Terrible, the dumplings taste like the precooked variety you can buy at Trader Joe’s. Additionally, you could get a much better deal at Vanessa’s, who despite their thick skin, taste 100x better.

I was in the mood for soup dumplings and saw that this place made them so I placed an order through Eat24 on the Unilocal app. It allows you to choose the delivery time so I did an order for 12:30pm delivery. I ordered my food at roughly 11:20am so I knew I was aware of my wait. At about 12:45pm, I still didn’t get my food and this place is only a couple of blocks away from me so I contacted Eat24 who told me that the food just left and would be here any minute. The food finally arrived around 1pm and the delivery guy was extremely rude. He started complaining that I inquired about my food at 12:45pm when they open at 12pm. I told him even if they open at 12pm and can’t have orders done on time that they should change the earliest delivery time to something they can actually handle. He continued complaining that they don’t open until 12. I gave him a $ 20 bill and instead of bothering to ask how much change I wanted, he turned around and walked off. As for the food, I ordered the beef noodle soup, pork bao, and pork soup dumplings. The noodles and toppings were separated from the broth which was nice but the broth smelled old. The noodles were udon which is different from the picture. The beef was good and tender. There was only a quarter of a baby bok choy which also tasted old. The pork bao was good but small and the dough was dense without much filling. The pork soup dumplings didn’t break but were cold and something I could look past but there wasn’t much broth in them and it was flavorless. The biggest thing that bothered me was the delivery guy; enough to where I won’t both giving them another shot.

Stopped in for soup dumplings and fried dumplings. Takes a minute to cook, which is always a good sign. While I regret the food comes out on regular flimsy plates, they were yummy! Try the hot sauce.

This place seems to be hit-or-miss. Past reviews have cited problems(including food poisoning!) which seem to have been caused by inexperienced or negligent employees.(When I was there earlier this week, those working the registers seemed to be in their teens.) I was lucky enough to get the chicken-basil dumplings, fried, and they were delicious. The cashiers honored my Groupon. I have no complaints about the food or the service. One thing I would like to put on the record is that I was favorably impressed by the fact that they had a choice of several different sauces, some of them homemade, to put on your dumplings, etc. and that they give you(disposable) chopsticks as well as a plastic fork when they serve you your plate on a tray.

I went to pick up some dumplings for the wife and I. I was greeted by the cashier, «Michael». The service was great. He was very polite and the kitchen staff was friendly too. The basil chicken dumplings and organic pork was fantastic. Would go again!

Got in around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon to get a quick order of soup dumplings and a pork bun. Took 20 minutes to get my food even with no other customers in the restaurant. Soup dumplings tasted good, but we’re too doughy, and nowhere near as hot as I would have liked. Pork bun was terrible: dry and flavorless.

After 1 visit I fell in love with this place. The organic veggie dumplings are the best. It’s nice and clean and the staff is nice and friendly. Josh is the best! He is very professional and polite. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Weird… and not very good. We came in after having a few drinks nearby and wanted to get something in our stomachs before hopping to the next bar. I thought a few dumplings would be a good choice to soak up some suds. Walked in and the register guy was soo awkward! Maybe it was his first day? He kept staring at us, then asking us what we wanted in slow motion. So odd. Food came out quick and it was bad. Sticky, some parts were very hot, some cold(tasted microwaved) and no flavor. We had the pork dumplings. Soy sauce was good atleast! I mean, it did its job to fill my belly, but for $ 5, a pizza slice or 2 would have been better. Bottom line: if you are craving dumplings, steer clear and get to a real place.

assembly line style eatery with decent food. They hire your run of the mill retail employee to man the shop. no sign of a professional owner or manager in site. not sure who is behind the place, the food is not bad, but the concept is lacking to say the least.

This NYU-focused fast food suffices if you’re in a hurry before or after a movie but it’s not a destination spot. The pork and vegetable dumplings were decent. Unfortunately it took a long time after ordering to learn they were out of the vegetable bao. Try the hot sauce.

I mean, I guess this place is okay. It was 930pm and I wanted dumplings and Vanessa’s Dumplings was closed, so this was my only local option. I was a bit surprised to find an east village restaurant completely empty on a Saturday night. The service was alright and my food came out in like 10 minutes. We ordered chicken and pork and we could not tell the difference between the two. The dumplings were also a tad overpriced when other spots are significantly cheaper with better quality and flavor.

I wanted to love not just like this place. The food tastes great but questionable hygiene practices by the cooks, poor attitude by the ordering staff and wait time results in current less than favorable rating. Second visit, will give it one more chance.

Picked up some dumplings here while my friend and I were watching the Trump debate at 12th Street Alehouse across the way. Not super-expensive, pretty good dumplings(the kimchi pork and basil chicken are memorable). A nice late-night snack if you can afford the extra calories.

I feel sorry for this place because I really think it sucks. First time, I ordered a to go, the dumplings tasted weird(not good but less than okay but it wasn’t bad) so I thought maybe it’s because I had to eat the dumplings right away. Even though I actually lived 450 ft away from this place. Came back for the second time, it was around 3.30pm. I remember it was only me and another customer who came first with her kid. I ordered steam dumplings since I was too scared to try the fried dumplings(so many bad reviews about the fried dumplings — not cook, raw meat, etc). Another customer got her order 10 minutes later. Cool. it means mine would come soon. Another 10 minutes and I still didn’t get mine yet so I patiently waited for another minutes. Still waiting. Until I finally checked my phone to see the time. Oh man, it’s already 4 and I still didn’t get my dumplings. In fact, the mother and her daughter had already finished theirs. So I decided to ask the people who worked there, they were behind the counter talking a.k.a chatting and didn’t really pay attention that one of their customers still didn’t get the order yet. When they saw me standing there, one of them asked what did I want to order. I was like. seriously dude. I had been sitting there and you didn’t even notice that I already ordered?! Alright, I didn’t want to be rude so I politely asked about my order and how long did I need to wait for my dumplings. They were surprised and I was surprised too because they were blaming each other, in front of me, for not knowing about my order situation(what a nice team work they had it here). They went to the kitchen and from the kitchen window I could see they were talking about my order and guess what. my order actually was already ready but none of them bothered to call me or at least send the dumplings out from the kitchen. I am not sure how long the dumplings were left on the kitchen counter so I didn’t even bother to stay and eat there. I left and since I didn’t wanna waste food so I took the dumplings home. The taste of dumplings were still weird but maybe weirder since I had a bad experience already. The purpose of writing this review is to let the owner and/or the management know that they really need to improve the quality of their food and service and please less care about the decoration. I am not sure why they cared more about painting their store windows or adding posters if their food sucks and their service is bad.

I got serious food poisoning after eating here on a Saturday night. The next day I vomited 6 times(the last three of which were dry heaves — wonderful). And I also had diarrhea for 48 hours. I had to call out sick from work on Monday. I had the Thai Basil Chicken dumplings. Last time I ever eat meat out again from a place I don’t trust. I was drunk at the time which is why I was open to trying this place, but I remember seeing that the chicken was pink meat/dark meat(probably not cooked enough) inside the dumplings. Totally gross, this place should be shut down. I’m filing a complaint with the city. Never again! My body is still in pain from all the throwing up — and it’s Tuesday. –Ben

The dumplings were quite delicious — juicy, tasty, a bit oily but that’s to be expected for fried dumpling. The service is pretty good — attentive, keeps the place clean, a bit chatty but better than a completely quiet place. There wasn’t one Chinese person that worked here which made me surprised and think that this place was opened by someone of not Asian decent. Either way, the ambience is cool, nice open space, and I’ll definitely come back!

Always walked by, but never walked in… UNTILNOW! They make dumplings here, not sure if that came across in the name, but there ya go. As someone who very much enjoys Korean food, their kimchi pork dumplings caught my eye and I ordered some up. I was hungry so I also ordered their sweet and sour chicken dumplings. The kimchi pork dumplings were pretty underwhelming. Not particularly kimchi-y in flavor, and the pork itself didn’t stand out much either. I was pretty disappointed in these. The sweet and sour chicken dumplings saved the day though. Served in an «open» style dumpling, they were just bursting with flavor and accompanied an excellent tangy sauce which tied it all together. The«open» style of the dumplings makes handling them a little messy,(don’t make my mistake and eat with a white shirt on!) but I very much enjoyed these. I walked away impressed.

I hate to give a poor review when a business means well and the people are nice, but this place was just a mess. After trying the incredible new Chicken Parm Dumplings at the tiny, packed Mimi Cheng’s across the street, it was a complete 180 walking into this giant, empty new business. I’m not even sure where to begin. Let’s start with placing our order, which was one of the most excruciating experiences I’ve ever had. They have dumplings in 8 different varieties, strangely offered as either steamed or «grilled», as well as Soups, Bao, and finally these bizarre things called«Box Buns». They also have combos, which let you mix and match 4 dumplings of 2 different flavors for a total of 8, along with a Bao. This is where everybody got really confused. Combo A and B are listed as $ 9.39 and $ 9.89 respectively, and make no mention of the Bao and Soup they are included with. I didn’t even begin to try to ask what the difference between A and B was, so I just ordered a combo, specifying that I wanted 4 of the Basil-Ishious Chicken and 4 of the Zesty Kimchi Pork Dumplings, along with a Roast Pork Bao and the Beef Vegetable Soup. I also figured I should try a Curry Beef With Onions Box Bun to see what the heck it was($ 2.45). The very nice woman asked me 4 times which two types of dumplings I wanted, and then 6 more times if each of the 2 varieties I chose were steamed or grilled. Then she asked 5 times which Bao I wanted, and 5 more times which Box Bun. After the 20 questions were over, she got the order completely wrong anyway, and we did the whole thing over again since she was trying to order me 2 combos and who knows what else. OK, finally on to the food. It took forever to come out even though it was pretty empty, and during the wait they asked us a few times if we wanted things to come out in a certain order, or if we were ok with the bun coming out before the dumplings, and if it was ok if the soup came out later. Ugh. OK, now on to the food. The Box Bun was really bizarre. It looked at first like a plain chicken patty on a paper plate. No garnish, no sauce, no nothing. Just a sad little circle alone on the plate. It tasted a little funny too. The Bao was fine, but had little to no filler, so it was mostly just a big ball of the steamed bread. The Dumplings were really strange, which maybe explains why I never see them prepared as grilled like this. They were super wet, which was partially due to a ton of grease, but then also due to the fact that a ton of juice squirted out from them too, but not in the good or normal way you would expect with soup dumplings. On a positive note, it is very spacious. That’s all really. It’s also pretty cheap I guess. But if you want dumplings, though they might be twice the price, go to Mimi Cheng’s across the street instead for a far superior experience.
