Nice neighborhood bar and restaurant. I’ve only been there once for dinner. The cod was very flavorful and I would highly recommend it. They run great specials on Monday and Tuesdays.

This place prides itself on great service but it is quite the contrary. The servers tend to ignore you and check on you long after you’ve finished your drink. The food is below average compared to the surrounding restaurants, especially for the price you’re paying. They make a decent house sangria, but other than that the draft selections are limited. I do not plan on going back after eating there three times. At least I gave it more than one chance.

Great example of a fine eatery outside of the expensive Newport district. Excellent choices of wine to satisfy my pallet. Appetizer of calamari was tasty and spiced with peppers, yum. Main course included the steak wonderful offering sized just right for me. I’ll be back again soon

Just enjoyed this great place at the suggestion of a few customers. I was greeted very friendly upon arrival by Ryan the bartender. The menu looked fantastic unfortunately I’m on a diet but there salad menu looked awesome as well. I choose the pulled chicken squash, spinach, and butternut squash salad. Truly one of the best combinations I have ever enjoyed. From Los Angeles to NYC this creative bar rivals anything I have come upon. Great job guys keep up the good work and wonderful food u deserve nothing less than 5 stars.

Went specifically for the surf & turf tacos, which they have changed since I was last there. Very disappointed they changed them, don’t think I will return.

Stopped in for a light lunch on Easter. Great find! My wife, daughter, and I shared the duck flat bread, short rib tacos, and calamari from the small plates. My wife and I had a pear salad and panzanella. Everything was flavorful. The flat bread had a roasted garlic spread that made it really interesting. The calamari had a light, crispy batter and came with a light citrus dipping sauce. Alternatively there was a more standard red sauce on the plate that tasted like crushed, fresh tomatoes. I enjoyed them with a touch of each. Lots of flavor going through the tacos. The pear salad had a lightly seared romaine lettuce with blue cheese and walnuts. Great texture and complementary flavors. My wife loved the panzanella. To wash it down I had the grapefruit shandy from Harpoon. The slightly sour shandy went with most of the food. Casual ambiance, friendly but not annoying staff, and music like Rusted Roots in the background made it a must come back experience. If they add more spice, a la North, into the menu flavor profile, I’ll be happy to go 5 stars.

As most of the other reviews here say, the pulled pork mac & cheese is amazing! Also the $ 10 Mondays are a great deal. The short ribs with pasta are really really good. Have also been for brunch. Everybody was happy with their meal. My only complaint is I expected there to be chunks of linguica in the breakfast bowl, but they were like bacon bit sized. Couldn’t taste it at all. I definitely want to go back and try the chicken and waffles and baked French pretzel for brunch. And bonus, they take Newport Dine out!

Yesssssssssss it was so good. My only complaint is that I wish their menu had more to it. But what they do have they do really well! We love love love this place. The beer choices are unique and different, and their specialty drinks are out of this world! They do not skimp on the liquor. Dinner was awesome and I imagine anything you order would be out of this world. My duck confit literally melted off the bone. And the mashed potatoes where some of the best I have ever had. But the deep fried cheese cake is what did it for me. A cross between a cheesecake and a churro it was worth all the calories!

I really loved the food and certainly got my money’s worth. My boyfriend on the other hand got a salad that was the same price as my meal but less then half of the portion size. Overall my meal was big enough for us both to eat so it worked out well.

This was some tasty food! Came here for dinner and was not disappointed. My friend had baked cod and spinach and I had a salad entrée with pulled chicken, cranberries and sweet potato. The menu is limited but it all looked good. Choose from tiny half circle booths to sit in, a few normal tables or long, high bar tables. My only beef was that it was very noisy — the music was loud, there doesn’t seem to be much sound proofing so and it is also a bar so people get loud. I was sitting practically side by side with my friend and still had to yell.

We chose Caleb & Broad from the Restaurant week advertisement. For off season on a Monday night the place was pleasantly busy. Instead of taking advantage of the Restaurant Week special, we loved the fact that we stumbled on to the $ 10 Entrees Monday night special!(Tuesday is ½ price bottles of wine). For appetizers we had Asian shrimp kabob which had a perfectly paired fruit compote, but the winner was the Pulled Pork Mac-n-cheese! Topped with hand made French Fried Onion strips it was completely fabulous!!! For our main meals I got the chipotle ribs which were very good but again the hubby got the winner of the two entrees when he went out of his normal comfort zone and got the Duck confit, completely delicious! Very glad we made this part of our restaurant week vacation in Newport!

I recently moved into the area and decided to try Caleb and Broad during their $ 10 Entrees Monday. I ended up only getting an appetizer — the mac & cheese with pork. It was really good. My friend and I sat at the bar and had a couple of glasses of wine. The crowd is mixed — older crowd having dinner but also young families or younger crowd having drinks/food. Im looking forward to trying the entrees.

Oh Caleb & Broad… Definitely a great find, once this place gains more popularity(which it will). Hopefully, I will still be able to easily find a table! Was in town with a couple of girlfriends for a quick weekend getaway, met up with a couple friends who lived in the area for dinner before drinks but had not planned on where. We could not get a reservation anywhere that was shorter than an hour or an hour and a half,(Red Parrot was REDIC and Diego’s was not even an option), it was rediculous and aggrivating. One of our local friends suggested we go to Caleb & Broad which was fairly new and I was just so annoyed we couldn’t find anywhere to get dinner that I was willing to try it. I am now more than glad that we stopped into this restuarant for dinner because it is just fabulous! Young, trendy crowd vibes. You walk in and right away it is so chill and relaxing. The waitress was curtious and very welcoming.(cool white ear gauges). We asked for water with extra lemons and she brought us a whole bowl! My favorite part of the restuarant is the art, turn my head to the left there is a display of Lucha Libre mask, turn my head to the right beautiful bight colored art lining the walls. Limited menu but very creative options. Looked like they only had a 2 chef line so the focus was more on the taste and quality which I love. Fried green beans for an app, YUM! And I ordered the half chicken for my main entrée, crispy skin and moist meat. The mashed potatoes were to die for, I’m not kidding. And the green beans were cooked to perfection. Simplicity in the way that the chef prepares the meal was just wondrous. Very impressed C&B you guys have my heart and I will be returning every time I’m back in town! Did not have a drink but they do have a full bar and smiling bartenders!

Had a very good meal here tonight. Because of the reviews we tried the pretzels and cheese and they were great! We also tried the tacos, one fish and one steak. The fish was way better than the steak. For the entrée I had the Duck Confit with garlic mashed and spinach and a poached egg. My BF had the short ribs and papardelle pasta. The meat could have had more flavor but other than that it was good. For dessert we had the warm chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream and candied bacon. Very yum! This is off the beaten path which was another reason we loved it!!!

Extremely fun and relaxing place to go in Newport. Outside seating when the weather is nice, u shape bar and then a more intimate dinning section with corner booths that’ll make you feel like you’ve got the whole place to your own. I really like the steak with a side of mash and Brussels. Surf and turf tacos are great after work snack with a drink. Also the cod is delicious. Wait staff is top notch and the owner is regularly seen in the mix, seating tables or working the bar.

Cool new spot in a more chill, locals-centric part of Newport. Down by the water gets a little nuts, so coming up to Broadway is a bit more relaxing, but by no means boring. We sat at the bar around 630pm on a Friday and the place got more and more busy over the two hours we were there. They have a small draft list, but some good selections. I also had a zombie from their cocktail list which was tastalicious. We only had the pretzels from their bar snack menu but they were seriously delicious fresh buttery pretzels. I would go back here just for those! I’m pretty sure the owner was behind the bar. It’s cool to see owner’s that actually get their hands dirty. Best of luck!

I came here during the winter and had a fantastic experience watching a Bruins game with my girlfriend. We had a late lunch that day so we were planning on just getting drinks and a couple of appetizers to share. Since it was close to zero degrees outside, I ordered the Zombie to make me think of a warmer climate with the rum and pineapple juice perfectly blended together. My girlfriend ordered the princess c and was so pleased with it that she ordered a second one before the end of the first period. For appetizers, we ordered the fried calamari and the pretzel sticks. The fried calamari was on par with most calamari with a nice crispy exterior. But the pretzel sticks were phenomenal and made me want to come back the next time I am in Newport.
