Lovely Nails

5 stars because Ivonne is amazing and does an excellent job with my pedicures and manicures. Also she is great with eye brows!

I have never personally been to this place but a friend just posted on Facebook with her experience and I thought I should share. She not only got cut multiple times on her cuticles but they FORCED her to cut her acrylic nails shorter and they look like an animal chew them off. They not only gave horrible service, but then proceeded to FORCE them pay for it. I could not believe it when i heard this and saw the pictures– I was horrified.

I have gone to Lovely Nails for pedicures for about 8 years. For the most part I have had mostly positive experiences here, my nails looked good and lasted so long! The business changed hands this past year and frankly I won’t be going back. I have been four times since the ownership change and the extreme «up selling» is beyond annoying. And it gets more aggressive each time I go. Also they change what they include with each category of pedi every time you go so you do not know what you are getting.
As I said, I will not be going back.

I’ve been here many times an only because it’s close to my moms. By far the worst mani/​pedis I’ve ever paid for. They rush through and have no attention to detail. I’m bummed I have another gift certificate to this place or I’d never go back. I posted two pics that credit my discontent.

If I wanted an uneven, gummy pedicure that I had to touch up/​redo half of that very same day, I would have saved myself the time and $$ and stayed home where at least I won’t be treated rudely and pressured to buy extra stuff. I don’t get my nails done often, and I’ve had decent experiences here in the past, so maybe it was just this particular technician. Also fair warning: there’s been a change in management in the last year or so, and so they will not honor gift cards purchased before then: «We’re sorry, we can’t accept that. You should have told us before the service.» That sounds fair, but I did say I had a gift card, twice, when I called to make the appointment, and there was no mention of a problem until after I was done and made to pay for a truly crappy job. The second star is for a clean facility and benefit of the doubt, but even that is pushing it.

Awful. Didn’t talk to me. Never smiled. Horrible nails. Made me feel stupid for not saying their correct lingo for what I wanted to do. Painted over my nails when I got home. Never again.

I have been going to my old salon in Tualatin for the last 2 years since moving to Newberg for well done and affordable shellac pedicures. The commute every six weeks was getting to be inconvenient. I tried another salon in Newberg and it was not to my liking– enter Lovely Nails. I went in a few minutes before opening on a Friday and was quickly seated in a pedicure chair.
The salon is larger than it looks from the outside, there are 8 pedi chairs and a dozen mani tables. The salon could use a good cleaning and is a little dated, but in line with similar salons.
Tu was super friendly and gave a great pedi, I opted to get a mani also, everything still looks good 5 days later. The total was $ 42.
I’ll be back.

I had a great experience here :) it’s obviously not like a nail salon in the pearl but I thought they were great! I had acrylics done for a special occasion with a French tip. They were very kind, quick and did a good job as my nails look fabulous! The only downside was that the salon does have that nail polish smell but it wasn’t bad enough to keep me from going back! They even sold me some of the cuticle oil that I fell in love with, even though they don’t typically sell it! I thought that for the price I for more than what I paid for! I would definitely recommend going here and I am actually going back today! :)

1. The owner Tammy is very unprofessional and rude!
2. They push your little kids into a $ 10 paint job that last for an hour!
3. I have had them literally pull my real nail off trying to pull of a fake nail!
4. If they are busy, the service you are paying for is completed faster than normal and the quality is not as good.
5. Very dirty stations!
6. They get all bent out of shape if you have a partcular person you want to use.
I too want to like this place, but overall it sucks. I continue to go there and only use 1 person, because she is the only one that does my nails to where they actually stay on, not too think and she takes her time!
I get my pedicures in Sherwood. They really are more relaxing and the way they do their parafin wax treatment is amazing.

My favorite place to go for a pedicure and manicure with friends. They always have more than one massage chair available, and they can do floral designs on your toes if you like. Careful with the shellac on your nails. It is addictive once you start.

I want to like this place more. The girl at #3 is fantastic at manicures, but the others I have been to there have not really done what I wanted even when I explained it very clearly.
