The double dipped chocolat old fashioned is seriously good. Gotta have them every time I pass the place.

I love this place. Whenever I need a blueberry donut or bagel fix, this is my place. Especially because it is conveniently close to my house!

Love this place. The donuts are fresh and there is a great variety. I pick up the donuts for the office and a low carb sandwich for me. There is a low carb menu that offers plenty of variety without the guilt of carby deliciousness. I love that they can accommodate my healthy diet as well as my cheat days. Best donut place around.

The day shift(usually a bunch of guys) are amazing! Everything they make is delicious and the service is 5 star, but the night shift… the older Asian lady that works is a … what’s the word a piece of $h!t and a rude a$$ b! t€#! She usually is on her headset talking on the phone while she is serving the customers, she never says thank you, and what really irritates me and has happened twice now, I will call in before heading there and place an order for pick up. This usually consist of 4 – 5 sandwiches. Both times she sits there and pretends to take down my order over the phone, only for me to arrive and both times now and say«hello, I placed an order for pick up» and she says«oh I didn’t think you were really coming!» Why would you pretend to take down these orders and not make them? Why not just confirm that The customer is certain that he’s picking them up, or require a credit card payment over the phone? It’s so rude and on excusable and finally irritated me enough to leave this review. But again let me reiterate that the daytime crew is solid

This place has everything you want out of a donut shop. Fresh juices, hot/iced coffee, breakfast food, and the best donuts. Only a few places make a blueberry glazed donut and they have it here.

I work down the street from here. They have wonderful service, the donuts are always fresh as well as the delicious variety of coffee and creamers. My absolute favorite thing to get is a half plain bagel with avocado and a slice of turkey! Try it with lemon pepper so so so so GOOD!

I came across this place on Unilocal when I was in the area and decided to give it a try since it was rated so high. It’s a very small place with limited seating. It was pretty crowded being after 9 a.m. on a weekday. I ordered 2 doughnuts and a coke. It was almost $ 4. Kind of pricey for doughnuts and a drink. The doughnuts were fresh and good, but nothing spectacular. Most people there were ordering breakfast sandwiches. Those did look good and I might try one if I come back in. Overall, I would give it 3.5 stars. It’s a normal doughnut shop with breakfast sandwiches. But it’s a little on the higher end of price range for doughnuts.

Molly here makes the best sandwiches. Great late night spot if you didn’t want to stop by the jack in the box in the same parking lot. Fresh juices, sandwiches, donuts, just perfect after a night of fun. Everyone that works behind the counter is nice and courteous. Usually other late night spots are filled with cranky and mean employees… not here!

I literally go to this place 3x a week in the mornings because it’s on my way home from the gym, I know I know, totally counter productive going to a donut shop after the gym… I absolutely love this little shop, I get a dozen donuts, I have two very active growing boys who love their donuts, and a ham&cheese croissant! The service is excellent and selection is huge. I’ve never been disappointed, but I have to say my all time favorite thing is the dough boys coffee, I get a large with every visit regardless if I want coffee or not! Try this local spot, you won’t be disappointed!

Great variety of donuts and so much more. I’ve tried much of what they offer and what I’ve tried has been good. However, as much as I come here, I still revert back to my Ham & Jalapeño Cheese Croissant, Strawberry & Cream Cheese Strudel(with yummy sugar crystals on top) and/or their light and flaky Cinnamon Twists. The food has remained consistently good. The reason for my updated review from 4 to 5 stars is due to the Dough Boy staff. Even when I’ve often come in with my disheveled, ready-to-hit-the-beach hair, flip flops and torn jean shorts(bad looking enough to scare off the seagulls), they have always been hospitable and nice to me. I love that they smile and acknowledge me, as soon as I walk in the door, and already blurt out my usual order. I need to make it a point to add pictures of them on Unilocal soon, as they deserve to be recognized.

This is one of my favorite late night indulgences! I actually crave their breakfast sandwiches, it must be the butter, salt and pepper :) Great customer service, even with the hotmess that walks in their doors at all hours of the night!

Yummy and fun! Got a dozen donuts here. It’s right next to Chronic Tacos. The ones I liked were the bacon maple donut of course, then all the fruit flavored icing donuts, and lastly the good old chocolate frosted donuts. The green juice was so refreshing too. The small size was almost like a kid’s size! Lol. But it was very good. And who knew it’s open 24 hours?!

They don’t sell cronuts anymore! I got excited to try cronuts but they no longer sell them. I got a brownie and a bacon donut, not the best but ok.

I was honestly hoping for a better selection and something unique here. When I came late afternoon last Saturday it was just your usual donut selection and I went with a blueberry. Maybe they were just sold out of all of the good stuff, but there was not much less and nothing else was calling me. The donut was fine, nothing special though. Soft, fresh, tasty, but not worth going out of your way for. The location itself is great, tons of easy and free parking which is hard to find this close to the beach. Service was nice, the place a bit dark and scruffy but clean. Might have to stop by again earlier in the day and see if they can redeem themselves.

Stumbling back to my car some what still tipsy from a local lido island house party, I saw a sign for a 24 hour doughnut shop. I thought to myself, have I just accidentally come across a true Newport Beach diamond in the rough? I was thrilled because I was about to revert to eating at Jack-in-the-box at 1:30 a.m., which definitely would have been sub par compared to what I indulged in at Dough Boy’s. I walked over to the restaurant that finds itself in a semi-sketchy strip mall near by the PCH. I say semi-sketchy from the perspective of some one that came across this restaurant at 1:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning(you could only image the characters that are on the prowl at that hour). I am sure during normal business hours, its perfectly safe ;). The interior of the restaurant is like your typical doughnut shop but from what I remember quite clean for a 24 hour joint. They have some indoor seating but nothing for large volumes of people. After looking over their extensive menu, stopping myself from looking through their doughnuts, I ended up buying a sausage, egg and cheese croissant. This was probably one of the best doughnut shop egg breakfast sandwiches I have had so far(mind you by breakfast I mean a super early breakfast ;)). For a 24 hour hot spot their eggs tasted surprisingly fresh as well as their meat. The interesting thing is, I didn’t see the gentleman cook the eggs prior to preparing my sandwich, which completely blew me away as I stuffed my face. Delicious, good portion, and at a fairly reasonably price around 4 or 5 $ would definitely recommend this eatery to anyone in the area post partying or getting an early start to their day. I am definitely coming back to try their doughnuts because from other pictures and reviews it seems divine.

Guilty indulgence delivering on SINFUL indulgences. After some grubbing at the neighboring Chronic Tacos(also in a rundown plaza with a Flame Broiler, Italian market and Japanese restaurant), this spot delivered on hitting the sweet spot. I’m not one to normally crave sweets or indulgences that will make me hate myself – I blame my roommates for influencing this decision – but, I have to say, this place is solid. It is all you would expect of a normal beachside donut shop. Not entirely glamorous but not entirely rundown either. A bit on the older side, this place has fresh doughnuts waiting for you up front at the counter. They have a special«Ice-Nut» that they do, which is a warm ice-cream filled donut of your choice… SWEETOVERLOAD! BEWARE! Besides that, their Cream Puffs are DELICIOUS. At 30 cents a piece or a dozen for $ 6, it’s a great, refreshing, cool and sweet addition to any day. I’d definitely crave those since they aren’t entirely sweet or heavy, but the right amount of lightness and fluff. They also sell slices of Cheesecake which caught my eye, but I turned away before I would regret more! Overall, a sinfully indulgent location with a good selection to cater to your taste. I’m not much of a donut-lover, but my friends and I seemed to grow a love-hate relationship with these dough boys. And the staff had a casual ease that hit it right at home(and for influencing my bad decisions).

I don’t eat donuts, and you probably shouldn’t either, but DB’s various breakfast bagel selections are excellent, and will hopefully ween you off those fried sugared gut bombs. I usually avoid bagels not freshly made in an authentic«bagel shop», but the bagels served here are fresh and come to you hot. My go-to is the egg, cheese, and bacon on an onion bagel. A neighbor raves about their coffee, but I don’t do drugs in the morning, so can’t speak to that. They do have a tacked up sign that states 50% off for refills. Is that a deal? Dunno. When in the Newport Peninsula area, these friendly folks deserve your business. At peak AM hours they have 5 or 6 staff members hustling to get you quickly on your way, so don’t be deterred if the line is to the door. Also open 24 hours.

Actually I wanted to give 3& ½ stars but I didn’t quite like the cleanness of the place so I had to minus the half star. I bought the maple bacon donut, vanilla icing rasberry, cream cheese filled cronut and a strawberry cream cheese cinnamon sugar sprinkled strudel. Maple bacon donut: no cream filled, pretty dense bread. Maple icing tasted nothing like maple syrup. It is more of brown sugar frosty flavor. Two whole pieces of bacon on top which I love, they are seasoned with right amount of saltiness. But I would like them a lil more crispy! Vanilla icing rasberry, cream cheese filled cronut: the presentation looks so adorable and scrumptious! Overall, the texture is a bit more crispier than a regular croissant. The sweetness of the rasberry filling is a lil too sweet for my taste bud. Cream cheese filling isn’t tasting true to sour cheesy cream, but more like light custard. Without the icing, I would give this cronut a 4 star but icing kinda degraded the whole flavor. Another fascinating fact is that the baker make a fresh cronut in no more than 2 min! Strawberry cream cheese strudel: it is too dense. I like my strudel light, fluffy and think and somewhat crispy outside. But this one is nothing like that. It is more like a heavy doughy pie. Strawberry cream cheese and rasberry cream cheese filling tasted just same. Lastly, sprinkling cinnamon and sugar on top is totally un necessary but only ruining the flavor! I loved the owners here, they were very courteous, and friendly. I was very tempted to try more of other donuts but as soon as I spotted a fly got into the window case and hopping on from a donut to a donut… um…I kinda lost an appetite. In the shop, there are so many flies. Hope they clean the environment a bit more and install a screen door at the entrance!
