Came here two times last week. First time I got the Classic Pita Falafel and I added feta cheese with Greek salad, it was pretty good. Their pita bread is fluffy, very yummy! Second time I got the Mix & Match with steak and grilled shrimp with fries and Greek salad, the steak was good, but I didn’t like the shrimp, the taste was not as I expected. This place is really good, but it takes time because they don’t have a lot of workers, the cashier helps with the plates which makes the line a little bit long. Other than this it worth the shot.

Daphne’s California Greek is a healthier take on traditional Greek food. Unfortunately, this makes it a little bland for my taste… Located in the Newport Bluffs shopping center, Daphne’s is one of the limited food options for anyone in the area looking for a quick bite during lunch. The service at Daphne’s has always been good when I eat there. The employees are generally nice and friendly. The food is ok if you’re looking for a «healthier» option during lunch, I say that with quotes because it is still quite high in calories if you count all the sauces and extras that make the meal tastier. Without the sauces the food at Daphne’s can be a little bland. I had the Cali-Greek bowl with chicken and was definitely disappointed in how bland it tasted. The next time I went I had the Chicken Kabob/Gyro plate, which wasn’t bad at all. Would I eat here everyday? No. I probably wouldn’t even eat here once a week, but I would definitely drop by if I was in the area and wanted some fresh/clean tasting Greek food.

I loved coming to this place. This was my second time here and it’s so amazing!.. the customer service was great, my food came out fast and hot. The food was so good and healthy. The quality of customer service was excellent. This is my new fav spot. The manger there was so sweet with such a great attitude with helping and checking to see if our food was great. I will be coming back again!

My boyfriend picked up food from here for the first and last time yesterday. He picked up two combo plates that both included rice and a Greek salad. One had a beef kabob and chicken shawarma, and the other was beef gyro meat. I opened the box and right away noticed it being kind skimpy and graded their authenticity a 2 out 10, however it smelled yummy so I thought I would give it a try. The chicken shawarma had a good taste, but the beef on the kabob was so chewy that I couldn’t finish my skewer… And I only ordered one. The rice had a very oily taste, so I ended up eating the salad and didn’t finish anything. My boyfriend scarfed down his entrée and finished mine as well. This all happened in the early afternoon. I took a nap and woke feeling a little nauseous and threw everything up. By 11pm, my boyfriend began to complain about not feeling well too. He made some soup and went to sleep. An hour later I woke up to him throwing up violently. He was vomiting and had diarrhea all night. He was still throwing up this morning! Never eating at this place ever again!!! These people either serve old meat or fail to wash their hands. I’ve never seen such a violent reaction to food poisoning. I’m disgusted with this place.

Kind of underwhelming when you open the lid and see only a handful of fries inside. What’s up with that?

I really love Greek food and this would be a fast food version, not quite authentic but fast, affordable and they have locations all over. Service was nice, the falafel was ok and their sauce fantastic, really the highlight here. My husband didn’t enjoy his gyro, not much flavor and pretty small portions all around. The salads are ok here, nothing special, I am really missing flavor and quality, the sauce saves all. Not worth going out of my way to come back, but not bad.

With my new love for gyro plates and salads, I decided to give this place a try when I was in the neighborhood. I ordered the Greek salad with gyro meat to go. They give ½ the portion of meat compared to my usual spots, which is actually good b/c I always end up scarfing down the entire meal — usually with double the meat. The meat was good, but not as good as my favorites. Good pita, good service but nothing to rave about.

This location proves every location is different and that means quality as well. I came to this location as my last experience with Daphne’s was great. I have severe allergies — Celiac’s and dairy. well this place had no idea what their gluten free menu options meant. this is terrifying when you go to places for their gluten free menu. i no longer trust this chain and see a huge difference in locations.

I’ve been to this center many times mainly for chipotle. Decided to give Daphne’s a shot since I hadn’t had a gyro in a while. It’s one of the better gyros I’ve had in the Newport area. Been back a couple times since and only have tried the classic gyro. Will definitely be back!

The staff here does a great job! They are kind and patient. Food is good as always the Mediterranean salad is awesome and the chicken shawarma melt is too. It is crowded during lunch I usually call in my order and I have not had an issue with it being ready on time like some of the reviews I’ve read.

Love the food! Very tasty! Wasn’t sure what to order and the manager and staff were very helpful with giving suggestions. Fairly quick service as well(not McDonald’s fast though since they cook your food fresh!). Tons of outdoor seating which is great! Great place for a lunch date :)

I was hesitant on going to Daphne’s for lunch, but I decided to give this location a shot. The last time I went to another location, I literally got teeny tiny portions, and was still hungry afterwards. I ordered a combination plate, with Gyro and Chicken Kabob. The Gyro was well seasoned, and super tender. The Chicken was very tender, but it could have used more seasoning. The Tzatziki Sauce is light, refreshing, and adds flavor to the whole plate. This combination plate is served with rice, salad, and pita bread. The portion size at this location was big enough for two meals(for me). The service here was great. The lady who brings out your food and cleans up is SUPER sweet. I always just assume nicer areas(Newport Beach) always have better service anyways. This was less than $ 10 and definitely filled me up. Plus, it’s healthier than grabbing a burger or burrito for lunch! :D

I can’t say much about their other locations but, I must say George and his crew here in the Bluffs are good folks and make good food. Extremely convenient to my work place I find myself time and time again visiting and eating here. My usual plate of The Mediterranean Veggie satisfy even my beastly hunger after working on clients all day. I did take a point off solely on the consistency of the falafel that comes with my meals(sometimes it’s a little over cooked) and sometimes I don’t receive the tzatiki sauce, other than that, their Spanakopita is really really good! For a quick fix I really enjoy their Greek yogurt topped with blue berries and baklava. Give them a try sometime!

Tried again because ¾ times were really good, talked to the manager and he said they know who it was and fixed it :) glad to see they aren’t going downhill and was just one person! The veggie wrap is really good with sundried tomatoe wrap, made vegan with Hummus and grilled veggies instead!(Also has Cucumber salad and taboule in it) note: fries are cooked with shrimp.

Another one of my healthy meal spots! For around ~$ 10 you can get a good portion size meal with most of the food groups. The food takes around 8 – 10 minutes to prepare. I usually get the mix and match plate with gyro, chicken kabob, hummus, and fries. The food is generally pretty good overall. I used to come here much less often because they never wore gloves when preparing the meal, but they do as of a few months ago. Around that time they also changed the oil they use for there fries, and that’s an unfortunate downgrade both in taste and the way it looks. The service is good as it has friendly staff as well. Overall, it’s a pretty solid lunch spot if you’re in the mood for some Mediterranean.

I’m a huge fan of Greek/Mediterranean food; but the couple times I had dined at this Daphne’s, I always feel sick to my stomach and nauseous. Perhaps their ingredients may not be fresh(like Chipotle… mmmmm). I thought maybe the first time, it was an off day for them. But I gave them a second chance and it was even worse. I got the Cali-Greek Bowl and it was room temperature. I want to throw up thinking about it now. I remember I used to love Daphne’s, and then I had to go without it for a few years after moving out of state. And now that I’ve come back to it, it’s terrible. So disappointing for a Greek joint(although it is fast food) in Newport Beach.

Came here for lunch as a healthy alternative. They have the calories listed for every food item so it’s convenient if you’re on a diet!

Met up an old worker for lunch in this busy plaza known as The Bluffs off Bison and MacArthur. During lunch time, it took me about 10 minutes to find parking(I ended up near Panera/Corner Bakery, I forget what it was), I accidentally went in the loading/employee parking only area and just when I thought I scored a spot, I had to look onward. Now Daphne’s is as about as chain of a restaurant as you can get with Greek food and I have to say, they don’t execute it too bad at all. For my lunch, I got the mix and match two item combo(chicken kebab and falafel) which comes with two sides; I chose hummus and roasted vegetables. While the food tasted fine(I think the falafel here were good, I wish I had more), I felt like I was still hungry. I do probably have a more hearty appetite than most, but by the time I ate the last piece of bell pepper off my plate, my stomach could be heard growling. So with a busy lunch time parking plaza and average Greek food, I can satiate my cravings by walking to the Mediterranean place down the street from work– however, I would never be opposed to coming here again; just not blown away.
