Took us a while to find it. Its hidden next to the water side(you can see the water from the restaurant), next to the fun zone boat ticket booth and ferris wheel. The Greek fries(feta cheese, Greek meat, tomatoes) are pretty bomb. Rammer burger is one meaty burger with toasted bun, bacon, Swiss cheese and pickles. Give it a try!

Everyone raves about Peter’s so I was excited to check it out. I ordered a Gyro. It was good but nothing special. Same with teh sweet potato fries. They tasted like the kind I get in the frozen section of the grocery store. My husband and friends all ordered the Patty Melt and they said it was really great. So I added another star for that. I docked a star because they were out of regular french fries. I mean, how do you run out of french fries. Employees are nice and the atmosphere is very casual and quiet. It was nice to sit outside and people watch. But overall, the food wasn’t anything special.

i went here to check out their new location at lunch time 12pm on a tuesday and they were closed… i drove from san clemente paid for parking and they were not open. Not even a sign on the door to explain why… WTF this is not how you run a business

Definitely a hidden gem because: A. It was empty(for now) B. It’s located in a touristy spot in the middle of a waterfront, high rent region of OC. C. Tasty, greasy blue collar fare in a white collar neighborhood(3 dollar parking and it gets full) D. It took a ferry ride to get here. If you want maximum satisfaction, get the ABC Burger but everything else on their menu is top notch also. The gyros and sweet potato fries weren’t bad either. Worth the long trip, trust me.

I live a mere two blocks from this location and didn’t notice it until last week. So either I’m blind or it opened up pretty recently. At any rate, it’s tiny interior(although nice) should not inhibit you from trying their big taste food. I was impressed by both the«Greek fries»(you had me at feta) and their gyro. Shame their menu isn’t larger because these folks are doing it right!

This place set the standard for Avocado Bacon Cheddar burgers for me. Is there anything more I need to say? The only reason that I didn’t give this burger joint 5 stars is because of the dude who took my order who looked like he was lost and trippin’ on acid n shit, and the fact that they had run out of regular french fries when I went to order. Overall, this place is a must-try. Pros: –ABC Burger is amazing. Cons: –more fries

I came here per my friend, Hazel Q.‘s, recommendation… and it’s one of those hole in the wall gems. I came here with another friend who had eaten here before and said they have pretty damn good tasting burgers. Upon entering, the menu is written on a chalk board. It’s very plain and simple… handful of different burgers(ABC is noted one of the best — Avocado, Bacon, Cheddar), handful of different sandwiches(I had the worker suggest one — Chicken pesto and it was superb… they grill the out side bread with Swiss and also have I believe mozzarella on the inside… but of course I had mine with out cheese). We also ordered sweet potato fries which were cooked crispy and tasty. The staff is helpful and friendly. I believe they just opened up recently at this location so they’re still working out the kinks. I like how it’s an open kitchen so you can see your food being made once you’ve placed your order. They also TAKECASHONLY!!! SONOCREDITCARDSFELLOW UnilocalERS!!! Seating is first come first serve… I only saw about 5 – 6 tables that can fit 2 – 4 people on each table. I’d definitely like to go back to try their other sandwich and hamburger creations. All their items are fairly reasonably priced.

Seriously? One girl working on a Saturday night? With one table of six plus a two-person phone order ahead of us we waited 25 minutes to get our food. She didn’t even give us our sodas until after that. My burger was getting cold, but the fries were hot … When they arrived five minutes later. This place should get one of those«minutes to» signs like those that hover over the 405. And what’s with having all the condiments, the soda fountain AND the napkins behind the counter. Good food, poorly run.

Super disappointed. Amazing food, however horrible consistency. Very undependable hours, will change my review once they can provide a consistent schedule. Once they never opened on a saturday at all… a satruday in Newport beach?! That is crazy… Now aside from that, I’ve had the gyro fries, sweet potatoe fries, regular fries, the ABC burger, the bacon swiss mushroom, the Tuna grill, and the basil chicken sandwich and all are absolutely delicious. My favorites being the basil chicken sandwich and the tuna grill! Try it out! It’s definitely one of the best spots around the balboa pier to eat!

A new location(compared to the one in Tustin) just opened up in Newport! I really like the surrounding area(not that a rustic gas station isn’t nice, but come on, it’s Newport). Same menu, same food quality, much better view. Highly recommend the ABC burger(with avocado, bacon, and cheddar) — it’s a monster to finish on your own, but a favorite in my book! Their sweet potato fries are pretty good, too. Be prepared to leave satisfied and a little ashamed at what you just ate.

I was so happy to see that there was a location closer to UC Irvine, here in Newport Beach instead of Tustin. I think this place might be popular during the day or something, because I went for dinner and they were out of avocado and pastrami. I got the mushroom swiss burger, and these burgers are really messy! I’ll ask for no tomato or lettuce next time. The fries here aren’t very good. They’re kind of flavorless. But the burger was very juicy and filling. I can’t wait to try the ABC burger next time. The buns are also really good! I will definitely come back.

I’ve been meaning to review Peter’s(original location) ever since I tried it over the summer. However, I told myself that I wouldn’t do so until I tried the Ooey Gooeys. Unfortunately, every time I went they were out of marshmallows =[ Other than that my only gripe is that this location is a lot further from my house than the original. However, they are relocating the original one a block from where it used to be, so I’m happy with that! The burgers are extremely good. The ABC Burger is something that you should definitely try when you eat here. The Rammer is also very good as well. I’m not a big fan of avocado/guac, but I really enjoy it in the ABC Burger. I don’t think I’ve ever had anything quite like the ABC Burger. I also recommend ordering a side of Greek Fries to go along with your burger. If you like eating carne asada fries, then I highly recommend trying the Greek Fries. I’m a huge fan of both, but I think I like Greek Fries more due to the gyro and the Tzatziki sauce they serve it with. Sometimes when a restaurant opens up another location, the food quality suffers. Fortunately, this is not one of those cases. The food was just as good as the original location. Plus they no longer have to close for 3 hours to get more supplies like they used to!

I ashamed to say that I’ve never visited the Peter’s Gourmade Grill in Tustin. But I happened to find myself in Newport last week and happened to be in need of some lunch and happened to remember that this new location had just opened. The ABC burger is pretty damn tasty. Is it as tasty as every Unilocaler in OC claims? Well, perhaps it’s a victim of its own hype, but to me it was a very good burger. I especially appreciated the hearty pieces of bacon on it, but it definitely didn’t stand out in my memory much more than that. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad. It was pretty good. I guess I just don’t get it. In any case this is a cute location right at the Balboa Fun Zone, so if you’re deathly afraid of pigeons, please be sure to have a dose of courage with your burger. These pigeons mean business. The service was super friendly and helpful. And the gyro fries are nothing to scoff at either, it’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

This is going to be HUGE come summer. Peter’s really has a great location and hope they have great success in Balboa. A coworker and I headed over on the ferry from Fashion Island area for lunch one day. There weren’t many people inside, which I was a little bummed about, but it had only been open a few days and it was a weekday in the winter.sooo. Anyway, there isn’t much décor on the walls, but I’m hoping that’s because they JUST opened and haven’t had a chance to make it fun. The girl behind the counter was FANTASTIC and she kept calling us sweetie, which was kind of cute. Service is everything and I really liked her! The food is great, as always. I suggested the Greek fries to my coworker who had never been before and he really liked them. I got a chicken gyro, and while good, I think I’ll stick to the burgers in the future. I mean, I’m not really sure WHY I even bothered with anything else. Their burgers are great! Someday I want to try the gooey fries, but I need a larger group of people!

Places like Peter’s make my day! living in Orange County there are so many chain restaurants that cool hole in the wall restaurants with food like this are the best. I’m OMW to the Newport location now I need my ABC!

Congrats on expanding Mr. Peter Starvros! Keep up the awesome flavors. BUT please train your cooks to CARE about the food that comes out of your kitchens. Your original Tustin location did screw up a few times, no bacon on the ABC burger. & undercooked fries. First timers, if you were going to get ONE thing, stop reading the menu and just get a ABC burger. Take that first bite and just let all the different flavors absorb onto your taste buds, there’s NOTHING like it. Crazy people can get those 24K gold infused encrusted for $ 1000 and all they are eating is bragging right. Peter’s Gourmade is like Unicorn meat cooked by Leprechauns, it’s purely magical!

You win, Peter. You win. You win the award for best hamburger. Ever. Your prize is all of the internets and Unilocal superstardom. I’m almost afraid to get anything else at Peter’s because I’d feel like I wasted the valuable real estate in my stomach. I’ll probably just start doubling up my order –ABC Burger to start and then whatever else I haven’t tried. Know this though, if you go to Peter’s and don’t get an ABC burger, you are truly missing out. I’d also like to give a shout out to the former champion, Va Bene 2, in San Sebastian, Spain. 6 years ago I had to go half-way around the world to find the best hamburger. Thankfully it’s been dethroned by someone in my backyard.

Best Burger West of The Mississippi River hands up. We enjoyed The Greek Fries and a ABC Burger. This place is a little hole in the wall but worth the walk if you live here locally near the Balboa Fun Zone. The meat was juicy and full of flavor, the cheese on the fries was inviting. Next time I come I want to try the pastrami burger. If your in the area and want food that is moderately priced, stop by and say hi to Peter. We will be back!
