It took over 30 minutes and several visits back to the kitchen asking for our food to get two tuna Greek salads. Don’t go here if you have other plans. It delayed our day and we ended up having to take our order to go. They did apologize but I’ve never had to wait so long for a tuna Greek salad.

Mustard Café brings a unique Deli experience to the denizen’s of Newport Coast.
I have been a Mustard Café faithful for some time now. Ever since the first time I tried their excellent Roast Beef and Bleu on Baguette sandwich almost a decade ago, I have sung their praises to anyone willing to listen. I have heard many scoff that their prices are too high, but at $ 8.00 per sandwich on average feels quite rational in south county and considering they use Boar’s Head Provisions almost exclusively this is almost a bargain.
Outside of the Roast Beef and Bleu you can look to the OC Pastrami, Bella Brie and the Club sandwiches for a delicious lunch. They also offer Breakfast and Coffee during the mornings — check out the Bacon, Egg and Cheddar for a day starting sandwich with substance but if you like a nice light Breakfast, look no further than the Feta, Tomato & Cucumber.

Came in for lunch since they didn’t look too crowded. It took 15 minutes for a Caesar salad. AND it came out after everyone else’s food had come out that had ordered after me.

Good place for brunch/​lunch.
Came here for brunch/​lunch after a pretty strenuous trail run and was hot and hungry. My friend wanted breakfast and I wanted lunch, so this place satisfied both of us. She ordered an omelette and I ordered a sandwich which comes with a choice of slaw, pickle or chips. The sandwiches are also build your own, so you get a choice of bread, cheese, meat and what veggies you want. I opted for the peppered turkey which was pretty tasty. The slaw was ok, a bit watery than what I like.
With the Unilocal check-​in you also get a free cookie, which is awesome! I got the peanut butter cup cookie and it was so tasty, huge in size and just the right amount of softness. The staff are nice and friendly. Bathrooms are clean.

Mustard Café has come a long way since they opened in NC. Their food has gotten much better and I recommend the Paninis. Staff is friendly and service is efficient.

Friendly and attentive staff, good food, fair pricing for the area it’s in, and delicious chai tea lattes! We came here for breakfast, so I cannot speak for the lunch items on the menu, but judging on the quality of breakfast, I would certainly come here for lunch as well.

Services were great as is the food. I seldom get a soda but when I do it is even better when the restaurant has the new dispenser which allows you to design your own soda. Today I felt like some Sprite but by the time I was done it was an Orange /​Vanilla Sprite.
I prefer restaurants like Mustard who slice and prepare everything fresh as opposed to picking out pre-​sliced stuff from behind the counter.
I can’t wait to eat this sandwich, the SoCal Italian.

This place has great varieties of food. Specially for a person who is gluten free and dairy free.
We came with our whole family and they were really patient and helpful with us.

Came down with my entire family to visit the area– were looking for high quality brunch and a relaxed outdoor area to spend a few hours. Was craving an East coast sandwich and their tuna melt blew me away! Also excellent selection of craft beers and wine. Whether if you are looking for a high quality breakfast or a snug day-​drinking spot, you can’t go wrong.

I was in the area working and needed a quick dinner. I walked in and checked out the menu at each of the eateries in this shopping center. Upon entering Mustard café I was greeted by a very sweet girl «Ariana» I think. She pointed out some top choices on the menu and recommended I try the chicken pesto panini w/​tomatoe bisque to dip it in. The sandwich was great and quick. It was because of her excellent service that I decided to sit down and I was not disappointed!

Great breakfasts here! The other two ordered the two by two with French toast, bacon, hash browns and eggs. I ordered an omelette with cheese and mushrooms. Orange juice was fresh squeezed. Yum! I received a free cookie for checking in on Unilocal!I got peanut butter with huge chocolate chips. It was delicious! Indoor or outdoor seating. Lunch sandwiches too.

Great spot in Newport Coast. Love it here! This is step up from my traditional favorite, Corner Bakery. The food is awesome! Last couple of visits, I’ve ordered the half panini sandwich with a half mixed berry salad.

This is a great local spot for brunch! The prices are reasonable and the food is good. It’s small but doesn’t need to be big. The omelets are great. I’ve had the burgers too and they’re good. Their sandwiches are great.

This was my first time at Mustard Café and I was happily impressed. I ordered the ABC Omelette with sour dough bread. It was really good. The service was outstanding too.

I got the 222 breakfast and it was surprisingly good! I don’t know why I underestimated this place but you can tell everything was specifically chosen and was so unique.
The French toast was really good it wasn’t dry and was perfectly toasted.

We picked up sandwiches here recently when traveling to Newport Beach and Anaheim. My daughter and I had the veggie sandwich and it was very filling and great quality. Not sure what my son-​in-​law or granddaughter had… but they polished them off, so they had to be good :-)

I came here to get a breakfast burrito after hiking the Crystal Cove trails. The breakfast burrito was good, but I didn’t like how little hot sauce and salsa it came with. They only give you enough for maybe half the burrito. And I was trying my best to conserve it!
I asked for some more hot sauce and salsa for myself and another person and I think they ended up charging me like $ 3 something for it. Their salsa is actually not bad and has cubes of fresh avocados in it. But IMO, they should’ve just given it for free.

Fresh, healthy, and incredibly tasty!
Everything I’ve had here is so good.
Some of my favorites include the berry salad, tuna melt, croissant breakfast sandwich, and banana & Nutella croissant to name a few.
The also have alkaline water for those who only drink that.
Very clean inside and very friendly service.
Most importantly, everything is fresh.

Great experience! Came here with a friend early Sunday morning to grab breakfast. We shared some special they offered (222 plate = 2 pieces of bacon OR sausage, 2 pieces of french toast OR pancakes, 2 eggs however way you want them, and hash browns).
Food isn’t particularly creative (granted I only tried one thing, but I did have a chance to peruse the rest of the menu), but it’s still quite good and hit the spot. I didn’t have anything to complain about. The prices are fair, and the service is super friendly and absolutely fantastic. Made my morning a bit brighter :)
