Great little pizza shop on the L.E.S, gets really busy aftee school and when the bars let out. Cant go wrong with a large pie for $ 10. Or a slice for 1.50
Always different types of slices available — always fresh.

While I think most things probably taste better after drinking, I’m pretty sure this would be good at any time. The buffalo chicken slice gets my vote any day!

Recently grub hub this place and it was ok. I ordered the fried ravioli which was good and the meatball calzone which really lacked meatballs or cheese, just was a huge piece of bread. I would order again from here but wouldn’t do the calzone again.

Theres a slice spot, almost, on every corner in NYC, and that is AAAMAAAAAZING! It is by far one of the locale defining treasures. I will never stop looking and trying all of them! I love pizza, if you don’t love pizza, I don’t love you!
Melani has a great single letter slab serif (shout out to all the font heads) M for its logo. They offer all your basics, the regular slice was good, but the fresh Margarita slice was on point! and the 3 (we got 8) for a dollar Zeppole’s were perfect for the food pause on the nightly bar crawl.
I could give you a long list of BS whys and why nots but lets face it, its a slice spot, its cheap, its clean, the staff is nice and the food is on point. Enough said. If your close… peep it!

They made one of the best pepperoni calzones I’ve ever had and it was delivered hot. I am giving them 4 stars because the last time I tried to order from them they said I was about a quarter mile out of delivery range… even though they had delivered to me previously. I’m a bit devastated. I’m wondering if I should try calling again to see if maybe they can come if I promise to tip really well. Sigh.

New to Rivington street and I normally will grab a slice on Fridays when waiting on my barber and their pizza is prerry good. It use to be a $ 1.00 pizza shop but hey.

This place is right by my apartment and I find myself going here when I don’t want to spend too much on dinner, or I’m just looking for something really quick to eat. I’m a huge fan of Nonna’s which is also right by me, but this place is just SO much cheaper, so I’ve been switching back and forth between the two. I don’t think the pizza is quite as good here, but its definitely way WAY better than any dollar slice in the area. You can’t complain about the $ 1.50 slices or the chicken roll & soda for $ 5 deal. So happy to have them in the area when I want a quick slice to go.

Father and son owned, cool guys who totally re-​did the place. I’ve been in the area for awhile and actually found them on Instagram, we have been looking for places to go to in this area and this place is located in a really cool part of town. there are bars up the street but also a bar two doors down that’s really cool. The perfect spot for a pizza joint because its in the middle of everything and they are open late for the drinkers. Guy at the counter is always friendly.

The best cheap pizza in the area.
I was exploring through the LES near my neighborhood and found this pizza shop as there aren’t that many good cheap pizza places in the area. It was great when I found Melania the slice was 1.50 and absolutely delicious and very thin.
It was exactly the slice of pizza that I was looking for in the area thin slice, good quality mozzarella. And a little sweet tomato sauce. It was delicious and the guy who worked the counter was extremely friendly. I will be back here and probably order delivery too.
In short:

So good! After trying a lot of different dollar pizza places in the neighborhood, I’d rather pay a buck fifty and get pizza from Melani. It’s well worth it. Also: their garlic knots are soooo good!

Great local establishment near my apartment building.
I got two slices of pepperoni and two cans of soda for 7 bucks. It’s great because it’s still quality pizza without a hefty price tag.
The guys in the shop are really cool too. It’s fast and friendly service. What more could you ask for in a neighborhood pizza shop?

This is an awesome pie. Owners are really friendly and will explain everything to you. Ingredients are fresh and it shows. Check it out if you’re in the area!

Probably the best $ 1.00 -$ 1.50 slice around the area. However, I wouldn’t want to make a special trip here if I was walking by a $ 1.00 spot I wouldn’t pass it in favor of an out of my way walk. Good, but not fantastic.

Yum!!! I came here for late-​night slices after a bachelorette party and was really impressed right off the bat– the place has a cool vibe and was very clean. My pizza was pretty damn near perfect; the crust was nice and crisp on the bottom and the sauce had really great flavor. The guy behind the counter was super friendly, which is always a plus. I’d definitely come back!

There’s something about it that makes it good. It’s crunchy with just the right amount of crispness, the sauce isn’t overwhelming and the cheese is just right. It’s a little bland but it’s not. It’s also a nice size which makes 1 slice a good meal. $ 2 gets you a slice and a soda which is a rarity in NYC and LES I’m sure.

I’m absolutely ashamed of how often I eat here. Likely daily. Someone send help, my roommates are getting concerned and I think the pizza guy is starting to catch on.

I recently tried the lasagna and its so good. They make it a roll up style. With delicious meatballs inside.

Stopped in looking for a quick bite before we headed off to a friends party at one of the local bars. Of all the pizzeria’s we passed, this one seemed cleanest (The others, I was afraid of what the chefs may have done to the pizza or what may have been crawling around in the kitchen!). This is a cute, clean little shop and it fit our need of a quick place to grab a bite.
The server/​chef was friendly and made sure our pizza was cooked just right. I had the pepperoni slice with a couple of garlic knots. Lets just say its great pizza for a great price.

Couldnt deliver an order to the river? less than a mile away? smh

Melani is a small pizzeria located in the heart of the Lower East Side.
This review is strictly for their ‘on the go’ pizza– I have not sampled the pastas or other menu options.
Nice things about this spot —
A) Super clean; has a more modern, sleek feel to it than other pizza joints nearby
B) The guy serving pizza at the counter was super friendly and greeted people heartily when they came in
C) Gluten-​free options
D) They accept debit /​credit /​cash as payment methods– cool
Where it misses the mark —
A) Pizza is adept at defining bland; I ordered a pepperoni slice earlier today and it was completely off. When I stopped here a few nights prior, I had a cheese slice and felt the same impression. I couldn’t make out the sauce at all and the cheese was just bland. I think the flavor was pretty much 100% rooted in the pepperoni.
By default, this makes the price feel wrong when there are a plethora of 99c pizza spots floating around.
B) Super small, not much seating (akin to many other LES pizza establishments)
C) Where’s the parmesan shaker?!
D) Soda was hot. I guess the fridge doesn’t work.
Honestly, if you’re looking for a quick slice– you can do much better just walking a few blocks away from this place. It serves its purpose but it is very far from being a divine pizza establishment.

Stopped by to grab a slice today. Good pizza, clean place. i would come back 100%!

Pizza place in the LES changed ownership recently and made some much needed changes. Food improved significantly and they’ve added in a ton of Gluten free options. Sauce is outstanding. Try the Vodka and Lasagna slices.

Awesome place good quality food I can’t believe how inexpensive. Feels like my mom cooked the lasagna. Wow what an experience.
