order – won ton soup rice stick soup A lot of soup to order for one day, if you ask me. This place is in the middle of an asian parking lot so, BUYERBEWARE. It’s already hard enough to find parking as is with all this congestion. Now, you have to worry about the cars going every which way because of some persons visors in the way. Aside from the clear and present danger, there was a few thefts the last time we went. After talking to the person, it was a broken front passenger window because he left his lap top bag in the front seat. Now that you’ve been warned. the food isn’t that much of a danger. Just gotta worry about the lunch time rush but even then, it goes by pretty smoothly.

I don’t love this place but I don’t hate it either. The food and service is average. Something I do enjoy getting is the fried flour cakes with eggs; other than that, everything else has been so-so. Don’t come here with too high of expectations.

Good stuff, especially on a cold winter day or if you’re feeling a little under the weather. Grab a bowl of soup and get all fuzzy feeling as you sip on warm broth and slurp up the slippery ho fun noodle. The menu is expansive so there’s a lot of options to choose from i.e. Duck curry noodle soup, pan fried crispy noodle, daikon, taro or flour cake appetizer and much more… The customer is pretty diversed, I’ve seen industrial workers, solo techy, lovely couples(young and old), big families etc… The service is straight forward ‘no bs get yo order in’ then food comes out lightning fast(well for sure soup dishes does) and you dive in ‘as is’ or you can decorate your bowl with the fixings of condiments to the left or right of you depending on your seating arraignment(love their bench style seating). Overall our experience has been satisfactory.

It’s cheap, its good, its fast. This is a fast food noodle house at its best! The soup is bland if you eat it as is, but if you ask for extra fried pork skins, and season with their hot sauce, hoisin sauce, sirracha, and jalapenos, its pretty darn tasty! Who eats clear broth noodle soup plain anyways? It’s close by my office so when I need a warm bowl of soup this is one of my go-to’s. Have you ever felt blue, but then a nice warm bowl of soup just makes you feel happy and warm inside again? Yeah, this place will do it for ya.

I really don’t know what happened to this place. We used to have such a good thing going for us. The last time I physically came into the place(lol), the server forgot my order. I waited longer than I probably should have before giving the wait staff a friendly reminder. I was pretty taken back when the server tried to put the blame on me for not ordering. What does he have to gain from winning that argument? I’m not going to give you a bigger tip because you proved me wrong you moron. When my food came out it tasted bland and I later found a small hair in my soup. Needless to say I did not enjoy my meal. Today I ordered takeout since I’m working from home. I was hoping that the last meal I had here was just some sort of fluke, and that this place would bounce back into my list of cheap local eats. I ate at my house with my two pups. Here were my thoughts: «This soup is watery» «If this meat wasn’t drenched in soup, I would feed it to my dogs.» «If I was trying to introduce Asian noodle soup to someone and brought them here, I would have to do that awkward apologizing thing.» «I’m going to wash this meat with water and give it to my dogs. They’re dogs, it’ll be cool.» I’m not going to come back here anymore.

I go to this place regularly. You can’t go wrong with Soup #9. It is a combination won ton soup on egg noodles. It always comes out to perfection. Other items worth trying are the pad thai, beef stew soup, and crispy fried noodles. There is no fancy service here. They take your order, they make it fast and serve it to you. This place is perfect for a quick lunch. Tung Kee never fails me.

Solid TK location. Came here for a bite to eat during lunch and it was semi-busy. Staff was short and to the point. I appreciate that when I want a no frills meal in the cheap. mi xao don was on point. Kinda heavy handed on the MSG but duh I am at TK noodle. I will be back to this location when in the area

This review is strictly for the party tray of chow mein that I picked up for a company potluck. I’ve heard that New Tung Kee Noodle and King Noodle over at the Fremont Hub are part of the same chain of restaurants. I’ve ordered a party tray from King Noodle in the past, but thought I’d try New TK Noodle this time around since they’re much closer to my home. I’m going to go ahead and give New TK a slight edge in terms of what you get in the large order of noodles. The tray of combo chow mein came packed with shrimp, chicken, beef and broccoli. The noodles were an absolute hit at my work potluck today! There are probably better places to go for this type of thing, but I feel like they hooked me up for the money that I spent. This will most definitely be my spot going forward whenever I need to bring food to a work function.

I ordered a pot of tea to go with my noodles but started to get really worried when there was a glistening layer of oil on the surface of my tea cup. Figured maybe my lips was greasy from the food or worse the cup was dirty so i asked for a new cup but there was still that really nasty layer of oil. To get to the source of the issue I looked into the teapot itself and found chili oil with bits of red chili floating in my tea!!! I overheard the waiter saying they gave me the used teapot of a customer before me. Unless someone want to claim gently used chili oil tea is the new rage — I would say this is disgusting and very unhygienic. Also if you’re carving for an authentic Vietnames — not your place. If you want Chinese… nope not here either. The chef here added random elements of different types of noodles into one bowl so if you’re going for authenticity you might have to continue looking. So for what it was it tasted alright.

You know how in the movie«Harold and Kumar go to White Castle» when they finally eat the cheeseburgers and their faces are full of satisfaction and joy? Well that’s exactly the expression I get every time I eat here. This about my 7th time here and it never disappoints, I’m always kind of torn of what to eat here. It’s always between the beef stew, because of the delicious gelatinous meat that is boiling in the beefy beef broth, or the combination wonton noodle soup that is loaded with tasteful meats like: homemade wontons, beef balls, chicken breast, large shrimp and pork rinds, all garnished with some cilantro. Well today, I ordered #9 the wonton combo with extra pork rinds, highly recommend. Everything in the soup was a symphony and was possibly the best thing to consume on a Bay Area fall day. The soup was magnificent and always at an affordable price at 6.75. We also ordered their crispy egg rolls at 1.20 a piece. Although the plaza has a vast amount of restaurants competing for customers, there’s a reason why this place is always filled… the food is always consistently 5 star quality at a 5 star price and it doesn’t get better than that.

#21 is DABOMB! My family has been eating here occasionally ever since the OGTK noodle house existed. Now, there are so many different names and different location. I fell out of the drama loop but I“m guessing there was some drama in the family and people split to open their own version of «TK noodle house.» Never theless, this location is pretty good when it comes to fresh vegetables, tasty dishes, cleanliness, and fast service. I used to go to the Fremont Hub location, but I recently went there and the taste completely deteriorated. But, nevermind about that because this review is for this location so let’s keep it that way. Anyway, food is good. They do not skimp out on the portions! A mere small sized will fill you up! Well, actually I can’t guarantee that it will fill YOU up because I don’t know how much you can eat but it surely filled me up. LOL. Sorry, not really helpful. Just remember that they aren’t stingy on the portions. There were even at least 3 pieces of SHRIMP! Wow, right?! On to the service, it was quick. The server took our orders and the food came in like 10 mins or less. However, beware that the non-soup orders will take longer than the soup orders. So if you are hangry and starving to the point of no return, you might want to order one of the noodle soup or just request a hot rush on your non-soup order. Tip: order some pork skin on the side to eat with your dish. You will thank me after ;) Tip 2: they take cards. hallelujah !

Don’t expect exceptional service. They’re not going to ask you how your day is going or discuss the weather with you. They’ll take your order and walk away. So if you’re someone that likes great service, just be forewarned. But they do keep an eye on your water and check up on you. Just not the friendliest people. On to the soup. I ordered #9 based on reviews that I read. It seemed the most popular. It’s a combination rice noodle soup with beef, beef balls, shrimp, and dumplings. Also has green onions and cilantro in it. The broth is amazing and flavorful. The meat tastes great the the dumplings were delicious. The dumplings had black pepper in it. For some it may be overpowering but I liked it. The noodles were also really tasty and the texture was nice. Probably one of the best soups I’ve ever had. Their chili paste is also really good. My bf and I also ordered the egg rolls which were your typical egg roll. The food is just great overall. The flavors are there and it’s just nice comfort food. Plus it’s really inexpensive. Good cheap food, can’t go wrong!

My parents’ have been to other Tung Kee chains since who-knows-when, so it definitely shows you how popular it is! I came here on Labor Day with two others, since we didn’t feel like cooking anything. Praise the store owners for opening on this day! We came around 6:30PM and the place was fairly filled. We had barely got to sit down when we were already asked what we wanted to order. Give me a few minutes, please? We finally decided on: –1LARGE order of #21: Combination Chow Fun //HUGE portions! And looks amazing! If you love stir-fry noodles with vegetables, get this for sure! –1LARGE order of #30: TAROCAKES! //How I miss these! Corn starch, floury goodness made of taro. Classic way is to also crack an egg or two on the bottom. The best part about this one? They add the pickled vegetables into the egg, just the way my mom does! –1LARGE order of #9: Combination wonton noodle soup //So much egg noodles! But wontons are delicious! Scare pieces of pork on top(a bit too fatty), but still yummy! Soup is a bit too artificially sweet(aka chicken MSG), but I love the garlicy flavor. –1LARGE order of #2 //Spicy beef sate rice stick with peanut sauce //Holy. It’s literally peanut sauce thrown with spicy chili in rice noodles. Nice chunks of meat, and some cucumbers to refresh… but very tasty! I don’t know if I can slurp down the soup but it’s definitely yummy to dip noodles in! Pros: –Quick service! Got in and out within 1 hour. –Great taste! Full of flavors, and not too salty. –Good portions! Wow! I mean, I know noodles are cheap, but at least they don’t rip you off! And the best part is that they are next to a supermarket, so it keeps costs low. –Awesome price! Quality = Quantity in this case. WOOT! Cons: –A bit too much MSG. –Meh service. I guess if you like nonexistent but still existent service, this is the place to be. They come at the right time: to order, to bring your dishes over, and to clean up. Tips/Observations: –Head up to the front to pay!(Luckily not cash only.) –You get your fortune cookies at the front desk too when you pay! –Seems like they have normal business hours during all holidays, unless otherwise stated. Overall, I would come here again for some hot soups and noodle dishes! Definitely tastes like home(minus the MSG)!

I have been going to Tung Kee noodle with my family for as long as I could remember. Whether they are called King Noodle, Luu Noodle, TK Noodle or Tung Kee, they are all basically the same in terms of the menu, quality of food and layout of the restaurant. The first location I have been to is the one in downtown San Jose, probably one of the first that has opened. This location is probably the closest to me, but my family likes to go to the one in N. Milpitas or Calaveras, only because we are often around the area. My go-to would be the mi bo kho(egg noodles with beef stew) or the mi bo vien(egg noodles with beef balls). I like how their noodles are thick and chewy, broth is always flavorful and they give you a lot of toppings in your noodle soups. Service is always quick and efficient. Usually within minutes of ordering, the food comes out piping hot and fresh. If you want something refreshing to drink, I recommend getting the taro pearl drink! It is soooo good and has not chance in terms of flavor and taste since I have been getting it as a kid. Note: this place like all TK’s are cash only, but there’s an ATM machine inside for convenience.

Right when we sat down & looked at the menu, the server came over to take our orders right away. He also made small talk which is great! Very roomy & a great atmosphere! The service is really quick too. A few seconds after we ordered, we got our drinks right away. I ordered my taro pearl drink & it came it right away! It’s refreshing on this hot day. The pearls are cooked well too. Very good. My took a sip of my niece’s strawberry smoothie & it tastes exactly like strawberry! I ordered the Combination Chow Fun & it was a great choice! The flat noodle was a bit more stickier than I would have liked. There was a lot of meat & vegetables than noodles too. A bit overwhelming, but I enjoyed every bite. Overall, AMAZING experience & I definitely loved my order. Quick service, affordable & very friendly servers makes this experience wonderful! Will definitely come back to try the noodles.

New Tung Kee — good value, decent food. 3.5 stars rounding up to four. After eleven straight seemingly endless days of work(including missing my favorite non-holiday holiday — National Doughnut Day), I finally got a chance to catch my breath a little on Saturday. To decompress a little, I decided to go out to dinner with my family. We tossed around numerous dining options but decided on NTK because we all wanted something soupy and simple and had never been there(or the other NTKs) before. So off to Newark we went. We arrived at NTK just before 6:00pm. Upon entering the restaurant through the automatic doors(very cool for a chain noodle shop!), we were immediately seated. The restaurant looked clean and well kept. Tea and menus were brought to us by one of the servers. It didn’t take us long to decide and we ordered the following: — Combination Rice Noodle Soup(#1, large for $ 6.75) — Beef Stew and Tendon Rice Noodle Soup(#5, large for $ 6.75) — Combination Wonton Noodle Soup(#9, large for $ 7.50) — Deep Fried Egg Roll(X3, $ 1.20 each) All the noodle soup dishes came out quickly. My beef stew and tendon rice noodle soup was very good. It was presented nicely. A small sprig of basil and a lime wedge sat on top of the white rice noodles in the reddish-orange broth. The beef and tendon chucks were very tender and the broth was decent. The noodles were slightly overcooked but acceptable. Overall, I thought the quality was decent. My brother’s combination wonton noodle soup came with four wontons, slices of pork and chicken, shrimp, and meatballs. I tried one of the wontons and it was firm and meaty. My mom’s combination rice noodle soup was similar to my brother’s, less the wontons. They both told me their food was okay. It took awhile before the deep fried egg rolls arrive. The filling was made with cabbage, carrot, and vermicelli. They were served hot and fresh with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. Even though there wasn’t any meat in them, they were still great. Service there was okay. The folks there were pretty friendly. To sum it up: don’t expect greatness here. But in a pinch, this place will do.

Five Stars. The pinnacle of Unilocal’s praise. The supposed territory where only the greatest of the great reside. I know what you’re thinking, why am I giving it to a noodle chain? Well if anyone has every seen a certain movie about a Rat that can cook, then I would be a certain critic having a certain said dish at the climax of the movie. Since before I could speak English, I have dined at the original Tung Kee in San Jose. Growing up, everyone else had their fast food and restaurants, and this was mine for the longest time. When I want to go back to a feeling of nostalgia, of fast and fresh food, and a menu that satisfies anyone’s noodle cravings; I think Tung Kee. Of course speaking their language helps a bit too. If you’ve never been here and are looking to try some signature dishes not really available anywhere else, then you should definitely try their Hu Tieu Sate, and Combination Chow Fun. The flavors and style of these aren’t any you’ll find elsewhere in almost any other Vietnamese, Chinese, or Asian restaurants in general And as an added bonus over many other Tung Kee’s, this one takes card.

This always seems to be my Mother’s TO-GO to place when we eat out. I think she’s in love with noodle soups :) New Tung Kee is located in a huge plaza with Lion Market being the main attraction and a bunch of other restaurants around it. There’s usually plenty of parking space so you don’t have to really worry. The only time when it gets really packed is during the weekends when there’s a shit ton of Asians trying to shop at Lion Market: P Service here is good, food comes out quick(just the way I like it). My mom usually orders the same thing everytime. Same for me unless I want to try something different. The usual is the Combination Noodle Soup where it has EVERYTHING in it. Go big or go home cause I like my noodle soups stuffed with everything :) You definitely can’t go wrong with a bowl that’s around $ 6/$ 7 depending if you get a small or large. Can’t go wrong with cheap and good noodle soups! Maybe if I’m in the mood I’ll try something different. I’ve tried their #23(check my picture), but I didn’t like it much cause they gave too much noodle… I think I’ll stick with their noodle soups for now: P Come here if you want something quick to eat and cheap! Oh… and good of course :)
