Sal’s Pizza

Sals is just great pizza– big slices, quality toppings, always fresh-​tasting, cooked right. The guys who work at the newburyport location are great, too– always friendly and upbeat. Among lots of pizza places, Sal’s is a consistent favorite.

Awesome pizza and great service. This is one pizza place that grounds up meatballs by hand and puts them all over the pizza. Way better then small balls of crap like other pizzas places.

I was next door at Marshall’s and hadn’t eaten breakfast yet when I got the munchies and passed by for a slice.
The slices of pizza are about a quarter of the size of a large pizza pie so pretty decent. The price for a slice is about $ 4 which is a bit much but your practically getting two slices so it’s understandable. Pizza was reheated and super hot, not greasy with a crispy outer shell that snapped on my first bite and extra cheesy with not a lot of sauce.
Place was clean with plenty of seats (booths) to sit in, flat screen tv an really nice décor. It looked like it had recently been renovated and modernized which is good. The tv wasn’t too loud and neither was the radio station playing on speakers above which tuned to the classic rock station and was playing Stairway to Heaven as I walked in.
Bathroom was also clean and maintained.
There was only one guy in the back of the counter but he was really friendly, courteous and said thank you as I walked out which was a nice gesture and showed he had manners which in this day and age is rare. He also brought my slices to the table when they were finished heating up.
Overall it was a great experience.
