If you have not heard about BYOB — Bring Your Own Beverage — you are sorely missing out! Ignore the location in the Unilocal profile, that is just Opera Brooklyn’s office, the location for each performance is only revealed to people who have subscriptions or tickets, since each date sells out so quickly.
I have full subscription (5 operas), for $ 100, which is super inexpensive (given it’s the friggin’ Opera) and moreso it’s such a fun way to experience the great works. Aside from the ability to bring your own beer or wine, they do abridged versions so even your non-​Opera friends will have a good time.
Get drunk, or at least not sober, and see Carmen or La Traviata, now that’s my sort of culture.
