I watched my prime rib slide out of a bag and the ingredients to my wife’s $ 16 dollar chicken entrée slide out of bags. Service staff was inattentive and for food that’s coming out of bags it took forever to get it. I watched it be finished and sit for another 5 minutes before it was brought to us. JB Dawson’s is a way better choice.

I love going to Nordstrom just so I have an excuse to eat here! The white cheddar, chicken, and apple salad is amazing and so is their roast beef sandwich. SO GOOD. There is never a wait here and staff is always friendly. Very clean– overall an enjoyable dining experience.

Love this place! My friends and I used to go here for our own private happy hour after work. Very decently priced and the food always tastes great. It also has a pretty good wine selection and a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately it’s all the way at the mall so I haven’t been able to go recently, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

Delicious! We were all trying to avoid the crazy Christmas shopping crowds and 6^th and pine is much calmer than the other eating areas in Christians mall. We had a very nice waitress that accommodated us well especially being with a young child. My Caesar salad was perfect. Just the right amount of dressing. Incredibly fresh. Juicy chicken. A clever Parmesan crisp. Everyone at the table cleaned their plates and with my family that rarely happens because we’re all so picky. When we come back to Delaware next time I’m definitely gonna eat here.

Went here for brunch. Ended up ordering a sandwich — turkey and avocado sandwich. which was one of the best turkey sandwiches I have had. Also had the tomato soup on the side which was more on the tart side … Overall great spot, but I did feel like the menu needed some more variety.

Generally decent food, but service that makes it not worth the wait. Four of us plus a toddler came for lunch. The hostess was friendly but told us there would be a 30 minute wait even though we were first on the list and a large table was available. She had to «check with somebody» if she could put a high chair at a six seat table, which required moving a portable chair. Problem solved. The server was fine at first but then disappeared. No water refills, no check-​ins, and no food for 30+ minutes and then it came out in three separate batches a few minutes apart. Awkward. The menu is not extensive and it was not jammed, so this all felt unnecessary. When the food arrived, it was fine: the turkey chili was tasty, BLT and sweet potato fries were as well, but the hanger steak was quite overcooked and would have been sent back if we thought it would return before the next millennium. All in all, this was a Nordstrom’s service «fail» and a poor choice if you have a child or expect to eat and run.

Best kept Secret in the tri-​state area. Food is absolutely delicious. Service is impeccable and the staff is so courteous.

This place is tucked in the corner on the second floor of Nordstrom’s. If it was easier to find — or near the Food Court — it would be packed. Thankfully, it is not and it was not. We were seated immediately and were served quickly. The food is better than anything in or around the mall.

Start with the sweet potato fries! The chefs accommodated two members of my family’s special food requests. The food was yummy. The service is always great. They serve beer and wine, too — bonus for the drinker.

Awesome place to grab lunch with friends. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is quite. The French dip is amazing.

As a family with food allergies, it can be very difficult to dine and have accommodations made for us. I went with my husband for lunch to test the waters, and I was so impressed by the manager, service, and food that I returned with my kids a few weeks later. The staff was friendly, and the manager was helpful and knowledgeable. She gave us recommendations and double checked all ingredients. It is challenging to avoid dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, and soy, but the manager and chefs were able to accommodate and serve us a delicious allergy friendly meal. My family was able to safely dine and eat quality food together, and I am so grateful for a restaurant that is welcoming and so accommodating to those with food allergies.

This place is for the hoity-​toity of mall shoppers that see the food court and say «pish-​posh.» We went in for lunch after a pick-​up at the Wilmington airport, foregoing our intended destination of Panera because none of us had actually been to a Sixth and Pine, despite loving Nordstrom.
I wouldn’t say the food was any better than Panera’s and substantially more expensive. Of course it is a sit-​down service place and if that’s worth the few extra bucks to you, you might enjoy 6andP. Otherwise, you’re way better off lunching at the more affordable Panera next door.

Once upon a time, malls had no food courts. One would have to eat «off-​campus» before or after shopping, as shopping and dining out each were events to be savored and not just ways to pass time or refuel.
The one exception came courtesy of large department stores. In New Orleans, for example, the D.H. Holmes cafeteria (the same store immortalized in «A Confederacy of Dunces») was a welcome treat when Mom had to take us downtown to buy clothes for a special occasion.
What a pleasant surprise to find that such places still exist, beckoning from a discreet entrance somewhere between «Ladies» and «Bedding».
Service at Sixth & Pine was prompt, professional, and helpful. There was no kids menu (maybe there was, but nothing my particular six year old would eat.) She wanted a burger. I ordered one with everything on the side, since I knew I would be eating at least part of it, and that’s how it arrived. I chose a salad for myself. Extra plates, cutlery, and crayons were all there when we needed them.
The Caesar Salad and burger were both excellent. The burger was moist, cooked exactly as ordered (medium-​rare, in our case), and served on a better-​than-​average bun. Medium-​rare was a gamble, I knew, as a first-​graders generally won’t touch anything approaching full rare. The kitchen nailed it: cooked enough for her, rare enough for me.
The Caesar was crisp, tart, generously sized, and tasted of real anchovy.
Both dad and daughter had a great meal, face to face, just as the fictional Ignatius Reilly did with his mom all those years ago at the very real and now missed Holmes (here, feel free to insert your regional novel with its own long lost regional downtown department store).
The price per person here is going to be higher than eating in the food court, but sometimes it’s worth it. Food courts press cuisines against one another, tossing diners together like chicken and peas on a plate. The food court’s broad selection was a boon for groups where one wants Chinese, another McDonalds, and a third pizza. But the resulting mishmash spread of chopsticks and Happy Meals and triangular cardboard boxes diminishes the overall experience of seeking out a specific cuisine and enjoying it.
Sixth & Pine’s name and décor evokes an urbane diner on a downtown corner somewhere (presumably at the intersection of Sixth and Pine streets). It does that reasonably well, but for some of us older types, the atmosphere prompts memories of shopping that did not include «greeters» or bulls-​eyes or blue lights, but rather dressing up to go shopping and sitting down to real meal with our moms (for in those days, only moms shopped).
One eats at a food court; here, one dines. Once in a while it’s good to travel back in time to a bygone era and have a proper meal in a proper place.

Their salads are great. Almost everything else — burgers, french fries, roast chicken, sandwiches are also very good. Our only bad experience has been the fish and chips. We love fried fish — so not fat phobic — but this had a heavy, thick batter that was soaked in oil. Awful. But, it’s still one of my favorite lunch places in the area. I’m only giving 3 stars right now because it was great every single visit (maybe 15 times) until about 6 months ago. Now it seems to fluctuate. Salads are still good — but I’m not so impressed with the other items any more.
But… Anybody in this area knows we’re in a culinary desert — so still a very solid choice for lunch.

With all the great reviews on Unilocal and friend recommends, we decided to give this a try with our teen-​aged daughters. Everyone was very happy! Our girls were happy to split their acclaimed fish and chips — 3 nice-​sized pieces of fish with an awesome crunchy coating made even better by the aoili and malt vinegar. My husband enjoyed the special chicken and pasta dish — his only complaint was the portion was a little small for him. I had the broiled salmon and spinach salad with the Parmesan crisps, bacon and vinaigrette dressing — to die for! Everything was so fresh!
Our server, Carson, was warm and friendly, made us laugh and just took great care of us. We will definitely be going back whenever we are in the Christiana Mall.

A hidden spot in the mall. The wait is always much shorter than the other restaurants. This restaurant has good food but a fairly limited menu. I like their short ribs and they have excellent sweet potato fries. You should also checkout their salmon salad.

Stopped for breakfast, while shopping. Good food, fresh RIPE fruit, Excellent service. Heard a rumor that their «fish and chips» are the best around.

As an avid Nordstrom shopper, I had seen sixth and pine numerous times over the past few years and have always hoped to try it. Finally made it a point to stop in for lunch today amidst a busy shopping trip to the mall.
First of all, I was quite surprised at the amount of people dining! Judging from the size, I wouldn’t think that it would fill up, but we actually had to wait a few minutes for a table to get up.
Everything is organic, local, and farm to table and you can tell. Instead of brining bread upon greeting the table, the servers bring pickled vegetables. Delicious!
I would highly recommend stopping here for a quick lunch instead of dealing with the fast food and over packed food court. I will be back!

Dropped in with the parents for an afternoon coffee and dessert on a Saturday afternoon. Not too many customers as it was between mealtimes, but there were still people there. We got some coffee and the cookie sundae — a great combo if you just want to get a snack in during your shopping. The regular menu items looked great, and they were very reasonably priced. Staff was nice, and the interior is nicely muted. The open kitchen/​dinette area is a nice touch. This is definitely the better dining option in the mall if you don’t want to mess with the franchises or food court.
