Salon Milano

I came in to get a pedi and a nail polish change. I really liked Kelly who performed the service for me. She did a great job and I would be happy to return to her.
What brought the stars down for me is when I was led into the Salon to get my work down, I was sat down in a regular chain in the middle of the Salon floor and I had my feet put in a pedi bucket with hot water. Now I don’t know about you dear reader, but one of the perks of getting a pedi is sitting in the spa chair, getting a little massage action and relaxing. Being stuck in the middle of the floor while customers bumped me walking by and surrounded by people getting their hair cut was not my idea of relaxing. Had I known there was no real mani/​pedi set up I might not have chosen this place.
On the plus side though, there was a Unilocal check in deal for new customers which is 20% off. They happily honered this offer which was great!
Overall, I’m a bit torn. I really liked Kelli, but no dedicated space for mani/​pedi and no spa chairs kind of sucks.

My long time stylist, Kathryn G., just moved to this salon. She is the best stylist I have ever been to and when she told me she was moving from her former salon I was worried I’d have to stop seeing her if she moved too far. Fortunately, she is now at Salon Milano and it isn’t much farther of a drive for me! Not only is Kathryn amazing but the salon is beautiful as well. It doesn’t come across as uptight like it easily could in Newport Beach. I feel very welcome there and the staff has always been very kind.

Chased my stylist, Diane, here. Salons may appear dime a dozen, but here is what I find distinguishes one from the other.
1. Front Desk Attendant: Really kind, helpful and personable. You’re not treated like the foreign queen of Austria, you’re treated like a close friend. I don’t like the stuffy ‘pamper to your every need’, I like good, courteous customer service, anything more stuffy and pampering just makes me feel uncomfortable!
2. Salon amenities and set up: They sell Jane Iredale products and the set up is very clean, organized and very minimalistic. You won’t be dodging headless chickens with a towel on your head, if you know what I mean!
Overall, I had a really great experience here, and I can expect to return frequently!

Salon Milano is great. I am very picky about who touches my hair. I have long, thick, wavy hair and it’s extremely hard to find a stylist who can give me a great cut. I took a chance with one of the stylist at Milano and she gave me a great cut. She was very professional, pleasant, and highly skilled. I even received a 20% off discount on my bill, without asking for it, because it was my first visit. I am impressed and happy. I recommend going to this salon

I recently moved to the area and was in search of a new salon I could call home. I came into the salon to check it out and ended up getting their lunch hour hair cut special. Brooke did an amazing job and was extremely personable. I can honestly say the cut Brooke gave me has got to be one of the best cuts I have ever received. I am excited to find the salon and Brooke.
I would recommend this salon to anyone.

Loved this place! I was plesantly surprised to find this great salon close to my office. The front desk staff are super professional and the service felt very high end! Brooke does an amazing blowdry and my color service was great. They were very accomodating when I was 15 min late to my color appt and they made sure I got the deep conditioning tx I wanted at a future appt when THEY happened to be running behind on my blowdry. So that was awesome. Be sure to see Vivian for a manicure while getting your hair done… so convenient! They feature great products such as Enjoy & Morrocan Oil… which I love.

This is my second visit to Salon Milano. It has a convenient location. I’ve been very comfortable with my stylist for years but was in a bind and they were available. I was linked up with Brooke and she is great. Very nice, remembered exactly what we did the first time on my hair. They have it figured out and I now consider this my primary location for a cut.

I was hesitant to go here at first fearing it was an establishment for a more mature crowd, I was greatly mistaken and wished I had come to this realization sooner. You see, I am so busy that if I don;t have time to get a hair cut I simply buzz my hair, my wife LOVES that! So, I decided to give Salon Milano a try. I asked for Brooke as she had said hello in passing a few times and seemed like a very nice person.
I will cut to the chase, Brooke ROCKS and I have an appointment to go back in 30 days. If you knew me you would understand the significance of that statement. I am over 40 years old and have NEVER had a «go to» barber or hair stylist. It’s my own fault, I’m too picky and if I’m going to pay good money for a hircut I want it to look great. I have now found that situation! Thank you Salon Milano and thank you Brooke, my wife loves my haircut!

I was getting coffee this morning at Coffee Bean and realized that I had parked right in front of Salon Milano. My best friend ever, Michele started working there recently and I had to stop in and say hi! She luckily was working and had a few minutes to say hi to me when I noticed her feather extensions!
I had to have some, so I came back later in the day, and Michele had set me up to get them from the owner. I picked colors and they were in my hair within 15 minutes and they look awesome! The owner was super nice, and the salon is gorgeous, bright, and inviting.
I love my new super awesome feather extensions and I can’t wait to show them off! I am going to come back to get more in the future and see my best buddy and super awesome hair stylist, Michele!

Unilocal does it again!
(Men: don’t be hesitant just because the word ‘Salon’ is in the title. This place is great for us too)
Looking for a nearby place to get a haircut, I pull out my trusty Unilocal app for a recommendation. Up pops Salon Milano, and suggests asking for Michele. Home run on both suggestions! (that’s called foreshadowing)
I called ahead and they got me in on short notice and when I walked in they were ready for me. No waiting at all!
This place is really nice. Light colored marble, open air feel, not congested, and spotless. Every one is super friendly too.
Michele was fantastic. I’m not picky about my hair, but she still took the time get some background from me, how I take care of my hair and like to wear it, what products I use, etc to help gauge the best styling options.
Since I am oblivious to how most hair products work, she even took the time to explain why volumizers never worked for me in the past. (heat activated, & I usually never blow dry my hair. Who knew?) Maybe that’s common knowledge to you, but I found it very helpful.
Another nice touch is letting you change into a smock in the back, so you don’t get hair down your shirt and have it irritate your neck the rest of the day. Thank you!
Like most nice places they also wash your hair as part of the service, but the scalp & neck massage here is to die for. They should sell this service as an option. I’d come back every week between cuts just to get the wash & massage. It’s that good!
Sometimes getting a cut can be awkward because you’re sitting there for 45 minutes one on one with someone you don’t know trying to think of things to say to pass the time. But this was not the case with Michele. She’s super friendly, fun, & easy to talk to. I felt like I had known her for months. The cut went by super fast!
Most importantly, Michele is a great stylist. Her attention to detail made it one of the best cuts I’ve ever received. She didn’t rush through anything to try and get more customers into her schedule. She took the time to make sure it was done right. She knows her stuff.
She even sent a hand written thank you card afterwards. Really nice touch that makes you feel important. They really value your business here. Plus, they offer a discount to Unilocalers! Nice!
Great experience. I will be coming back often.

Michele is awesome! I have a ton of hair and she’s always patient and thorough. Do yourself a favor and go see her! (Good blow-​outs too!)
