Sunset Tans

I love going to sunset tans! The owner and staff are all so friendly yet professional. They always recommend new lotions that they think would work for my skin tone. The salon is modern, welcoming and immaculate. The tanning rooms are always freshly cleaned, very private and what I love the most is that the machines are always warmed up and there’s never any light bulbs out!
I’ve never gotten my hair done here (I’m a hair colorist) but while waiting I observed a girl getting her hair colored. The technique used was modern, the color line is top notch and the products are good. I would definitely pop in if I couldn’t touch up my own roots.
It’s great to see a business like this in the ironbound. I’ve been to mannnnnny tanning salons and hair salons and sunset tans is a true gem. I would recommend them to anyone who asks and wish the business nothing but great success.

The location has a FANTASTIC hair stylist/​dresser on deck ! Can I just say — she gives me LIFE! I’ve been highlighting and coloring my hair for 10+ years by 3 different people. The technique and chemicals destroyed my hair to the point where I had to stop or I was going to be left with no hair. So, I chopped my hair to a bob to allow my hair to get healthy and cut off as much of the damage as I could. When I was finally ready I had my hair colored dark by a great hair dresser. However, the color just seemed to get darker and darker EVERYTIME and wasn’t something I was really into so I knew it was time for a change. It also felt like my hair had not grown an inch in ages!
So here I was with dark short hair and unhappy! That was the case until I finally found Stephanie at Sunset Tans and she came to save my life !
Stephanie, the hair dresser at Sunset: I’ve heard beautiful things about. So I said, why not give it a shot. The result: she is still my current hairdresser after almost a year AND will continue to be until she decides to get rid of me ! My hair is lighter, healthier and it is FINALLY growing !!! Seriously — I don’t know why I was so afraid to try her out but I now recommend her to everyone !
Athe products they use are of quality and you can definitely feely the difference !!

The makeup and facials/​massages at this place are also AMAZING! I’ve gotten 2 facials already by Jenn and my skin immediately feels and looks impeccable ! Her technique is awesome she has you coming out of there feeling like a million bucks! She also discusses proper technique and products for your skin type and provides knowledge you can’t find elsewhere !

As you can see, this place is my go to for a lot of beauty needs ! Its comfortable, clean, the customer service is outstanding and there is parking !! Everything a girl or guy needs in one establishment !! Wishing them all the success in the world! They rock !

Love this place! I came in last week for the first time & my make up artist did an AMAZING JOB! Defitnetly coming back anytime I need my make up done professionally. The staff were very pleasant & made me feel very comfortable. Loved it!

Found Sunset tan on Unilocal,but no published review’s available. Called ahead for prices and to see if appointment was necessary. Friendly girl on the phone provided all the information I needed and I headed on down.
Was buzzed in off the street and walked into a very nice and clean tanning salon. Met the girl from the phone call (very hot).lol and she went over all the pertinent information. I ended up in a stand up model which appeared to be new, actually everything in the place looked like new units.
When finished I realized I hadn’t checked in and proceeded to do so and was greeted by a friendly welcome 10% off. I show the girl at the desk who called the owner who long story short did not honor it.
It would have been a pleasant ending to a good experience but won’t be a deal breaker for me.
Normal pricing and cleanliness I’ll take!
