Capriotti’s has great sandwiches, but this location is, unfortunately, poorly organized during the weekday lunch rush. Each time I’ve gone there, they didn’t have someone at the front counter taking orders and their kitchen was behind. During my recent visit, there were clearly a few disgruntled customers. One of them received the wrong order and another had been waiting over 15 minutes for his sandwich. I heard someone ask for the manager and they did not have one on duty. I think the manager eventually came out. All the while, the phone is ringing and the employees behind the counter are asking each other whether or not they should answer it.(Hint: yes, answer it.) Lastly, to the timid Asian gal who meekly called my name when my sandwich was ready, speak up! If I hadn’t been sitting 3 feet from you, I would have surely missed my order. You can do it. I believe in you. Listen, having a full house is a great thing for any restaurant, but if you want to stay popular, you need to give your customers their orders before their lunch hour is over. I wouldn’t necessarily deter folks from dining here, however, be cautious when visiting between the hours of 11:00am and 2:00pm from Monday through Friday. Perhaps call in your order or place it online prior to driving over.

Done with this place– Previous visits i have stale bread, steak sandwich with more bread than meat– contacted corporate previously to advise them and NORESPONSE! Today is the end for this customer– ordered and was the only guy waiting for a sandwich– 3 workers– after 15 minutes of waiting– i went up and asked where is my lunch? They said oh yea we will make it now! no «We are so sorry» — just«we will make it now». I said«thats it?, you will make it now?» yep that was it. I said well for me that was it!– give me my money back. They did offer some discount for a next visit but i did not take it as there will not be a next visit– when you have 3 bad experiences, ie: 3 strikes. your out! also no response from corporate on a complaint of quality your really out! I know people like this place maybe because its close by and better than subway? i have no idea but hey– Jersey Mikes is down the road and how much better are they!

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop will work in a pinch, but I would temper your enthusiasm. A colleague of mine mentioned that there was a Capriotti’s nearby and that the national chain recently earned the title Greatest Sandwich in America” by AOL which is akin to being crowned the world’s tallest midget, but figured I would give them a shot all the same. If you have been to Jersey Mike’s, Tommy Pastrami or even Subway you will be familiar with the look and feel of Capriotti’s. The sandwiches start at $ 8.00 and can climb to $ 12.00 but the serving sizes are honestly gigantic. I would wager the 9 inch sub would quell even the most voracious of appetites. I chose to go with the Capastrami which is their take on a basic Hot pastrami and features Swiss cheese, Russian Dressing, and cole slaw on a large doughy white loaf of bread. At first glance the sandwich looked like the child that would be produced if Langer’s and Uncle Mike’s had unprotected after-bar-close sex in the back of a Camry in a DTLA parking lot. That is about where any comparison to Langer’s will end. The Pastrami was subdued, if not totally muted. I don’t know if the dressing is just too strong, the bread too thick or the Pastrami is just too weak but I got brined and smoked red meat factor zero. If I were of Jewish decent, I would take personal offense to how lacking in flavor the Pastrami was and scream«Oy Vey» at the top of my lungs. Nobody likes a boring Pastrami. That said, the portions really are otherworldly, the interior of the restaurant is key immaculately clean and the menu is diverse enough to warrant another visit to give Capriotti’s another«Pepsi Challenge» in the future. Perhaps another day will afford Capriotti’s a shot at that 3rd star.

Decent sub for a decent price. It’s like your subway but with a out-of-the-box approach. Came here during lunch around noon and it was packed. My friend and I shared the Capistrami and the Italian. The Capistrami had a bit too much Russian sauce for me whereas the Italian was just right. The small sub is definitely big enough to split with someone if you’re not incredibly hungry. Service was good and fast at this location — especially during lunch time. They ran out of stamp cards but I don’t think I’ll be a frequent flier here to meet the«free sub» after 10 visits. But I do think it’s definately worth a try, I mean where else can you get a thanksgiving style sub(the Bobbie) in the springtime?

For those that like a turkey sandwich topped with cranberry sauce this just might be the place for you. I personally found their turkey a bit dry, but then again, most turkey is dry. Seeing how turkey sandwiches are their headlining product I went there expecting something a little more special. However, to be fair, they always seem to have a decent lunch crowd, but this just is not the place for me.

Bomb. I work around here and wanted to try something different so I came across this and this place is so good. Like no need to over emphasis it but it was so good. I recommend coming here. Place deserves five stars. I will be returning thanks for the great lunch!

Looking for a decent sandwich that is better than your average chain sub, but still has that clean-cut corporate feel? Capriotti’s has what you want. The sandos here are a cut above your average chain fare. The style fits right in with the surrounding business/office-park and strip-mall chic. The offerings are less fresh but maybe more gourmet than a Subway. And the choices more interesting. Aside from the slight differences from, say, a Jimmy John’s, Quizno’s, or Subway, this is par for the course for chain subs. A-OK, but I probably wouldn’t make a special trip here.

The Bobbie! So glad they have this in socal too. Here if you check in you get a free cookie or brownie! There is also free delivery if you use their code word on Unilocal. Must try! They have several locations: Las Vegas, reno, several in socal, and soon to be San Jose!

Not thrilled. Read the mixed, but overall good reviews, so we gave it shot. We had the cold and bland turkey cranberry creation and a Philly cheesesteak. A great sub starts with the bread. This is where it ended at Capriottis. It was tasteless, dry and thick. By the time I was half way through the cheesesteak, I had systematically peeled off the whole top layer of both halves of the roll. It looked like a small mound of kindling wood in the middle of the table. The other sub consisted of unseasoned dry turkey slathered with globs of cranberry sauce and chunks. Gobble gobble. The Capriottis should stick to tennis and leave the sub making to Jersey Mikes and Hollingshead in Orange. Kudos for the GM emailing me after this post and indicating there was a recent bread change… I’ll give them another shot.

My husband and I didn’t intend to come here for lunch, but since we were right next door at The Dessert Lab, we decided to venture inside to grab some sandwiches. We ordered: 1) The Bobbie — Homemade Turkey, Cranberry Sauce, Stuffing, and Mayo. 2) Capstrami — Hot Pastrami, Melted Swiss Cheese, Russian Dressing, and Cole Slaw. I liked the Bobbie, ask for no or light mayo! Free dessert or chips with Unilocal check in!

I had lunch here. I ordered the 9′ Capastrami. On the menu, it is advertised to come with pastrami, swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and cole slaw. The bread was the star of the show with the sandwich. It was fresh tasting and had a good bready flavor. But, all that I could taste in the sandwich was predominantly, the bread and the Russian dressing. There was a fairly good amount of pastrami on the sandwich but it was well overpowered by the bread and dressing and everything else in the sandwich. It was just kind of a bland mish-mash with, disappointingly, no pastrami flavor. My lunch bud ordered the Bobbie was said that his was also bland and kind of a mish-mash of flavors not being able to taste the turkey or any other distinct flavors. The location is in a strip center close the Orange County Airport. The service is over-the-counter.

This place is alright. The sandwiches aren’t bad but they aren’t great either. I thought based off of the reviews that I would be satisfied with this place, but I was not. The staff is nice and attentive. There’s a pretty straightforward menu above the registers. I’ve had the ham sandwich and the hot italian sandwich. I know their signature is the Bobby but I’m not a fan of turkey. Maybe that’s why I didn’t like this place so much. Anyway, the sandwiches are just okay. I was expecting a little more. I think there was just something missing in them and I can’t put my finger on it.

I’ve already reviewed the Irvine Capriotti shop so this place is no exception. They won be over at the Bobbie, but what’s really great sandwiches here is the Capistrami(their version of hot pastrami) and the Cheesesteak. I usually don’t order anything else. Of course, your experience will vary. Yes, do check in on Unilocal for a free bag of chips. Yes, do look for Groupon or Livingsocial deals. You’re basically paying half price for the sandwiches if you do buy these online deals. I love how they just wrap it up on butcher paper, it’s nice and simple and I don’t really need any more garbage in my life. Just a thought on this location if you come on the weekends, everything in this industrial area is really dead but don’t let that fool you. Capriotti’s is open.

Good sandwiches… food is a solid four but the girl at th front was such a sweetheart I’m awarding five stars. They even brought an extra table outside for us when all of the outside tables were full. I had the Bobbie(turkey, canberry and thanksgiving style stuffing) and my hubs had a large meatball sandwich. When they brought them out to us there were three wrapped sandwhiches on the tray. I told her I only ordered two sanwiches and she told me that she cut the large meatball in half… yes…the portions are just that huge! My sandwich was good but the french roll was just a little hard. It would have been much better if they had zapped the bread in the microwave to soften it before they made the sandwhich. My hubs said his was good but the cheese needed to be heated up in the sandwich a little bit. Capriotti’s is a little bit priceer than Subway but worth it the extra cost. They give you a stamp card here… get«x» amount of stamps and get a free sandich.

I’m a big fan of Capriotti’s. Food is normally outstanding which makes up for the erratic service. This location has a new design which has completely changed the ordering process, once a unique feature of Capriotti’s. I once heard«if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it». My Capastrami(pastrami, Swiss cheese, cole slaw, & Russian dressing) was excellent — all’s well that ends well, right! Also recommend the Grilled Italian, the Bobbie, and one of the best cheesesteaks around.

I wasnt sure this location would be open on the weekends since its located around alot of businesses, but it is! The staff is very friendly and fairly quick to get your order out. Dont forget to check in on Unilocal to get a free bag of chips! The location is big with lots of seating and youre able to see them making your sandwich. The Bobbie is my favorite and very filling! When your craving a Thanksgiving sandwich(turkey, dressing and cranberry sauce), you and have to come here! Ive also tried the Capistrami, but I didnt like it as much as the Bobbie. The Capistrami is a pastrami with cole slaw. Still pretty tasty. On a weekend, Id probably come to this location over the District one. I wouldnt want to hassle with that parking lot.

Capastrami is BOMB! I totally did not expect an amazing sandwich from this place. I thought it would be more like Subway, Togo etc. Hot juicy pastrami, with melted swiss cheese, cole slaw and Russian dressing was seriously a party in my mouth. Prices are a little pricy but give it a try if you like pastrami! The hours on Unilocal are wrong! They don’t close at 8:30. They close at 7. Check in on Unilocal for a free bag of chips :)

A let down and disappointment after all the great things I’d heard. I might be too kind in giving that 3rd star, but Groupon led me here so I saved some buckage, so hence 3 stars. I’ll just start with I really am not a fan of turkey. In fact, I’ve now given up turkey even at Thanksgiving. So for any peeps who want to say go back and«try the Bobbie», that is a no-go. Medium sized cheesesteak was good size, decent price and the bread was actually very good(soft and fresh). Steak quality was not good, not chopped correctly, overcooked, along with the onions and where the hell was my cheese? I returned it and asked for another and pretty please can I have one that vaguely resembles the picture? The next was better but still not good compared to Philly’s Best or Frank’s Philadelphia. Hubby had the meatball and it was a mess! So much sauce that it had soaked the bread into partial mush. Yuck. He said the sauce was nothing memorable and that the homemade meatballs were at best okay. Staff was disinterested, service was slow but on the plus side, the manager did bring a nice size bowl of cold water for Kaya and he did order the remaking of my cheesesteak pronto. He was a young manager, still could learn quite a bit about customer service, but there is hope for him. I cannot see ever coming back. It’s not cheap, it’s not close to home or work and the food wasn’t really good. A quick perusal of the rest of the menu did not have me licking my chops and nothing was standing out, hence no feeling that perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing.

My first capriotti’s sandwhich was last year at the Unilocal Spring Break in Vegas. I had the Bobbie and I really liked it. They indicated that a shop was opening up in the OC soon. Well it took me a while but I finally stepped into one that opened up close to the office. Although I enjoyed the bobbie I wanted to try something else. Capistrami ~ I ordered a 9″ sandwhich. I do luv pastrami however im not a huge fan of coleslaw so I was a bit torn on ordering it. First off their bread is very soft and tasty. Not one of those hard ones that cut the roof of your mouth. The coleslaw was ok. It wasnt overly sweet. The pastrami itself was bland and instead of slices of pastrami like you see in their picture I ended up with cut up end pieces. The coleslaw to pastrami ratio seem to be even but it would be better to have more pastrami. Italian ~ My friend order a 12″ Italian sub. This looked really good. Definitely big enough to eat one half for lunch and another for dinner. I may want to get this next time. As we were there eating another coworker stopped in and said the Philly cheesesteak was really good. I would want to try that as well. Eyes ~ Nice size place! Nose ~ Smells good. Ear ~ Happy diners! Mouth ~ Tasty! Tummy ~ Perfect size for lunch.
