Great fast service! Frendly staff! Even the manager was walking around asking if everything was good! Nice!

Yes — Panera Bread is a chain and one would hope and expect that when going into a casual fast food chain — you would get the same food/service in Utah as you would in Connecticut. Sadly — if you are reading this you know this is not always the case. We have all been to those questionable establishments blinded by the glitz and glamor of consistency. Luckily — the Panera Bread location on the Berlin Turnpike is the rule more than the exception. Clean and comfortable, like a warm embrace — its décor is as consistent as consistent can be. The staff is always courteous and willing to «modify» my order and on those times that I have ordered my meal«to go» I have never been disappointed that my order will be incorrect once I arrive home. If you are looking for a good soup and sandwich shop — this is definitely a good option while shopping on the Berlin Turnpike.

I wanted to give this location a bad review because they messed up an order quite badly. As in I-don’t-even-know-what-I’m-eating bad. So I complained and very soon after received a personal email from the owner who then sent me a voucher for a free lunch in the mail. That kind of thing makes me smile: being attentive and caring about people(even if it’s for the sake of maintaining a reputation). Besides that incident, this location is fine!

a cashier, Dee Dee works here and she couldn’t be more rude! Unlike others, I will not be returning to this Panera. This girl was the rudest front end associate I have ever met and if Panera wants her as the face of their restaurant, then shame on them This Dee Dee was also eating while waiting on us and you couldn’t understand her because her mouth was full. She actually had the nerve to say«Are you ready yet» when we were waiting on her!

RUDE employees at the front counter. They cannot handle even a small amount of customers! It is just amazing that people working as the cash register would be so rude. Put them in the back making the food if the customer service sucks! Or better yet fire them! Completely unacceptable.

I had a turkey panini to go. Very good, fair amount of turkey too.

I wanted a place to sit and have some soup the other day, and since I was in the area, Panera seemed to be a good choice. I was wrong. The girl at the counter seemed more interested in staring at her overly painted nails than actually taking an order, and when asked a question about one of their products, she was unable to answer. Very obviously, she did not want to be there. I ended up trying their lemon chicken orzo soup. Also a mistake. It was terrible. The only hint of lemon at all came from the copious amounts of lemon seeds that made my broth into a crunchy mess. The orzo itself walked that fine line between mush and paste, and the chicken tasted like it came from a can… of catfood. I will not be getting this soup again at this, or any other, Panera location. There was a steady flow of traffic in and out, and the staff — to their credit — did try and keep the place clean. Parking is good, as well, so I’d stop again if I needed a place to sit. But I’m sure not being beckoned in by the food. I can’t even commend them for having free wireless, since their wifi speed was so slow it made me want to hurl my laptop across the room. Argh!

I love panera bread! They have good foods n comfy rooms to hang out with your friends. Only I have to agree that this particular branch could be better in the«warm feeling» area. Staff yells, customers could hear it clearly. The cashiers are welcoming though. But hear this, I will keep coming to panera bread, they are too good to be missed…

Stopped in for a quick dinner and had to give the seasonal Strawberry Poppyseed Salad a second try. It had been a year or two since the first time I tried it and I know all of the ingredients sound great! There is chicken, pineapple, blueberries, mandarin oranges, pecans and of course strawberries on this salad. These are ALL ingredients I love and should love on any salad, but when I ate this I remembered exactly why I only had it once the summer I tried it, because the poppyseed dressing is bland and flavorless and adds nothing at all to this salad. I understand it’s fat free, but I’ve had plenty of other flavorful and delicious fat free dressings, so this is no excuse! I did get a pumpkin muffie for dessert, and that was pretty good. Let it be known I’ll never be getting this dressing on anything else I order here, such a disappointment when it looks like such a great salad!

Mmm! The food is the same as other paneras. My faves are the black bean soup, butternut squash soup, chocolate chip bagels, and smoothies. Soups rotate everyday. I usually need to research before I come in to expedite the overwhelming pick 2 option, but the staff is always helpful. I have a panera card so I get some free items or coupons time to time. Meals come with choice of side. I always get the apple, and their apples are great year round! Big seating area. Fast moving line. Great parking. No drive through

This one lacked a warm feeling. But they have a wide variety of soups which differentiates it from the other restaurant chains. The panini sandwich was not very exciting but the kids macaroni and cheese is really the best I have had so far.

If you are looking for a nice place for a quick lunch Panera is perfect! Wide selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. I am a big fan of the pick two option(choose two: cup of soup, half sandwiches or half salad). It is a chain, so the food is mass product but the ingredients are fresh. That is why it is only getting 3 stars. Though it is much better option than fast food in my opinion. Bonus this location has free wifi. Making it a good place for a business/working lunch meeting.

Just finished eating my beautifully constructed Italian Combo Sandwich(it’s been my sandwich of choice for quite some time now). My compliments to whoever built my sandwich today because it looked great. Normally I have to take the sandwich apart and reconstruct it to give it more balance but today it was perfectly put together. As usual I ordered extra special sauce on the side because there is never enough on the sandwich(something Panera should adjust to their sandwich making structure). To drink I always get the Brisk Raspberry Iced Tea it’s delicious and one of the main reasons I frequent Panera Restaurants. I also elected to add on a pastry for .99 something I don’t normally do, I ordered a double chocolate cookie with walnuts, pretty good but not worth the calories. I will definitely be coming back to this Panera due to the perfection of whoever that sandwich genius was behind the counter.

When it comes to a place to study(that is not a library), I am a fan of this place. The restaurant is bright with lots of windows. It is not as busy as the other Paneras I’ve been to(i.e. New Britain by Westfarms, the one one Rt 44 in West Hartford). The area of the restaurant near the counter has an area with tables/chairs and a bar with a generous number of electrical outlets ideal for working. I sit at the bar – the stool is comfortable, the space is bright, the outlet is right in front of me and I’m facing the window(although the view is the parking lot and the Walmart). Plus, I’m near the counter to order food. Surprisingly, it’s not busy or noisy to the point of distraction. And because I have my back to the main area, it’s not a problem for me at all. The service is super friendly. The food is standard Panera food. Nothing to write home about. The reason this is a 4-star review is because the bathroom needs to be improved. It is a bit dim, there is a funky smell and it is often not too tidy(i.e. tissue paper on the floor, toilet stall doors that could use some work). It is, however, well stocked and relatively clean. My favorite Panera to study, definitely.

Absolutely disappointed. The service was not customer friendly, I felt like a burden to them more than anything. I came in around 9 tonight for some soup to go, and come home with my order to find hair in my chicken noodle soup. I’ve never had such a terrible experience at a panera. Never coming to this location again!

Unlike most other Paneras I have been to, this location lacked the warm and fuzzy atmosphere. The food was fine and the service was quick, but again, it had to be quick because I was the only one in the restaurant. The Wi-Fi was f*%ked up. Panera is general is becoming too expensive for the amount of food you get. Call me Miss Piggy if you want, but I have been leaving there still hungry(see my photo).

Great little location in a rather big plaza. I haven’t had any issues with food here and the quality is just as expected. We usually grab and go from this spot so I don’t have a feeling about how the inside is to dine. The new fontina grilled cheese isn’t much a filler so add chicken or veggies or grab an extra half salad to go along with it. It tasted great, but it left me wanting something more to eat.

Newington, CT location is slower than frozen molasses, it has horrible service that detracts form the great Panera brand and it’s other very efficient locations

No different here than at your other Panera establishments except maybe for parking which is a bit limited though you can use Walmart’s lot. Here, and like at most other Panera’s I’ve been too, it’s always crowded and the queue is always long especially during lunch time and can sometimes go out the front door. Point to note, if you want your order/sandwich heated and return to the counter with it, they cannot take it from you and reheat it according to health laws as they said. Instead they will wrap your sandwich to go and give you a new sandwich, this time heated!
