVERY person we spoke to was friendly! It’s a little confusing on your first visit… enter through the big tall red cylinder and follow the signs/arrows. I know it looks like a brewery is happening, that’s kind of the point When you get to the«gift shop», you’re only stairs away from the restaurant. Right after being seated we were given a sample beer taste(well, not the 15 year old). I don’t normally like darker beers but this one was yummy! Grandma had a root beer float, loved it! I had a cup of clam chowder, yummy! The boy had halibut fish and chips and a lesson on what«market price» means A word of caution, the ketchup on the table, according to the 15 year old, was a little spicy and he LOVED it, don’t know if «regular» ketchup was available since we didn’t need it. Service was friendly, spot on and delightful. My only disappointment? My husband wasn’t able to join us.

We popped in here for lunch and were very happy with the experience. The waiter started us off with a free ‘shot’ of one of their popular beers to get us going. We had the kale salad, house salad, poutine appetizer, and a drink(fruit salad cider) and flight between us. The food was all delicious, perfect portions for lunch and lots of flavor. The beer selection was incredible and the flight option definitely seemed like the right way to experience their selection. They were a bit understaffed, and the service level took the hit there, but everything else about the expertise was fantastic.

It’s all about the beer and they short you with small glasses. Where is the pint here? They don’t say how much the beer is on the menu. They are coy on the price and vague on the volume. :(haven’t even gotten the food yet, but I’m already disappointed.

The best brewery tour in Oregon! I’ve been here 4 times now and it never disappoints. The food, service and beer selection is fantastic! The tour: you’ll spend 80 – 90 minutes touring the facilities, tasting beer and spirits(or tasting home made sodas if you don’t drink alcohol), and learning about the brew and distilling process. Every time I’ve been on the tour it’s a bit different, which is great. This is definitely the reason why we travel from Eugene to Newport. Join the revolution!

The wait was 20 minutes even for the bar, so we decided to get some beers to go. I wanted to get a shirt, but the small gift shop area is apparently the waiting for a table area… There were kids running around everywhere, and people standing in front of the shirts. The girl who rung us up seemed bothered and didn’t thank us for our purchases. All in all, an annoying experience and I was disappointed because I had been looking forward to coming here. But the beers were good!

Oh by the way you can substitute the fresh halibut for the beef in their tacos. And I would highly recommend doing so! Their fish is insane!!! And then you add that to the freshness of their taco«fixings» and you have an awesome meal! Yummy!!! Ask for Jay… He is the bartender and he is Darling! Super personable and he obviously loves his job! Jay totally handled the whole room with ease and everyone was happy. It felt like being at Cheers! This is a working brewery but how cool is that when you walk in you pass through their tanks and brewery then you head up to the bar and or seating area and what a cute spot! The patrons love it here too just ask them! Their beer is great(and I am not a beer fan but the beer is good!)And don’t miss the food. Their fish and chips were made from LOCALFRESHHALIBUT! And if I said they melted in your mouth would you believe me? Well you should!!! The BEST fish and chips I have ever had! The fish was so fresh and sweet! They use their own beer batter(which stands to reason) so the batter is super light and the fish was not over cooked on the inside. Hubby had the burger and it was stunning and delicious too! And then we ordered the Mac and cheese, which by far is one of my favorite comfort foods … So when I don’t touch the Mac and cheese it should tell you the fish and chips was OFFTHECHARTS! Just go and enjoy!

Dropped in to check out the brewery and decided to take the tour at 3pm. We had a bit of time to kill prior, so we decided to sample some beers up at the bar. Bartender provided top notch service, including giving us samples with our menus and signing us up for Rogue Nation. Tour blew away our expectations. Don’t let the other reviewers sway your decision because it’s long length. Ours was nearly 2 hours and we had a blast. $ 5 tour got us(2) cups of beer and a shot of spirit at the end. Tour guides were friendly and just real awesome people. Highly recommend. Thanks for the good time, Rogue.

The bathrooms have huge cutouts on the doors of the stalls and it is awkward… It also took forever to be seated and once we got our food, our server never checked on us to ask if we needed anything else. He did stop by to refill our water, but ignored our empty soda glasses and never came back to offer refills. He went to tables that had been sat after us first to offer checks and boxes. Not great service. Weird bathrooms.

On March 24th, 2 girls set out on the trip of a lifetime for a beer. Not just any beer, Dead Guy Ale from Rogue. The trip started in a car and drove 985 miles in 15 hours to Los Angeles, CA. Where we caught the train for 1,100 miles which took 27 hours on a train to Albany, OR. In Albany we caught the bus for a 2 hour ride in to Newport, OR. We arrived in Newport on Sunday the 27th at 6pm. From the bus we walked straight to Rogue Ales Public House, where we met Whitney. Whitney was amazing, she made sure they beers were cold and the food was hot. She was great company to have in a place we had never been before. I could not have asked for a better first time experience at Rogue. On Monday the 28th we took our journey to Rogue Brewing. It has been my dream to come here since I had my first Dead Guy Ale in 2010. Early in the day I had called to check the times of the tours. I was informed there was only a tour at 3pm. After a little sadness due to fact we had to get on the road for our journey down the 101 we decided to sit and have a beer. It was here where we met Jake from State Farm. Again as the night before we could not have asked for a better bartender. Jake made sure the beer was cold and the company was great! As we are finishing our beers at 2pm Tawnee the tour guide came through while finishing the 1pm tour… I was even more sad because I missed the 1pm tour even though I called and was told there was not one. Tawnee came over and spoke with Jake. Jake told Tawnee our story and decided to take us on a tour of the Brewery. DREAMCOMETRUE! We bought some beer and a hoodie and left Rogue with big smiles on our faces. 18 days later I am still smiling. I knew had to give a big shout out to Rogue, Whitney, Jake, and Tawnee for making our trip one of the best trips of MYLIFE!!!

If you’re going to visit Rogue in Newport, go to the brewery itself! Even though it’s usually fairly busy, I’ve always had great service. The beer selection is really fun, and I love getting samplers so I can try as many as possible without getting completely smashed! The poutine was super moist and tasty!

While waiting to join our tour we stopped at the bar for pregame fun and snacks. Cheese curds and beer were pretty delicious. The cheese curds were perfectly breaded so they didn’t weigh you down and simply kept the cheese from oozing all over your plate. As always, the beer was top notch. The tour awaits.

Went here on Christmas night while on a crabbing trip with my buddy in Newport. Not a lot open on Christmas night and frankly, this place shouldn’t have been. There were Two tables besides us for a total of about 7 people in the place so not busy at all. The burger I ordered came to the table RAW! Not underdone… RAW! Of course they replaced it with a new one and comped the meal but what else could they have done? We also ordered the wings as my buddy as we have this thing where we always try wings if the place serves them. Soggy, small and really completely forgettable flavor. Also pretty expensive considering they resembled wings that come frozen in a bag. My friend said he enjoyed the beer he had but I had a Pepsi so can’t comment to the beer. My meal was awful. What else can I say.

Similar to others, the service was just sub-par and this places seems to rest on its laurels. There was a long line waiting to be seated when we arrived and there was also a bunch of empty seats. When we finally got seated, we were told the bar was«too busy» to do beer flights since there would be a lot of glassware to clean, so we were forced to order pints. Then the clam chowder came out completely cold and had to be sent back. To top this all of, I tried to buy a t-shirt for a friend at the end of our visit but no one seemed to be interested in coming to the gift shop and taking my money, so we left(someone else did too). This place is overall good and has lots of potential but they need to hire more staff or change the way they do things or we won’t be back. The food and beer were otherwise good

I had a good time. The view is fantastic. The fish and chips-delicious. We tried a few beers on tap and grabbed some gear on our way out. I liked everything about. The original Rogue would wouldn’t go?

Hands down one of — if not the best brewery experience I’ve had. Make sure you take the $ 5 tour. What a great experience + beer included. My girlfriend and I are currently on a 5 week road trip. We’re now at 20+ breweries and Rogue has been excellent. Go up to the restaurant after your tour and get a window seat overlooking the bay!

Super sad about this stop, we had high hopes as we love the rouge brand but service was extremely slow(even though there was only 2 other families in here eating) cocktails tasted watered down, crab cake sliders were luke warm and had a frozen patty taste to them and were dry, chicken burger was dry and my friends $ 10 coffee cocktail took forever and was made with old cold coffee. We definitely will not be back and wouldn’t recommend it. Update: waited was very nice and comped the coffee cocktail

Established in 1988 and the taproom/restaurant shows it. I don’t think there has been any remodeling or updating since that time. I was hoping for something cool like the new Chicago Lagunitas or New Belgium facilities but here it’s a bit sad. Actually I can say without a doubt it’s the most depressed looking taproom I’ve ever been to. In the tap room is just a dirty little window that you can’t even see out when sitting by the bar. It’s a shame considering the awesome location and potential views. Also the service was sloooooow. I’m not a huge fan of their beers despite their national popularity so we had a taster & left. I hope they consider a 40 year anniversary remodel.

I know you pay for location but wow. At least fix the place up a bit if you charging top dollar. I did like the little mini tour. Nice people with that yuppie Bohemia vibe. This would be at home in North Portland. You can buy in there store as well
