The other night my debit card was accidentally given to another customer. They were really apologetic and offered to refund my tab. I left feeling ok about it. Long story short, they never refunded me. I called 4 different times and each time all they could say was«the manager isn’t in right now» so apparently no one else could help me. I left my name and number, but never received a call back. This place sucks. If I go back I’ll probably be really drunk and I’m gonna piss all over the walls in the bathroom

Great location during the weekend. Walking distance to other bars and the beach. Pool table, open space, photo booth, good music and stiff drinks. I’m a fan.

Great spot to chill with your friends, fun laid back atmosphere with the greatest bar tenders. Shawn is the greatest bar tender I’ve ever had!!! =)

I stop in after my long runs on weekend in the morning and the the two new bartenders Marris(hope spelled correctly) and Sarah are great. They both are able to connect with the wknd morning groupies that flow there. btw. they both work seperate days and do an ecellent job. JJ

The place is usually pretty entertaining. I do enjoy the music selection they play here, usually accompanied by the music video. It’s like a mix of top 40s and old school hip hop. Pretty good amount of seating. Crowd is as mixed as Newport gets. Easy door policy.

My friend and I ordered a few drinks. Their glasses were filthy. Like black mold on the outside AND inside. 2 of our 4 drinks had black floaters. The server even said«oh that’s Bc they don’t dry them before stacking them» not my problem! Would not recommend this place!

These security guards wouldn’t let anyone in after 1:30 when they close at 2am. This place sucks.

I’d try to avoid at all costs when it is crowded. They let so many people in that physical contact with strangers becomes unavoidable. When you mix that with alcohol and stupid people, fights break out constantly. It seems like it has to be against the building code to let so many people in. However, at times when it isn’t too crowded the place can be really fun and enjoyable.

My girlfriend and I came here on a Sunday. It was pretty mellow, so we loved it. We ordered drinks and a shot. Our bartenders Dylan and Shawn offered to make us a special shot. Everything was great and the service was epic. We’ll be back soon just to see them and looking forward it.

I was here last night for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. I got in right away no line, I didn’t have a hard time getting a drink even though the bar was a bit crowded people were cool to step aside and let you in. From what I saw this was a cool spot, people were dancing having a great time I didn’t see anything that annoyed me. There were tons of beautiful women and they were down to earth. Only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because the restroom line was somewhat long, but other than that this place is really cool. Music: Top 40

Just stopped in here for drinks. My old roommate and I used to come in here a lot to avoid the crowd at Sharkeys during the nighttime partying scene. Now, it is definitely a easy place to hang out where you can hear some music, play pool and sit around and talk with friends while having slightly expensive cocktails.

By the time we made it into The District, I was having a great time. However, even without beer goggles, this place is a solid traditional bar experience. We played the world’s sloppiest game of pool, and made excellent use of the photobooth. Drinks: solid moscow Mules here, with a nice balance of flavors. I’m always a sucker for the cool cup anyways. We also got tequila shots, which were pretty fairly priced. The bathrooms are actually pretty clean as well.

These degenerate idiots at the door denied me and my 3 friends from New York for alleged fake IDs(we are all 24). Nice job, you lost about $ 250 because you suck at reading IDs and that’s why you have an empty bar.

Good service, fun crowd, small bathrooms, and extremely sticky floors. My tip, move around a lot or you may be stuck to the floor for eternity. You’re welcome.

Interesting random… very very random bar. The place is pretty empty even on a 3 day weekend Saturday night. That can be a good thing if you are there to just drink. I ordered a blue moon which unfortunately didn’t taste so great and a stella for my friend(beers were about $ 5 each and served in a glass). We ended up just pounding those drinks. The crowd is an older crowd for sure and not very outgoing or fun and your occasional drunken girls with the short skirts that look like they accidentally stumbled into this bar. There is some pool tables towards the back which are not even being used and there is a bunch of randoms sitting by the wall on the booth drinking sadly and alone. We managed to get a section of the booth with a small round table near the entrance/exit. The booth is in horrible shape. The booth is cracked and literally taped up to keep it together. Being that it was my first visit here, the place didn’t make an impact on me to make me want to come back again. But I guess it’s what you make of it. If you were to roll in with all your friends, this place would be pretty awesome since you would be the only crowd. Bartender didn’t really say much to me even though we hung out at the bar for a bit but needless to say he was nice and didn’t take long to give me my drinks. #35/2014

How do I always end up at The District? Well, here are a few reasons, I guess. «Dude, there’s pizza and tacos right around the corner!» «The line isn’t that bad compared to Woody’s.» «Dude/Chick and his/her friends are there!» As you can tell, none of these are great reasons to visit. The District is a mediocre bar even by Newport standards. The crowd seems douchier than at other nearby places such as Malarky’s or Commonwealth. This can probably be attributed to its close proximity to Sharkeez. The District also refers to itself as «lounge». A few tables, a handful of dancing patrons, and one photo booth count as a «lounge»? The drinks are also hit or miss. I came here last weekend and ordered a White Russian. I received something resembling a Whiskey Sour. As Bill O’ Reilly would say — «You can’t even explain that.» Finally, this place gets crowded as hell. On a positive note, the bouncer is really nice. Pro-Tip: The District Lounge in Orange is MUCH better. I’ll probably get suckered into returning by my «friends».

I came here recently on a Sat. night, I was surprised by the crowd at this bar, considering that is in newport beach. I was expecting it to be more douchey, but apparently you would go across the street for that. There was a good mix of people here, and all dressed very differently from club attire to casual. It’s nice that they have couches and chairs for people to sit on. They also have a pool table in the back, but it was pushed to the side to make room for a dance floor(I’m guessing during the weekdays it is taken out) . This place was also a lot larger compared to how it looks from the outside. There are lots of bars in this area, so you can always start here and work your way around. Drinks are $ 5 or $ 6 each, not that strong. There is nothing that special about this place, but it’d be a chill place to go after work.
