Colonial Courts Motel

No. Just… uh… no. Stay away from this place.
So, check this…
My boyfriend and I are cruising around Newport News and we decided it would be awesome if we could find some place with a hot tub to relax in for the night. We turned the wrong way on Jefferson and ended up near this place. We saw the sign that indicated that they had a hot tub and decided to check it out. Now, I would like to add that this place is in a questionable part of Newport News so we didn’t really expect much. We just wanted a hot tub for relaxing our achy muscles. Anyway… I digress.
My boyfriend went it to get the room and when he returned he was laughing about the experience he had with the hotel clerk. Apparently, the dialog was something out of a movie (he didn’t indicate genre, but possible a horror film) The guy stressed that they didn’t allow refunds at all. That should have been a red flag. So, off we go to enjoy our hot tub time.
We get into the room and it smells. Yuck. It’s old and run down and just… yuck. So, we check out the hot tub. It’s roomy and cleanish. We start to fill it up and investigate the room further. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. The pillow cases were dirty. It looked like there was dried blood on them and they HADN’T been washed. The floor was gross. The bathroom was falling apart. The final straw was when we pulled back the sheets and found dead BUGS in the bed. Not bed bugs, they were larger, but bugs nonetheless. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. We left, and returned our key (a real key, not a card) and the clerk just reminded us that there were no refunds. Thanks, buddy!
This place should probably be condemned.
