I went in for breakfast with my boyfriend today. Loved it. Pancakes, bacon and eggs for me. Eggs with Chorizo for my man. Totally authentic taste. Chips and salsa were on point. Will be going back.

Good food. Their flautas are made with corn tortillas which actually makes them taquitos though. And the reciept was stupid as hell. Every item said«breakfast»

A solid 4. Just finished having a Sunday brunch after meaning to eat here for quite some time. In conclusion this place gets no love and it deserves it. Nothing fancy. Just great and friendly customer service and a HOMEMADE Mexican meal. I ended up getting my usually chilisquiles con huevos whith ride and beans. My lady got the huevos rancheros which I was jealous of. The food good and not offending. So come in here sometime and watch while locals wait they’re 30’minutes for an omelette at egg plantation.

Was looking for a breakfast burrito and this place custom made one for me. Oh, and pan dulce to go. Score.

I stopped here to try it out because I heard there are new owners. I tried the chicken tamale, pork tamale and a carne asada taco. Each was delicious. Then I finished my night with a pudding cake that hit the spot. Great place to frequent.

The food is so flavorful. My family is 100% satisfied with our food and drinks. The service was excellent too! We’re just passing through town but I’ll remember to stop by when we’re in town for Magic Mountain.

Every meal at El Pueblo has left me ever so satisfied! The chilaquiles are AMAZING! #22 with chorizo, avocado, cilantro, radish, crema and cheese cannot be surpassed! Be sure to wash it down with a Bloody Mary… The refried beans are creamy. The salsa has a nice blended consistency and is muy picoso. I branched out yesterday and found the wet chicken burrito with green sauce equally delicious.

We came here bc of the long wait at egg plantation. Place was empty when we walked in and it made me wonder if they had other customers today. There was one waitress but she kept forgetting things and didnt bring things out as she would say she would. My friend ordered a chilaquiles with chorizo. He said there were too many nachos strips, not enough meat and avocado. Somebody else found hair in their dish. And as this friend said, he thought the water was the best thing from that place. I am giving this place three stars bc I liked my chicken tamales even though they were $ 3 a piece a la carte — way overpriced in my opinion. I wished we went to egg plantation instead.

How is this place in business? Low quality food. Extra $ 5 for 3 drops of steak on the«shrimpachiles» that comes with 4 shrimp. Stephanie was great but never coming back :/

I stopped in for lunch because I was intrigued by the sign that read«authentic Mexican food». The place was completely empty and we had to summon a waiter by ringing a bell, which didn’t give me a great first impression. I ordered a carne asada burrito that was 75% rice and very little carne asada. There were so many raw onions in the burrito, and while I love onion, they completely overpowered the taste all together. It seemed to me that the food lacked a fresh taste, rather more like something that had been thrown in the microwave and reheated. While it’s not the worst Mexican food that I’ve had, it’s far from the best. To be fair, Newhall isn’t the place where I’d expect to find that anyway.

Food is ok but the service is horrible. For the record, I went over the weekend and was later told that the service was different during the week. Also, they advertise a full menu but they lack availability.

My boyfriend and I are new to Santa Clarita, and turned to Unilocal to look for some recommendations. El Pueblo has a pretty good rating, so, we gave it a shot. We went in for lunch around 2 p.m., and when we entered, the place looked closed. There were no customers, it was dark, and there was no sound or music. Within about ten seconds, we were greeted by a woman who told us we could sit anywhere. Our server, Edgar, took our order, but when I asked what kinds of beans they had to offer(pinto or black) he answered«refried.» Thinking this was my only option, I went with it. Chips and salsa hit the table shortly after, but the salsa tasted more like molè. The chips were cold and unseasoned. When I asked if they had a mild salsa, he said that they did, but it was the medium that they always served. I then asked if the mild was pico de gallo. He said it wasn’t ‘t, and that it consisted of the usual: tomato, onion, and cilantro. We said we would like to try their mild instead, but when he brought it to the table in a tiny sampler cup, it was pico de gallo, and he said he would have to charge us for the bigger size. Maybe he misunderstood. We sat pretty close to the kitchen, and I hope I’m mistaken, but I swear that I heard a microwave go off. When our food arrived, I asked Edgar if they had ginger ale, but he had no idea, and had to ask. I blame the lack of training he was equipped with, most likely. I ordered two cheese enchiladas with red sauce, no sour cream, and my boyfriend ordered the chicken bowl, no sour cream. We both cleared our plates, but I was surprised by the serving size and contents of the chicken bowl. You can get a bigger serving plus pico de gallo and cheese for less money at Chipotle(around $ 8), but we paid $ 10.25. Felt a little steep. Also, the bowl came with pinto beans. an option I had just been told didn’t exist. While conversing with our server, Edgar mentioned that El Pueblo closes at three, and doesn’t do dinner. Really? A restaurant pushing cocktails and Bloody Mary’s on each table doesn’t open up their doors for dinner? We were also told that they get the overflow clientele from the restaurant across the street, The Egg Plantation, when it’s busy there and customers don’t want to wait. From what my boyfriend and I experienced that day, we think El Pueblo could rise and do just fine on their own if they would open their doors for dinner, make sure the chips and salsa are the FIRST thing to hit the table, and concoct a new version of their salsa with fresh, local ingredients. People go out not only to avoid messing the kitchen and a pile of dishes, but also for the quality of the food and the dining environment. El Pueblo could use a little work in both, but for the most part, we left happy.

The best Chilaquiles in all Santa Clarita! And you can believe me because I’m really critical about Mexican food because I am Mexican and my mother owned 2 Mexican Restaurants in Los Angeles(LOL).El Pueblo offers delicious traditional Mexican dishes, including Huevos Rancheros, Huevos a-la-Mexicana, an ample selection of Chilaquiles dishes(their specialty dish), Mexican –Style omelets, and breakfast burritos. All their food is fresh, presented beautiful on the plate, and very delicious. My husband and I have referred all our family & friends here, and everyone we’ve referred has been pleased with both their awesome food & great service. Let’s talk about the service, this is a family run restaurant and they are the sweetest people you could ever meet. Maria and her kids are very wonderful people and they always provide excellent service to all their customers! I love the fact that the last 2 times that we ate here, they brought out my daughter’s bacon & eggs even before we placed our order. The owner remembers that my daughter always orders bacon & eggs so he begins preparing it the minute we walk in. Now that’s what I call EXCELLENT customer service!!! So to all the people across the street who are waiting in these huge lines with long wait times, walk across the street to El Pueblo and get ready to enjoy some real good authentic Mexican food! I promise you will not be disappointed! El Pueblo(Casa de Chilaquiles) should be everybody’s destination for great Mexican food in Santa Clarita!!!

We originally planned on going to Egg Plantation across the street but decided last minute to come here and i’m so glad we did. Casa de Chilaquiles!!! The owner recommended #22, Chilaquiles with chorizo, eggs over easy, and green sauce. The presentation and flavors were amazing! The owner was really nice and pleasant to talk to. We purchased the $ 10 for $ 20 deal on Unilocal which made it even more worth it. I don’t live close by, but whenever i’m in town, I plan on coming back! If you’ve never been here, IT’S A MUSTTRY!!!

On Mother’s Day, we came here based on the Unilocal reviews I’d read. As others have mentioned, the place across the street was packed, with huge lines and long waits, and at El Pueblo, we walked right in. We tried the chilaquiles with shrimp, shrimp omelet, and huevos rancheros. All were well prepared, fresh, traditional and tasty.(My only complaint is the veggie side dishes, which seemed prepared from frozen veggies.) El Pueblo is also a bakery, and we bought half a dozen pastries to take with us. Absolutely delicious, as was the bread that came with our meal. Breakfast for three, with tip and pastries, came to about $ 50. Highly recommended, and my new go-to place for both breakfast and casual Mexican food in the area.

I have tried a lot of Mexican dishes, even down in Mexico, but never tried chilaquiles before. Food Chilaquiles — It’s tortilla strips with some vegetables and two eggs with green or red sauce on top. Tortilla strips can get soggy real fast, but it was still very good. I usually prefer the red sauce over the green sauce, but at this place mild green sauce tasted much better than the red one. We ordered chicken chilaquiles with eggs in red sauce, and cactus chilaquiles with eggs in green sauce. Cactus chilquiles with eggs was so good(still don’t like the cactus, but the rest of the dish was very tasty). On any chilaquiles dish, if it doesn’t say that it comes with eggs, I recommend you add eggs for $ 1.99, it’s really good. Just like most other Mexican places, you get chips and red salsa. We asked for green salsa because red was good, but a little spicy. Green salsa was the same green sauce that’s in Chilaquiles, but for some reason the one in Chilaquiles dish tasted much better. Customer Service They were quite accommodating with the choices and selections. Will go back there to get chilaquiles again.

After a freezing fun run, nine of us decided to find a local place to eat in town. We originally tried to get into Egg Plantation across the street, but the wait for nine people was 1 ½ hours. We looked around and say El Pueblo directly across the street. We all looked at each other and said, «let’s give them a try!» I ordered Huevos Rancheros — delicious! A few others ordered different variations of their chilaquiles(which is what they’re known for). Everyone walked away with their tummy’s full and a smile. Overall, the food was delicious and the service excellent. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll definitely stop by!

Had a lovely breakfast here during our visit to Valencia. The décor is very charming, and there is parking right out in front. This little place is right across from Egg Plantation, which is why we noticed it(as we stood in line for 30 minutes the previous day). Great service, hot, freshly cooked food. The menu is more traditional Mexican then most, which was a great treat.

The business card says that they were established in 1987 but they have not a single review? Hmm. The owner’s Dad explained that the previous owner had some personal issues that kept the place closed a lot. But now there’s new owners and new energy right? Well maybe. The tamale I got was fine but forgettable. The location’s not the greatest. I have never seen a single other customer inside of this place. They bill themselves as a panaderia but the selection of pan dulce was pretty meager. There are five other, more well know Mexican places within walking distance. …And they’re across the street from Newhall’s most beloved breakfast place, the Egg Plantation. The interior of this place is beautiful and I want to wish them well but I’m not very optimistic. Hey, when you go bankrupt can I buy the decorations?!
