Awesome high quality Tucson Décor intimate Restuarant. All food is prepared to order with the finest if ingredients. We had the Salade Aux Lardons(spinach with sundried tomatoes, cranberries, and crumbled goat cheese. Main course was a delicious lasagna with neat and quality cheeses. Amazing service and extremely reasonable pricing in Newport Beach.

I took my husband here for his birthday after reading all the great reviews. I was a little nervous that the restaurant across the street was packed, and we were one of three tables when we arrived, and nobody else came in during the time we dined. The restaurant is small, but quaint. My husband had a few glasses of Chianti, which he liked, and I ordered the small sparking water. The waiter informed me that they were out of small waters, but had I could order a large. Fine, no big deal but a bummer because my husband doesn’t like sparking water and I can’t finish a huge bottle. I went to the bathroom, and it was so dirty and the light didn’t work. I had to pee in the dark. We ordered bruschetta, which was pretty tasteless. The French onion soup however, was amazing. It was flavorful and perfectly hot. We split a pasta with scallops, shrimp, mussels, and clams. This was pretty good and had a slight kick. Our server was attentive, but for half the meal, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Would I come back? Probably not. It looks like there are other restaurants in the area that are more popular.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner, just by chance, while visiting Balboa Island. This restaurant is amazing! The food is cooked with fresh ingredients and the pasta is absolutely phenomenal. The portion sizes are just right, not too much like most restaurants serve nowadays. Food is extremely flavorful without being heavy. Trattoria was an incredible find!

Mushy Pasta Bolognese complete with grey, hard meatballs, and strange tasting sauce. Same mushy pasta served as Linguini Vongole with soft, tasteless(canned?) clams. We had a few bites and asked for the bill. When the waiter(owner?) was taking our full plates away we offered the explanation that the food was really terrible. Instead of asking for our feedback, he started ranting at my husband, and the other customers in the restaurant that WE don’t know good food. He did not take a dime off the bill. Like flushing $ 94 down the toilet. Don’t go.

This place is always good. I come here a couple of times a year and the food and service are always exceptional. The eggplant sandwich is my favorite lunch item. Looking forward to trying the lamb chops next. I have never been disappointed here. Absolutely worth a try, best on the island.

This is a little hole in the wall packed away on Balboa Island. The décor is pretty standard and the whole place feels more rustic than other places on the island. The wait staff was nice and friendly. But the food is what was amazing. The menu seemed like it cuisine concentrated on not only Italy but had arabic influence as well. I had the chicken kabob. The meat was marinated to perfection with a slight hint of citrus percolating through the yogurty marinade. On biting it, I found it was extremely tender and juicy. My wife had the pasta with chicken. Again this was made to perfection with creamy sauce. This seems like a great place for warm summer days on the island when you want to just eat and spend time with that special someone. All in all Trattoria Mediterranean Cuisine is a must stop for any one who is in the mood for Mediterranean tastes.

The service equally complimented the food. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! The owners were so very nice and made our dining experience very personable and special. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. An amazing find and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you!!!

The food was amazing, it had Italian food but was a Mediterranean place. The service was very slow and no one was really there, the water was tap, but overall I would recommend this place and definitely go again!

I love this place. The salltimboca is to die for and my wife loves the chicken curry pasta. Be sure to try the cannolis. The atmosphere is cozy and warm and we have never had a problem with reservations.

This restaurant received such mixed reviews I was hesitant to try it… And I think it deserved the mix! To start the water was horrible!!! I switched to tea which was fine. The bread was okay, same with the salad and soup. The chicken Marsala however was quite good and earned this restaurant its second star. The third is for its lovely, cozy and dog friendly front patio which I loved. I probably wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend it to someone I knew but it really wasn’t bad either.

Two stars because I respect people willing to have a business. Truly, they have no idea whatsoever of the business of feeding people. Food came late, appetizer came together with main dishes. They charge you for a garlic bread with no garlic, only butter or a yellowish thing on it. The bread is cold, the salmon pasta have very few salmon pieces and barely taste like salmon. There is only one person to serve all the tables, take the orders, bring the bills and collect the money. They have to improve a lot if they want to stay open, I hope I get do.

My mob and I picked this restaurant totally at random. It turned out to be one of the finest dining experiences of my life. Upon seating, we were immediately overwhelmed with an onslaught of warm greetings and hasty service. I have never tasted food with such colorful flavor. Ellie was such a sweet lady and made our experience that much more wonderful. The ingredients were fresh and the textures exquisite. If you are looking for a place to eat and you happen to enjoy good food and good service then I definitely demand that you come and enjoy the majesty that is Trattoria.

Great ambiance/décor, but overall, just… blah. Terrible food: super thin, tasteless, weirdly textured calamari with a oily(?) batter. Risotto was bland. Seafood in the seafood dish was a tasting sized. They ran out of a pasta for a restaurant favorite. Service was poor; water wasn’t refilled at all. Maybe, maybe come for a drink … then go eat elsewhere.

Let me preface this review by saying that I am not a particularly picky diner. After touring the Balboa area, both the beach and island side, a nice lady and I stopped into Trattoria hoping for some light and refreshing quisine. We asked the host if we were permitted to dine in their outdoor seating area, to which he obliged. Here is where things get a bit rocky. It took approximately 10 minutes for us to receive water and menus to peruse. This, as it turned out, was only the beginning of the terribly slow service. I’d cut them a bit of slack, however it was a Monday afternoon and there was only one other table of patrons. We proceeded to order the Bruschetta appetizer and a sandwich a piece, all of which were lackluster at best. The kitchen was unable to place our sides on the correct plates, and my lady friend’s request of salad dressing on the side was also mucked. The slow service continued for the rest of the stay and what should have been a 30 – 40 minute lunch turned into the worst hour and fifteen minute dining experience I can recall in quite some time. Ultimately, I’d recommend you look almost anywhere else, including the corndog stand on the opposite side of the canal.

Love this little joint on Marine Blvd. Food is good for reasonable price and atmosphere is neighborhood charming. Ellie, our waitress on two occasions, is a lovely lady that adds to the pleasant ambiance. We will return often as we are buying a home in the area. Bonus points for happily accommodating our Golden Retriever«Huck» on the covered patio!

Excellent quality, highly recommended. Their staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Small, quiet, relaxing spot that serves great food. I’d recommend the lasagna forno. It’s small, but delicious!

Best find ever. The ambience was perfect and it was the best food I have eaten. Then had the best cannoli. The music was at the perfect volume and the waiter was very attentive.

Great ambiance, it is small with a Med tradition décor. The service is great and plus you are in Balboa Island, it’s cool. The food is typical Italian Med. The pastas are cooked aldeante, the cream sauces are garlicky, and the greens in the salads are crisp and fresh. The only real downside here and you need to be careful is the Cesar Salad. It has a lot of raw garlic that it is so overpowering and«raw garlic spicy» you can hardly get by 1⁄3 of the plate. Plus the $ 4 extra of shrimp that is offered is the tiny tiny shrimp, not any medium or large shrimp. I might be back but not after I sample another Italain place on this island.
