This little café was charming and the local students are lucky to have such a cute study spot. I’d likely be a regular here if I lived in town. The café has a sizable seating area with a large assortment of books for sale. My berry smoothie had marionberries, blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, yogurt, orange juice, and banana. It was well balanced between tangy/sour and sweet. My blueberry cream cheese scone was full of pleasantly tart berries and actual chunks of cream cheese. Their hot tea selection was well curated with various flavors represented. I don’t think they had looseleaf tea, which I would’ve preferred, but I wasn’t disappointed by the options. I also enjoyed the stack of coloring book pages, both for children and adults, and the available colored pencils. I recently read that coloring is an effective way for adults to mitigate stress so I’ll probably go and color some pages there soon! :)

I rarely write lukewarm reviews. It’s either I am happy about something, or the opposite. This is another positive. The regular brewed coffee is probably the drink with the least expectations, but this one just surprised me from the aroma, to the first sip, up to the finish. Without any adulterations, it tastes of soy and molasses. I congratulate the roaster! The Aloha Chicken sandwich was yummy, too, but it was the gherkin that I really loved. I just don’t know if they are store bought. I wish their potato chips were made in the premises instead of Tim’s. Place is very authentic, with no barista snobbery going on. Books for days and just the right amount of heating and music.

In a one-block radius, there are three coffee shops. The cottage, though, continues to prove to be the top spot. The baristas will genuinely ask about your day while making your order which, to me, is their tipping point for the top spot for coffee in Newberg. They roast their own beans, the breakfast burritos are stellar and my wife and I will occasionally bring a board game to play because that’s how chill the cottage is. It’s also a great spot to do homework. From quick your coffee needs to a take your time and enjoy the experience, The Coffee Cottage is the best place to drink coffee in Newberg!

Great find in Newberg with friendly staff, charming ambiance, and tasteful Saturday brunch breakfast. The peach and cinnamon scone, and apple cider oatmeal were delicious. For an out-if-towner visiting for a romantic get-a-way weekend, I would definitely come back when in town.

Staying at the Alison Inn but wanted something more casual for breakfast. Found this cozy little cottage and couldn’t be more pleased. Weekend brunch selections are excellent(try the apple cider oatmeal!) and they have a great tea selection, which is rare for a coffee shop. The service was cheerful and helpful and the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be back whenever I’m in Newberg.

This is a lovely coffee-date place that I’ve been going to since I was a teenager. Since then(1993) it has expanded to include a drive-thru, and it’s only become more awesome. I took my kids through the drive-thru for a quick fly by last weekend and we were really impressed. The service was genuinely kind, they were willing to make adjustments to fit their needs(you can order drinks at Kids Temperature), and they had a couple bagels left that saved the day. I’m glad to support a local coffee house that has been supporting the community and its people for many years now.

A landmark coffee shop in Newberg. The only downside is that the food is a bit overpriced. I’ve been drinking Cottage Blend since middle school.

We stopped by here after wine tasting at a couple of places. My friends wanted coffee! I had a decaf latte with coconut milk and it was yummy! I also had some pretty yummy quiche! I liked the place and would definitely go back again!

Been coming to the Cottage with the Mayfield Clan for YEARS — there are so many pictures of our family gatherings at this cozy place. It’s always so warm and inviting and the baristas are very attentive. When I come for breakfast, I can never decide between having a slice of quiche or a scone(’cause the Snowdrift and Marionberry are my FAVES). The coffee is always delicious — I like to indulge in the real caramel sauce… Though the hurried should know there is always a wait, but lemme tell you — it’s worth it!

Warm and comfortable atmosphere, friendly baristas. The décor itself was interesting enough to merit sitting for a while to look at it all. The outside seating options were nice also. I ordered a gingerbread spice latte, which the barista cheerfully prepared for me with almond milk(when I asked what non-dairy options were available, she listed off quite a few, including soy milk and hemp milk). I also appreciated that the barista checked the syrup and flavor bottles to make sure I was safe from allergens, without me even asking. The latte was just right, and definitely not too sweet. They get a thumbs up from me! I’ll be back next time I’m in Newberg.

I had an affogato and was not disappointed. Also noticed they had more adventurous drinks than many coffee shops. My group got 5 different kinds of espressos/beverages, and no one was disappointed with their drink or the chocolate espresso beans :) Staff was nice, friendly, and helpful. Location was a plus as well; being nearby several book stores, boutiques, and thrift stores.

Best coffee place in Newberg. Staff is super friendly, food and drinks are great. Owners are brilliant. I feel Newberg can do with WAAAAY less coffee places — especially as long as we have this one. I’ve lived in Newberg my entire life, and still think this place is the best.

Had a tasty shot of espresso. They roast their own coffee. Great study space. Not sure about wifi speed. The drip coffee was only lukewarm which was a bummer. I would recommend this as a local study location.

I have been going to the Coffee Cottage for years! Everything they serve is yummy, especially their scone! They have just in the last week or so done some much needed redecorating with great new lighting. What a big welcomed change! You will be happy you stop by!

They should change their name to «Food Cottage» or «Yumminess Cottage» b/c it’s the tasty goodies that should be presented with a badge of honor, not the coffee. Yes, they make they own coffee right next door but it’s 2nd place to Chapters in town but #1 for bakery goodies. You go in thinking, «Oh, I’ll just have tea» but then end up drooling over their warm fresh in-store baked locally sourced goodies sitting on their counter pleading with you to adopt them… into your stomach. Then you sit outside(lovely patio with a cover in case of fickle Oregon rain or grassy side) and enjoy people-watching. By this time(2 – 3 hrs later) you need some another goody and one to-go. Seriously. I know. Pros: — Did I mention the baked goods yet? Did you forget? They also have sandwiches, quiches, weekend brunches — these are a bit spendy but it is quite awesome — Yerba-mate tea: Oh my goodness. I’ve tried to get this other places and they don’t know how to make it right. I was introduced to it at Coffee Cottage and it’s my go-to drink here. Have them steep it in soymilk and honey. It’s nutty, healthy, and so good. — Independently owned local shop — love that! They were the 1st coffee shop in Newberg way back in the day. — Drive-thru window is next door and convenient(closes earlier than the main part) — Conference room is free to rent with paid drinks(in the drive-through house) — Free wifi — Friendly staff — super nice and some of them have become my friends — Ask for a punch card so that you can eventually get a free drink — Seating indoors is in a converted house, super cute Cons: — Coffee is strong and bitter(I’m a foo foo coffee drinker, so what do I know) — A bit dark indoors but the seating is away from the coffee machines so it’s not as noisy Newberg has a few sit-down coffee shops but they all have a different twist to make each unique. Check them out and decide what you like!
