I love fresh&co at the grand central location, for breakfast. However, it’s frustrating that this location(herald sq area) is ALWAYS out of crackers when I order soup for lunch. I don’t understand why other high traffic locations don’t have this issue. I’d like crackers to accompany my soup/chili, not tough bread. Thanks. I think I’ll go to hale&hearty next time I’m craving soup and crackers.

I really enjoy the food that’s made in this place but the service at the counter is always a mess. The leadership lacks the skill set to manage the staff.

Normally ok for lunch — we love their salads, but i just ordered an egg white omelet with cheese and mushrooms(platter) and after the confusion of being charged incorrectly and having to wait to be rung up again — my $ 13 platter was wrong. I got back to my office and it was cheese and onions —my mortal enemy. So the omelet was disgusting. I think I’ll just stick to occasionally ordering lunch from here.

Nice working in midtown and having access to all these fast food places. I’ve always been a huge supporter it this place, but after today, NEVERAGAIN. I’ve overlooked a lot of their mishandling of food items and aggressive customer service. Besides as a New Yorker it is all about in and out fast. Today I decided to bring my coworker. I even encouraged him to download their app. Starving out of our minds we settled in and started eating. After my first bite I see a huge insect which I thought was a grain. Only to find it was a bug. Went back and returned my food. I think I would have felt better about the experience if the Manager on call wasn’t so cavalier as if it is «Normal». Apparently kale has these bugs in them. I was like«what? Don’t you guys wash it and check the stuff you get from the vendor?» She said they can’t help it and let me refund you since I’m the second one returning my food. Seriously! That’s all she said as if they can’t control it. Watch out folks when you order your quinoa bowls, there will be bugs in it and all this Fresh&Co will say is «There is nothing we can do about it». Disgusted! She didn’t even offer me another meal, not that I would opt for it.

I was waking in New York City when it suddenly started to rain. With no raincoat or umbrella I decided to go into the closest restaurant for shelter. Little did I know that this random walk-in would be a goldmine. I was captivated by the smell of steak and the Eco/health conscious environment. Was very drawn into ordering. I spent $ 20 on Steak fontina panini, tofu edame, and side salad. Salad wasn’t a start, the soup was ok, but the main star was the steak panini. The sweet onion with charcoal cooked meat. This was surprisingly identical to the kebab and bread I ate in Antalya, Turkey. Antalya is known for delivering the best kebabs. I’d give 5 stars but the salad was a disappointment.

It’s definitely an office-worker lunch place. It’s a grab-and-go back to work joint, an extension of your non-existent corporate cafeteria. I’m obsessed with their gaucho salad, and I’m not one of those salad eating girls, but I couldn’t stop thinking about this salad so when one of my co-workers proposed we order delivery, I suggested this place, just so I could get that salad again. The crunchy, fresh cucumber, crispy onion strips, sweet corn, and creamy avocado. It’s just so perfect. The staff does move fast, so if you’re getting salad off their menu, make sure you let them know right away if you want to change something, because they didn’t ask me when I was there. It’s efficient, but a little coldly so. However, on our order today they mixed a few things. One flavor of chips for another, a coke zero instead of regular. Not the biggest deal, but it’s just sloppy. So the four stars here is really just for the food, which where places like this are a dime a dozen in midtown, counts.

This place always has long lines. The workers are always joking around which is great for them but not so great if you want your salad fast. I am cursed because my boss always wants her salads from there so I have no choice. The music is loud so they usually can’t hear me.

This was my first time at Fresh & Co. We came for an early lunch on Sunday. We were enticed by the promise of healthy, locally sourced food, but were even more impressed by the friendly, helpful staff! We witnessed how thoroughly they clean the restaurant(food prep and eating areas), which added to our comfort level. The restroom was also clean and well maintained. Oh, yes… the food was delicious! We had sandwiches and fresh fruit :)

Second time trying Fresh & Co. Both times I have been very happy with the Quality and Quantity of the Bowls. First visit I had the Asian Energy Bowl, Second visit Bankok Bowl. Both very enjoyable!

They hate dogs. I had my small puppy in an enclosed carrier and tried to buy a salad to go. The manager found me right as my salad was being made and he told me to leave immediately, that I was a health code violation. He wasn’t apologetic or nice about it, just kicked me out.

I had the steak salad here, which was pretty tasty and very filling for lunch! I also like the layout here compared to Chop’t, since it’s more roomy in terms of ordering and dining in. You get 5 different cash registers to go up to to pay!

FRESH indeed! This is the ideal grab and go lunch place if you work or are shopping in midtown. Try the Kale Caesar or the Quinoa bowls! For salads, I love the spicy tex-mex dressing or the seasonal dressing. The soup selection ain’t bad either. Try to go before 12:30, but even after, don’t let the crowds intimidate you. This place moves FAST and you’ll be in and out in no time.

After a long afternoon of shopping on 34th Street, I had worked up a serious appetite. I needed a place to eat that was within walking distance and that didn’t break the bank or my waistline. I stumbled upon Fresh & Co and decided to give it a try. The menu features paninis, salads, and soups — great options for a mid-day meal. I was able to see all the salad ingredients and sandwiches through the plexi glass. The sandwiches looked appealing, the salad ingredients looked fresh, the food area was clean, and the employees were attentive. After studying the menu, I decided to order the Bangkok bowl(ingredients: turkey, quinoa, radishes, napa cabbage, carrots, broccoli, scallions, cilantro with sweet chili sauce). The ground Turkey didn’t look appealing to me and I thought I might want to switch my protein to chicken, so I asked the employee behind the counter to let me sample the chicken as well as the Turkey. The chicken was alright, but the Turkey(which was marinated in sweet chili sauce), was delicious; therefore, I decided to stick with the original ingredients. I paired my order with water and happily accepted the complimentary bread(aka half a bagel) that the cashier offered. My order came up to about $ 12. I opted for a seat at the large communal table near the entrance of the restaurant and dived into my bowl. It was delicious and filling. I made it half way through my meal before I started feeling full and decided to pack up the remaining portion to go. I did have some time to survey the restaurant while I was digesting my meal. The interior features white, light wood, and green colors throughout. The seating consists of communal benches with stools as well as tables for larger parties of two or more. This restaurant can seat about fifty people. Since the seats are all alongside the walls and windows, there’s plenty of standing room in the center of the restaurant for the busy lunch time crowd. The restaurant offers a few bottled beverage options as well as chips, pretzels, cookies, and other snacks at the register. I liked my salad and the concept of this restaurant. If this chain moved to DC, it would definitely give Chopt and Sweetgreen a run for their money.

TERRIBLE. Salad was COMPLETELYFROZEN with ICE. I’ve tried Fresh & Co at several other locations and I’ve always found their food to be decent — I’ve tried everything from their sandwiches to the salads and soups and have honestly enjoyed it. For this location, however, I felt compelled to write a review because it COMPLETELY shattered my expectations… in a BADWAY. I ordered the Steakhouse Salad and requested that I get corn instead of the roasted red peppers. Girl adds corn but also continues to add peppers. On top of that she seems to have a very crappy attitude for no reason. –1 star. The salad bowl wasn’t even filled to the top in the plastic container; why am I paying $ 11 for this? –1 star. I get home, hungry, excited to eat. On my first bite into the romaine lettuce I bite into a HUGE chunk of ICE. THESALADWASCOMPLETELYFROZEN, and not just that bit too… it was the ENTIRETHING. Plus, the salad in itself was pretty bad, not what I expected at all. Threw out the entire thing. –1 star. I can’t speak for the other items here but HOWCANYOUMESSUP A SALAD?! Never going here again. Bye.

I was able to get in and out of here with a delicous Mighty Tea Leaf tea in 2 minutes, all three times I stopped in here for tea on the weekends. I guess the weekend is not its super-busy time, but this works for me when I’m shopping in the area. Also, no lines waiting for the restroom. I have not been thrilled by their food at other locations however, so I am sticking with my 2 star review.

I’ve only come in here during early evenings for a light dinner, so I haven’t experienced the lunch time crowds some reviewers describe. I could see things getting chaotic when it gets busy though. When I’ve gone, it’s been fine. They have a decent selection of hot and cold options: sandwiches, soups, salads, bowls(with quinoa, mostly). If you’re on a kale kick(it’s all the rage these days), Fresh & Co has you covered, with options in both the bowl and salad categories. I mostly go to the salads, but now that the weather is cooling off I may do more bowls. I prefer the chef created salads because 1) there are a couple of them that I like and 2) they are a better deal than if you build your own. I’ve tried a couple bowls, and they’re enjoyable as well. They are served hot, usually with quinoa and a number of other ingredients(like kale, of course). I have yet to try the soups and sandwiches, but they seem to have several soups available each day. Plenty of vegetarian options, both of the simply meat-free and faux-meat varieties. You order your items from their respective counters, they’re prepared for you(if applicable) and then you head down to the registers to pay. I suggest LevelUp; on my last visit I unlocked $ 9 off my next purchase. There is some seating, but I imagine it fills up fast at lunch. The seating near the doors is probably really cold in winter, as they don’t have anything to mitigate wind or cold air coming straight in. They have a number of bottled beverages(including plenty of juice and tea options) but they can be pricey. No fountain drinks. I often have evening classes in this area, and Fresh & Co. is one of the few places I’ve found to grab a quick, light and healthy meal in the area that tastes good. But I’m not sure I’d attempt to fight the crowds at lunch.

This place is a war zone at lunchtime. There was mass confusion and disorganization, bodes and meals scattered haphazardly around the restaurant. I will say the cashiers and servers worked extremely quickly so this is more of a process problem than an employee one. I had some panini type heated sandwiches out of pure starvation but nothing tasted good enough to warrant me ever coming back; it’s not cheap either.

I’ve stopped here more than a few times when in a rush but in need of a filling meal on my way from the path to a show or concert. I love the quinoa bowls. Can’t get away from them. Something about quinoa just fills you up without weighing you down. Plus quinoa is straight up fun to say. Do it with me — keen-wah. Awesome right? I get mine with tofu AND chicken and then whatever interesting stir ins I feel like that day, chickpeas or baby corn or cranberries or kale or almonds, or possibly all of the above. They also have the lemon squeezed vitamin water zero, which I absolutely love, along with some pretty respectable cookies. Solid 4 stars for me. Others who join me here insist in getting these creepy looking premade sandwiches or overpriced salads and then malign me for dragging them here. 2 stars for the poor judgement of my friends and loved ones. Stick with the quinoa bowls, and you won’t be disappointed!

I’m always a fan of being able to build my own salad. They have a GREAT selection of salad toppings. I haven’t tried anything else there because I’m addicted to salads. Their salads are fantastic and I think reasonably priced. I paid about the exact same for the exact same type of salad in Dallas. It can get a bit crazy at lunch but they have a good system in place to get you in and out quickly.
