Nichole has been cutting and highlighting my hair for over 10 years now! I have only been very pleased with the results! I get so many compliments on my hair after Nichole takes care of it! I highly recommend Envy Hair Salon in Newington!

Envy Hair Salon is fantastic. I had been looking for someone to be able to color my hair the way I wanted for a long time. I would bring in pictures of what I wanted and the previous 3 places I went said oh yes no problem. But I never got what I wanted. A friend sent me a picture of a coworker of theirs and I said yes!!! That’s what I want! She told me where and I made my appointment with Nicole and couldn’t be any happier!

Good service by Deb she’s very open and she care about her client … However the owner have a horrible attitude. I didn’t feel welcome at all she was looking at me up and down the whole time!

Fabulous salon! I have been looking for the right salon, MY salon since we moved to CT 12 years ago. I’d get great colors but the cut was never right. Or vice versa. To be honest, I did find one place a long long time ago but it was way down the other side of CT, was very expensive and very far away. My local guy is good, quite good even but I NEVER get the cut I want. I get the cut I think he thinks I want. And he’s very good so it’s always a good cut. But it’s not THE cut.
Well, this time, I finally got lucky — I picked up a GROUPON a few months back and needing a cut/​color for spring, I finally went in.
To me — this salon is FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY! Okay, four and a half if you want a salon that has the look like it’s going to cost you over a hundred bucks to get a cut. Admittedly this salon doesn’t have that look. It actually looks to me, like salons I’ve been going to all my life — salons where work gets DONE. No waterfalls, less with the fancyshmancy and more with the real ambiance. To me that’s what counts: having super competent professionals and feeling comfortable sitting among human beings.
My hairdresser:
Leslie is an artist with no exaggeration — she does a fabulous job coloring and she can cut with the best of them (plus she’s just the most upbeat and pleasant person to spend time with). I wanted my hair textured. I always ask hairdressers to get in there and make it shaggier. But they never quite get it. They think I can’t tell what they’re doing but I know how to cut hair myself. They’re ready to layer, but razors? no, they don’t like using the razors. WELL LESLIE CAN! (you go!) (and neener neener to the rest of you!) (I heart this girl. She’s got her act together)
She listened to me, asked questions, understood what I wanted and for the first time in a long time, I actually left a hair salon with *exactly* the color and cut I asked for. I look snazzy.
It was a lot of fun sitting in a chair where everyone is so friendly, chatting… it’s like you walk in the door and you’re home.
My cut and color are knockout! So happy to have found my hair dresser and my salon. LOVE IT.

Nicole always does our hair and she is excellent. Everyone in the salon is very friendly, always smiling, and very talkative.
We have tried a few different salons with no success. The prices at Envy are excellent and we get great service and awesome haircuts and color!
We recommend Envy Salon to everyone we know because we have never had better service anywhere!

I don’t care if Groupon sends you credit or a promo code or you have some sort of coupon for this salon; DON’T GO! There’s even a Unilocal deal for this place, DON’T BUY IT!
I went here for a 60 minute massage that I purchased via Groupon. I went on their Facebook page and it looked like a legit business and the massage room looked beautiful. I called the salon to book my appointment and then I got a text that it was a Swedish massage with a guy named Thomas. I informed them that I had a Groupon. Well on their website, it mentioned that the massage therapist was a lady named Kristin. I’m gender neutral with my massages, but some people are more comfortable with one gender. Since you take off your clothes for a massage, I believe that places should let clients know who is going to massage you. I should have asked.
My appointment was 5:30 on a Friday evening. I walked in five minutes late because I got out of work late. The place was actually very hard to find because their sign was tiny. When I walked in, I was actually appalled to see how messy and outdated it was. It looked like a bedroom of a messy teeny bopper. My massage therapist was late. While I waited for him, I used the bathroom and it was the smallest bathroom ever; I have been on airplanes with bigger bathrooms.
So Thomas walked and greeted me. He seemed like a very nice gentlman and walked me upstairs to the massage room. To my disbelief, it was messy and gross and it was nothing like the photo they showed on Facebook (
). Honestly, if I didn’t have that stupid Groupon, I would have left. I wanted to give the place the benefit of the doubt…
Thomas started to massage me, I guess around 5:45. He did asked where I wanted to be massaged and I told him my shoulders and triggers points. He was very intuitive and knew where my tightness was. Sometimes during the massage, he sniffled. I hope he didn’t have a cold and it was just allergies because I did not want to get sick. At times, I smelled wiffs of cigarettes, but I was not sure the source of the stench.
When my massage was over, I looked at my phone and it said 6:30. Umm… I didn’t receive my massage until after 5:40. So basically, the guy chips me 10 minutes. As a consequence, I took gave him five dollars less in tip than I had originally planned. From my past professional massages at different spas, a massage therapist gives the client a glass of water to cleanse the toxins. I wasn’t given one.
Another thing that bothered me was redeeming the Groupon deal. Leslie, who handled my booking, wrote down my Groupon code so I did not have to bring it. When I was leaving, a different receptionist asked for it. Since I have Groupon accounts under three different e-​mails, I did not remember which one. Luckily receptionist looked further and told me I was upset. If she did not find it and I was unable to find mine, I would have been in trouble.
Thank goodness I did not pay full price, but even at $ 27, I still felt that I paid too much.
Tabitha Coffey would have a field day with this salon!

I almost need to go somewhere and get my hair fixed. I have curly hair which is admittedly tricky to cut, but beyond that, the stylist didn’t do basic things that I kept having to ask them to go back and do (trimming neck line, clipping random groups of hair, cleaning around ears and side burns, etc — those are all things that the stylist should ask you how you like them done and you should not need to tell them that they need to be done)
When the hairline on the back of my neck was clippered, they almost cut a line in the back of my neck!!! Was there until the next day.

I purchased a groupon for a haircut and went with Leslie. She is awesome! I’ll give only 4 stars just because the salons wasn’t so nice inside and the towels were broken and out washed, but the service is great! I’ll def. go back there for my haircuts :) thank you Leslie!

I regularly go to Envy Salon for the spa massage. Kristin is pretty good, on your first visit it’s half off the price. They always have promotionals such as Groupon, Living Social and Unilocal so the price becomes affordable.

Despite my previous concern with scheduling, the facial was perfection. Margret Osterbery was fantastic! She is talented, kind, and friendly and made my appointment an amazing experience. She was meant to do this work. I left feeling like a million bucks and my skin never felt better.

Used a living social voucher for an airbrush tan at Envy recently. Leslie was great and the airbrush tan was flawless. Great service — thanks!

I just saw Daniela and she is the best hairdresser I have ever had! She is very caring, honest and did an absolutely beautiful job on my hair! I have finally found a great place to go to!
