My daughter is currently in her 3rd show with MTA. She has learned so much and really enjoys it. The whole process is top notch. Live music at all rehearsals, costumes, direction, sets, and make-up are amazing. It’s not just the end product that is so high quality. The process of getting to the performances is intensive. The children really learn what it takes to put on a top quality show, how to work together, the dedication and hard work it takes. All while having a blast! If your child enjoys singing and dancing, you should check it out. They also offer singing and acting classes. Classes for all ages.

Musical Theatre Academy has been one of the BEST activities my son has ever done! I had researched several places and loved that MTA offers shows based on your age. In the past, my son was in a show with the age range from 7 – 18 years old. Since my son was only 7, we saw him on stage for 5 minutes(one song) and sat for a 2 hour show watching the high school kids perform. MTA breaks up the ages from 7 – 10 years old(also 11 – 12 years old, then 12 – 18 years old) so the younger kids can get a chance for a big part. Best thing about MTA is even if your child is ensemble, they are on stage almost the entire show as well and often have more costume changes and parts so the kids are equally excited. The staff promotes and exemplifies teamwork which is wonderful and refreshing in such a competitive world these kids see in school and sports everyday.

Try one of their 5-star Masters classes to learn more about theatre arts — makeup, improv, auditions, and more. The Masters classes are interesting for older children. The people are pleasant, and know the business. If you are just starting your child on the track of theatre arts, this is a good place to try. They have lots of musicals — hence their name. If your child wants to sing, explore a few vocal classes — the audience will appreciate it!
