I’ve been going to Frank’s for years. Their pizza is delicious as well as many other things. However, never order delivery. It always takes a long time. And although they warned me it would be an hour today, I am currently waiting 2 ½ hours for 2 entrees and garlic bread. Without a phone call, reason, and never returned my call with a total like they promised. If you’re eating inside or picking up, like I said, the food is good. But not good enough for a few hours for a delivery.

Frank’s used to be hands down the best pizza spot in Newark but something’s changed. 30 – 40 years ago they still had Italian family working the ovens and the place was always on fire serving fantastic pizza. 10 – 20 years ago there were local young Puerto Rican guys working the oven and they churned out pizza that was just as delicious as before. But today you only see Central/South American illegal immigrants making the pizza and quality has gone down the toilet. I have nothing against illegal immigrants, but this particular bunch makes the greasiest, soggiest, most disgusting pies of pizza ever and they have no business working the ovens. You’ll be lucky if any of the cheese is still on the pizza and doesnt completely slide off the pie by the time you get home.

Love love love the pizza here. Hands down greatest pizza in newark. I never have a problem with customer service. The gentlemen behind the counter are always very polite and get things done quickly. I have to say their anti pasto salad is my favorite.

The delivery and customer service at this place is absolutely the worst i’ve ever experienced. We called our order in for a pizza at 7:30 and almost three hours later we never received it. We called twice and both times someone picked up, advised us they have one driver and hung up. They should’ve advised that delivery was behind to begin with and give us the option to pick up. Absolutely the WORST service ever! Ultimately we cancelled our order however good luck to those who order from this establishment. Coming from someone who has never left a bad review, these people seriously need to get their business and people skills as a whole together.

Ordered my pizza nd the guy on the phone acted like he had an attitude. Had to wait an hour nd a half for a pizza to be delivered nd I live not to far from the restaurant. To make things worse the pizza wasn’t even what I ordered smh. Worse experience ever.

NEVERORDERFROMHERE! I ordered the pizza for a class party at 11:15am. They told me it would 45 minutes. It is currently 1:25 and my poor, hungry students are still here waiting. It’s been over TWOHOURS!

Received our food over an hour after we placed the order and it was a little cold. Mind you it was on a Saturday night and for that we weren’t expecting a speedy delivery. After throwing it in the oven for a few minutes the pizza itself was OKAY. The meat on the wings made up for the sprinkles they call pepperoni. The customer service was pretty good, the guy that answered was nice, when we called to check on the pizza(since an hour had passed) he wasn’t rude at all. Overall, we’ll probably give it another try and see how it goes. Maybe during the week.

I grew up in Newark, where it is very easy to find a pizzeria, but to find a gem, such as Frank’s, is very rare. I have since moved away, but every time I visit, I make it a must to eat at Frank’s. I do not recommend the Economy pie, it lacks flavor. Just pay full price and enjoy. The reason why I did not give it five stars, is because it only accepts cash. You’ve been around for a couple of years, do us all a favor and start taking plastic.

Horrendous. Ordered pizza at 730pm… It’s 1030pm and still no pizza. We attempted calling them 5 times and after we asked where the pizza was… They hung up on me. I would never order from them ever again. They were rude and didn’t have the courtesy to let us know that they were backed up or having issues.

The real question here is, «Can you pizza it?» Macaroni and cheese. BBQ chicken. Calamari. Eggplant rollatini. On a pizza. Enough said.

Worts delivery service ever, The food is great, I completely understand that yesterday was raining and was busy but to wait 2 hours for a pizza to arrive was ridiculous, you really need to get staff together.

This is a childhood staple of mine bring that I grew up in Newark, NJ. One of the best pizzas I have ever had. I even had a friend from chicago say the same thing. The biggest cons for me that bring this place to 3 stars is 1. Their service 2. Their dining area 3. No parking. This place is definitely a grab and go type of spot. It’s not a place where you can sit and have a good dinner. Since the pizza is that good, they always have some ridiculous line and they have to rush their services which can lead to mixed up orders. Lastly, this place is located in Bloomfield Ave in north Newark. Any native from around this way knows how bad the posting is up here. All in all, this place will forever be the best in my heart because of all the memories I have here!

You grow up a block away and you go through the old neighborhood and you are shocked to find the city you grew up in has gone well Ghetto. Don’t get me wrong its not the wild west like other parts of Newark but its certainly not the old Italian area you and your family grew up in. With that said a staple for close to 50 years is Frank’s. Felige is still behind the oven’s making pizza I’m not 50 so he has to be over 70 but he is still there as are the orange booths and wood paneling from yesteryear. as stated a few booths to sit in if you are so inclined or take out is always an option. Remembering the traditional NY Style Round Pizza as some of the best we tried it this past Saturday and its still very good but does not stand out as WOW man I’ve missed this place. What has seemingly become their staple and my favorite thing is their«Grandpa’s Pizza»… This is a large square pie NOT thick chewy Sicilian but a nice balance crust with a «Fra Diablo» Spicy marinara sauce that will absolutely have you running back to the hood once you get taste. Fountain drinks and various bottled products are behind the counter and the guys here know what they are doing since they have been doing it for 50 years. I’d stay away after night fall unless your packing. All and all still solid and the Grandpa pie is really outstanding. Street parking is limited.

Grew up in the area and have always gone to Frank’s pizza. It’s def one of the better pizza spots in Newark, despite it being a little pricey. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, especially later in the evening but it’s a small deterrent from some good pizza!

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and while the neighborhood can be seedy after hours, I’ll just stick to the food. If you’re a fan of a pizza with everything, do yourself a favor and order the Large with everything, I get mine without anchovie or olives. Always fresh vegetables and toppings, and I can’t think of a pizzeria in the area than can make a tomato sauce so tasty. I mean it’s tasty like you want to drink it out of a glass tasty. When I’m not in the mood for an everything pie their regular cheese pizza with extra cheese makes you love life.

The pizza here is pretty good but the service is ok. I ordered the bbq chicken pizza and plain slices. They were good. This place also has a few tables for customers to dine in. I believe they also offer delivery. Unfortunately no parking lot, only street. But it’s not so bad.

This is not a pizza shop I would recommend. I only go here occasionally because I live close, but Im almost always dissappointed. The pizza is mediocre at best and priced as if its phenominal. However there are two things I can say that you should try… The«Grandpa» pizza is really good. Its kinda like a sicilian slice but it has a special blend of marinara and pizza sauce, very good. Also I cant complain about their buffalo chicken pizza. If you are into that type of pizza, def try it. So it stops there, other than that this place is not really good at all. Bad, in fact… and Ive had it all, wings, burgers, mozz sticks, no no no. Def do not order a salad, Ive had bad lettuce here more than once and they once charged me $ 1 jus bc I wanted black olives instead of green on my salad! I wonder why I even go back here as I write this review. Service is not very good and make sure they are charging you correctly for you order.

First, I must say I grew up in the neighborhood so I can say this. It’s ghetto. This pizza was one of the best I’ve had for miles from there. It’s just good. I haven’t gone for many years because it was so ghetto. We were all tired of going in there with our guard up. It’s NOT a family environment at night. I’m not sure during the day. Is this pizza worth my safety? No. You can get a great pizza safely further down on the same street, Dickie Dee’s. It’s right next to the crack Dairy Queen.
