Men’s Wearhouse and Tux

After working with the employees and manager at this establishment I highly do not recommend anyone doing business with them. All of the tuxes for our men in my wedding were prepaid in full. We had a hiccup and had to change a name on one of them before they were even fitted for them and they were so unorganized they tried to make us pay for another tux. Then my father who was one of the first men to be fitted did not get his tux until the very last day which made my mother in law have to stay an additional day in Newport News to wait for it. We were told day after day from Monday until Thursday when it finally came in. On top of that one of my grooms men’s tuxes came in with stains all over it. After talking to the manager several times she was rude and unprofessional. Then they turned around and charged us more money. I will never do business with them again.

Great customer service. I came in on a Friday afternoon needing a suit for a Tuesday appointment. Their staff helped me find the suit with matching shirt and tie. Additionally, they were able tailor the suit in about 30 minutes.

I walked in and this lady came running up to me to help in a very short few moments she found out I needed a suit for my daughters wedding and she jerk a coat off one rack and pants off another and was rushing me over to the tailor the suit didn’t match so I stopped everything and ask her the price it was just under 800.00 and when I said I was not interested in a suit that expensive that did not match wasn’t even from the same manufacture. the same lady that was so interested in my daughter and her wedding just turn around and walked away from me would not talk to me. she is so fake it makes me sick I would not go there unless you had a thousand dollars in your pocket and you don’t give a dam how you are going to look.

I don’t understand the negative reviews I here either, me and a friend went last night for some suits and the salesperson that helped us was great helped us find exactly what we needed and showed us options for about an hour.

This place use to be cheap, now everything is sky high! I’m 6’5 so shopping for a person my size is difficult, however Steven, my consultant made every effort to find what I needed. He measured me for some pants, and found the size I need to be looking for. If they don’t have it in stock, the will order it from their main warehouse. I like this place, kinda shocking to see the negative reviews.
Be sure and ask for Steven Chavis or Alexis Jarae when you go. These two have their customer service skill on ultra high. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, they will find it for you.

I read the review below, and I have no idea where this guy went but it wasn’t The Mens Wearhouse I go to in Newport News. As a whole, the staff is helpful and selection is good. In fact, since I wear some larger sizes, they go out of their way to help. Don’t believe this guy, believe a local who actually buys all his dress clothes here!

I had the audacity to disrupt one of their salespeople and ask to exchange a pair of shoes. After being told that they did not have my size, I further inconvenienced the salesman by asking to order my size. He reluctantly took my information and told me it would be one week. When I had the gall to call back two weeks later (since I had not heard from them), they admitted that had never ordered them. Then they were misordered and it took much longer.

You know that a place is poor and the service is horrible when you need to get the item and you still walk out empty handed. I went to this store in Newport News because I needed a suit for a funeral yet even with money in hand I still didn’t get one here.
Almost as soon as we entered the store and approached the salesman I could tell it wasn’t going to be pleasant experience. He was busy chatting up his female coworker and even though I told him I was planning on buying a funeral suit, he didn’t seem the least interested in making the sale.
I gave him my criteria and in a store with thousands of suits he claimed there was only one suit that would fit me and even then after I had resigned myself to it, he said they didn’t have my size after having already had me try on the jacket.
When I then suggested that I just buy a sports coat from the store to were with some gray dress slacks he claim they would look horrible unless they were bought together. If I hadn’t been clear that he has no interest in making a sale, that did the trick and we left without a suit.
We did however go to another Men’s Wearhouse that was less than 2 miles away and bought a suit there.
